Sounds like you need a new oil cap. ;) When they get old the seal usually weakens or cranks and will leak oil down into you valve cover valley. :thumb:
It all depends on what you are tuning with. If you want the cheap route, 750cc injectors and Apexi Neo (since AFC II is discontinued). However tuning 750cc injectors with the Apexi is going to be very time consuming and difficult. If you want the easiest tune I recommend taking the DSM link...
If you don't mind me asking why do you want to go with a hard line? In my opinion that is going to be VERY hard to work with. Especially if you want to pull it from the oil filter housing. You are going to have atleast 24" of hard line to work with. If you want to save yourself a headache I...
Travis,You say you are trying to attempt to run a t3/t4 however there are alot of variances out there. Whether it be BB or 360 thrust will change the fitting that you will have going into the center section. I would recommend a stainless steel line. Something like this shown here...
Every car is going to be a little different as not every set of injectors is going to flow exactly 550cc or 560cc. Everything is going to differ per vehicle. You are going to have to play a little bit but it is generally between 38 and 43. :thumb:
Agreed. Simple maintenance first before going crazy. Greg is correct in telling you to check compression and having you check your plugs as well. Also, boost leak test.:beatentodeath: Being new to thse cars you will learn fast enough that any small boost / vaccum leak can cause one hell of a...
He is correct. Unless you have damaged cylinder walls that will need cleaned up you can stay with standard. If there is damage your machine shop will be able to tell you at what bore size it will clean up. As far as the bearing size this is for if you have a remaned cut crank. If you have a...
My 21st birthday, now that was fun. First we started off at UNO's, had a nice dinner and a few beers with my girlfriend at the time. Then the fun began. All my best friends I grew up with also just came home from Kosovo about this time as well. So not only was this a birthday party but a...
Wow, weird. When I was living in both PA and NY it was 18, and everywhere else I have traveled. You guys are a bunch of freaks! ROFLOr maybe I am just getting old, haven't got carded in awhile and haven't paid any attention to change.
White smoke is generally coolant. Sounds like a blown head gasket to me. This could also make your compression numbers off. As far as the oil in the intercooler that is more than likely from the turbo when it was blown. With the bad seals it was pushing oil out the j-pipe to the LICP and...
All dual ball bearing centers are water and oil. For the o2 housing you will have to custom fab something yourself. Are you purchasing a 5 bolt or 4 bolt outlet? If it is a 4 bolt the WG has to be on the manifold. If it is a 5 bolt you can do either or. If on the manifold the block off the...
I second that advice. Adjustment on the clutch can be changed by the rod and bolt going to the back of the pedal assembly. Also, a tell tale sign of some leakage would be some on the floor board by your feet. Let us know what you find.
Is it a mitsu flange or a t3 flange? You will need a different oil feed and oil return as they have different center sections. The stock water lines will fit with some minor tweaking. Depending on the compressor cover you go with the intake you have now for the scm61 may or may not fit. I...
You will just have one heck of an exhaust leak but driving it for 5 feet into the garage wont hurt anything especially since in that short distance I doubt you would be trying to open a wastegate anyways. :thumb:
Yes, heat shields are there for a reason gentlemen. If you don't have one I highly suggest heat wrap. Not only does it prevent the misfortune of melting fans but it does serve a performance purpose. Here it is ladies and germs;Hot air moves faster than cold air. You keep that heat...
Now that's not entirely fair. Quite a few hardcore DSMer's I know don't do all the work and diagnosis themselves. Alot of them lack the tools, garage space, and or time. Just because you lack in these things doesn't mean you don't have just as much love as any other DSMer.
First off do a boost leak test to make sure you have none after a change like that.Second, the t-25 is going to be more effecient on that setup at 12lbs than the 16g. Now if you upgrade your fuel system( injectors, pump, afc or link) and turn up the boost to about 18lbs you will see one...
What turbo are you running? If you are running a 16g or something similar like that and want to stick with that, then yes 2.5 will work fine for you. If you are looking to go bigger then I would suggest going to 3". The less restriction you have the faster you can move the exhaust gas. This...
The wiring is different between the two. Also, unless you do some major gear work on the tranny you will never see more than 152 tops. Our cars aren't the safest thing above 140 anyways.Oh and by the way, you wouldn't see that trap speed in the 1/4 mile unless you had alot of work done...
Sorry, I don't have speakers on the computer I am currently located at so I cannot listen to the sound however I will throwout a possibility. If you have it perfectly timed like you say you do it could very well be a collapsed lifter. They will make an ungodly noise that makes your heart sink...
If you are an automatic, then yes you will need different lines. The automatic's had shorter lines to make up the difference on the smaller turbo. The lines that need changed will be the water lines, and I would suggest changing the oil feed and return as well.

I agree, curiousity does not lead nor point to laziness. He asked the question and recieved the answers he was looking for. End of discussion IMO.Hey Bruce. :)
Yes, you can run a 16g without the water lines. Like stated before you will have to have cool down time with the turbo, so a turbo timer will be best. The actual gain from it...none that are worthwhile that come to mind. If you worried about that 1lb for at the track, don't eat that double...
I'm sure it will be ruined just like all of my other favorite childhood stories. :beatentodeath:Is it just me or has the imagination factor in movies gone down the toilet? Noone can come up with their own original idea. They take other people's ideas and then ruin the story line. Or it...
