Why waist the money on parts that are capable of 600hp if your olny going for 400hp. Theres safe....then theres stupid.not to mention your going to make 400hp on a chassis thats almost 20 years old.
Stock 1g rods with 2g pistons are good to about 400hp. The higher comprssion 2g pistons will give you more likely hood of knock under higher levels of boost with pump gas.
You'll want to keep the timing stock. Once you start tuning with link you will be able to adjust timing more accurately. It's tough to say where you want to set your timing. You pretty much advance your timing till you get knock.
what are you getting coated? I googled seattle powder coating and got quit a few results. I know bone head performance and ffwdconnection both do powder coating.

you'll need an afc or some way to controll your fuel. Thats too much injector for a stock ecu.in the tech section of the home page of this forum there is an upgrade path for both 1g and 2g dsm's. This will help you keep your car in order.

Update. I got my 2.3 running and it's awsome. I consulted SBR and went with the Baby Kahuna. I had my car dyno tuned on a Dynojet last week. I am running 19psi on pump gas laying down 309 awhp. The turbo starts to spool at 3500 rpm and full boost at 4200.
