    Looking at 99GSX overheat condition

Just because you haven't seen it doesn't mean that it is not true. I am not saying that this is the OP's issue but my TSI had a faulty sensor and it would often not start and just flood itself, the sensor was my only CEL and as soon as I changed it problem solved, so it is possible.

New Key Doesn't Work in Old Lock?

I payed something like 11 dollars for my key at the locksmith. They looked up the code off of my original talon key, put it in their computer and made me a brand new key, worked perfect. I originally tried a key from home depot and it would not work in the doors or hatch, only sometimes in the...

new turbo + mbc = overboost

If your MBC is not functioning correctly you should connect a line from the wastegate to a nipple on the compressor housing or j-pipe. Have you re-done a boost leak test after the ebay rs install? Usually they are big pieces of junk that leak like hell and that's something you should keep an...

    new tranny question

I believe the spline count is different between the 90 and 91-94's, look into that before you jump the gun and buy it.

    New BOV =D

Only 10 lbs of boost atm, as soon as I get my new act 2100 and fidanza flywheel and double check for boost leaks, I hope to run 15 psi.

    New BOV =D

Well a buddy of mine gave me an early birthday present, a greddy type RS Bov. Installed it today, no main issues there, sounds nice and sounds like it releases well. How do I know if I have to adjust it though? I don't believe I'm hearing any kind of fluttering or surge so I'm not sure. If I...

Finally getting some things done, need some help though

My mechanic said something to be about possibly not being able to resurface it due to cracks from heat or something, is this true? If so does it happen often? If I don't have to buy a new flywheel that will make things better, then I can buy an act 2100 with the streetdisk and not break my bank...

Finally getting some things done, need some help though

So I finally got around to doing a few things to get my car back up and running. I changed my coolant temperature sensor and pcv valve. Lets just say I didn't exactly let the car cool down long enough, and wow it was hot. But anyways, I still need to do a clutch and power steering pump. I...

What to log with MMCD on my 1g.

I FINALLY got a cable so I can log the info from my car and hopefully up my boost soon! Anyways, I'm trying to figure what exactly I should be logging. I tried searching but I couldn't find exactly what I was looking for, maybe I didn't search the right thing. Anyways I am using MMCd 1.8 I think...

    Almost gave up

Well I almost gave up the dream of having a damn nice DSM. The car was put up for sale locally and I got some decent offers on it, but I couldn't just come to sell it. But boy is she in some rough shape. She currently needs, a new CAS, new power steering pump, new clutch, new pcv valve. I know...

    tracking down the right t-fitting

Get a NPT barbed fitting, I can't recall the size I think it's 1/8" and use a a rubber hose (I used hose made for window wash from napa) It will prevent the headaches and hassles from kinks and eliminate the need for a threaded T fitting. I did have hell finding one and ended up buying an...

stock clutch is biting the dust

I'm at the point now where the stock clutch is biting the dust after 120k. I want to upgrade but I am not sure what to get. The car won't be a drag car just something fun for the street. My eventual plans were to get the evo III big 16g, some 550's, a safc2 and the 190lph fuel pump. I would like...

It's a sealant, there are different kinds, I suppose its for where the hose connects to prevent leaking, but chime in here if I am wrong seeing as I am just speculating.

Where does a 1G CAS plug into?

It plugs into a connection that should be stuck on the firewall. I can't take a picture tonight, since it's obviously dark. If you don't figure it out by tomorrow I'll snap one and throw it up for ya.

Anyone have experience with the greddy full auto turbo timer?

I have the Blitz FATT, I had a similar problem. Mine was turning on and reading voltage, but would not add time to itself, and only time down if I preset the time. My alternator was on it's way out the door. You might wanna get that checked, otherwise maybe you can try resetting the unit.

Car not running on all 4 HELP!

Just a though, I had a similar problem a while back. Turns out for me my power transistor plug was only plugged in about half way due to the stupid shortness of the plug and something knocking it loose. I'm not sure if it's the same for the 92 as is the 90 I imagine so though. Give it a shot...

    How to Prime a Turbo

I know on my car it's in the fuse box near the battery. It may be the same for yours not sure. There are three fuses in mine, Ignition, MPI, and one other I forget. As for priming the turbo I'm not sure but hopefully your fuse is in the same spot.

What to do next and how much boost?

Yeah I second the logger, better to know what's going on in there then go in blind. Since you have a 1g you can get a set up fairly cheap. I believe I payed $30 for my palm and made my own cable - which was less then $15. There is a write up on here on making your own cable if you can use a...

    Hard LICP?

I was looking into the SSAC FMIC but the only thing I am weary about with a FMIC is cutting the cross beam. Plus will I be able to keep my AC/PS? It's hard to tell from so many threads around here. Some say yes, others say no. I basically am just looking for something that I can bolt up without...

    Hard LICP?

Hmm, I have a logger just need to finish making my cable. I think I may look into a FMIC now that I read what you said. Are there any negative effects to rewiring my fuel pump before upping the boost? If not it'd be something I'm willing to do. A little at a time they say.(P.S. Bruce, you've...

    Hard LICP?

    Hard LICP?

I've been looking around the forums and vendors for a hard LICP for a 1990. The only ones i saw for 1g was 91-94. Is it even worth trying to get a hard one? Is there anyone that makes one? Or do I have to make my own. Any info is appreciated.

My first car was a 93 1.8L 5 speed Plymouth Laser that was amazing for MPG. I was getting 28-30 city. Excellent fuel economy. On my current 90 Talon TSI I'm seeing about 22-23 city boosting often. 24-26 staying out of boost almost all the time. Highway I'm not sure seeing as I just started...

Frank, I really like your set up. Are you unable to choose the option for the car to take air from outside or recirculate? Or did you move it elsewhere. Otherwise it's a nice clean look. On another note, the way the lights look, from your camera?

Power unit, not firing on all cylinders?

He said above also check the coil, sometimes when they get hot they can fail. So like he said when you first start the car cold hold a hair dryer/heat gun blowing on the coil pack. If it shuts down you have a faulty one. I read on here, but don't understand why that certain components the power...

    No Spark help!

The wiring is correct and there is fuel. It was working fine for a while then it started becoming intermittent. It would start, then it wouldn't. It would start, run on three cylinders. So I now have no spark. I put the #1 piston to TDC, took out the cas and spun the piece on it. I hear spark, but there is none when the car is trying to start. Does this mean my coil pack is bad?
