Synthetic oil is neither thicker or thinner then conventional, it depends on viscosity. The common saying is that synthetic makes your car leak oil, which is true in a sense. If you have a somewhat aged car with nicely cracked gaskets, synthetic oil will soften them up and cause a leak :notgood:

Ok, so in my 95 GSX, I havent changed the tire size, the gearing, nothing. Yet when my speedo is reading 60 mph, I am actually going a lot slower. Anybody have any idea what might be causing this? I thought maybe the guy before me, when he put in aftermarket white faces, might have put the mph...
True, but im just making the point of how you can feel the power and joy of driving the same thru an auto then you can a 5 speed, with the right stuff. Dont get me wrong, i love 5 speeds, and considered the swap myself at one point.
A friend of mine hopes to swap out his auto for a 5 speed in his AWD this winter, i tried to convince him not to but it has high mileage, so it might be for the best. No one around here has ever done it, and its probably going to take both of us quite a while :cool:
