    well I actually ended up finding a slave that almost bolts right on that was a hair smaller than stock. It's off a 3000gt vr-4. They had an 11/16th bore slave instead of the 3/4 like ours. I installed it on my car, and it makes a world of difference. Just thought i'd share the knowledge.

    if you do get it rebuilt do it right. i took the altenator in my z from 70 amps (way too small) to over 200 amps by double winding the stator, putting bigger diodes in and just a regular rebuild otherwise.

    yes a good altenator puts out 14.7V but the systems on the car are all classified as 12V. if say he was trying to run a stereo amp at 24V which is common and he just upped the whole system to that he'd fry his ecu and just about every electronic on the car.

    yes it could work for us, but why would you want to do it? I'm assuming your trying to get higher voltage to a stereo amp? If so theres a better way to do it, because if you raise the voltage too much you'll fry out the electronics on the car that are meant for 12v.
