Has anyone done it or figured out a reliable, repeatable way to do it? I had horrible shaft seal leaks so I installed a 1G throttle body with new seals today. I started the car and it idled at 3,000rpm. Went back and checked under the hood... stupid me didn't plug the ISC back in. :coy...
Hopefully that cleared it up. Corey was kind of speechless that Josh's rep had spread all the way to this board.
He's to you and I both hoping he gets fired :thumbsup:Back on topic...Gst18, how's the manifold coming along? I'm still waiting on my flange from RRE (ordered a week ago).
Dear sweet mother, I can't wait to show the shop owner this post. As a matter of fact I'm going to call him right now. This is just too awsome, I love being right.ROFLHere's the deal. My friend Corey and I have been working on Hondas for awhile. Corey met Josh about a year ago. Corey...
I took my a/c out, so I just won't touch the button. I just want 1 fan on for low and 2 fans on for high while using as much of the stock wiring as possible (or all of it preferably).
Hmm, yea that's the exact same stuff I have. Looks a lot thicker than 0.1" though.. I could measure it when I get back home. Are you sure it's not cast? Mine is sand cast and that piece looks identical.
You mean something like this... http://www.ccfabonline.com/displayProductDocument.hg?productId=3&categoryId=4That's already made and will be included in the dyno test. Any other ideas?
It will be. I'd never put a wastegate off a runner. And brute, that's totally incorrect. People just use poor quality, thin tubing. We use very thick cast stainless bends. So technically, it is cast metal. Honda people have been running our manifolds for going on 2 years now with no...
PM me if you want, I have divided T3 flanges.I need to measure the bends I have, but the walls are definately way thicker than that. Are you using regular SS pipe or is it the cast SS bends?
I'm looking for some people with experiences using different styles of tubular manifolds (T3). It doesn't matter if you made 500hp on manifold A and someone else's car made 700hp on manifold B. I want to hear from someone that tried manifold A and then made 20hp more with manifold B, just...
Whatever you feel like contributing. Electronics isn't really my thing so I couldn't figure it out on my own, hence the thread.:thumb:I never thought about that fan not staying on. I was under the impression that it just gave extra current through the high speed wires, or does it just...
The short answer... no.Every car feels different. You can't compare your car to your friend's 240. I didn't think my 2100 was very heavy. Maybe there's something wrong with yours??
Just a quick question to run by the wiring people. After much searching and looking through the neverending disagreement about the correct way to wire a slim fan, I decided to go with the people that say to just wire it to the low speed. Now my question is. Can I run 2 fans, one wired to...
Dumbest idea ever. The exhuast restriction of a turbo with the parasitic loss from a supercharger. It's for Cobalt/Ion or Cooper S owners that are too lazy or cheap to buy a new intake manifold for a turbo conversion.
Ghetto rigging FTW!VW is just beyond dumb. They couldn't physically...
I'm in the same boat right now. So let me know what you come up with and we can compare designs. I'm using 1.5" stainless which needs to be ovaled a little to match the port. There's much less room to work with then I thought there would be, but we'll be making a custom downpipe also, so that...
Excessive pulse width means his injectors could be at too high of a duty cycle, hence running lean, and hence the knock. If you see knock that is DIRECTLY corrisponding to how long the injectors are open, there's a good chance its fuel related and no chance that it's just a coincidence...
Cool, thanks. I just realized that the carts are scaled differently so they don't really directly compare. But at least we can see the difference in shape.:thumb:
Nooooo don't block off the valve cover! I think we can all agree on that. The engine needs some way to relieve crankcase pressure.Just leave it venting if that's what you've been doing and it's working.
Ok so based on that Garret article, the S cover would just make me look badass and not do too much for IATs or flow.So if anyone cares, final decision is the 3"/2" E cover, .63 4 bolt turbine housing, and 76 trim turbine. Thanks for the help and info everyone.:thumb:
I meant compressor housing A/R, just to clarify that.I have no idea how that effects anything. Maybe it works the same as turbine A/R?Alright so I'm starting to figure it's going to be the E cover with a 4 bolt. I haven't been following your thread too closely, did you decide on a...
I'd have to say it's the later. Don't hate because I disagree with you, because that's really the only problem anyone on here has with me. Any time I disagree I'm an asshole or not being civil. I don't see any non-civil thing that I've said in this topic, but yet I'm back to being an asshole...
Trust me, people have come up with more off topic and dumber responses to my posts than comparing breast sizes. It just goes along with being the most hated person on the board. I love it. It was about as called for as wanting to thank the lady that totaled my car, asshole. That's pretty...
I back up my bold statement with his test. I just went through how I came to that conclusion.mechanical purge > exhaust purge > vented > intake purge > stock That was the conclusion of the test. You need the slash cut tube to pull the vacuum in the intake tube, just like in the...
Just looked at your log. There's a chance that that could be real knock. It corrisponds pretty well with the injector pulse width. Do what I said to check your AFR and make sure the WB sensor is in good condition (although the ones I've seen tend to fail lean, not rich). Then again, it could...
Thanks.:thumb:I didn't actually read your original post, I just read the title and quick replied. I just realized it had nothing to do with your original post.:coy:It is possible to run so lean that the mixture never ignites and all the fuel just dumps out the exhaust and onto the...
Just go to the "etc" menu and select "initialize". This sets it back to exactly how I came from the box. You'll have to select the number of cylinders, airflow meter type, and TPS signal range again though.
Yea you missed the part where he said he could NOT recommend intake manifold vacuum assisted PCV to anyone (regardless of catch can or not), it just doesn't work how you need it to.Unless you want to go through all the trouble of an exhaust purge method (I don't know many people that will)...
Oops, sorry daren I missed your post. The manifold is getting custom made to fit whatever setup I go with. I'm thinking something along the lines of what topstreet is running on his car that sets the turbo off to the passenger side more. I want a nice easy 90* for the downpipe (also custom)...
The S comes ported and unported, so that makes you half right (nothing new:p ).The 3076R is a 56 trim but it's from a totally different family, and come on, it's a GT series so of course it has a pretty map. New technology ownz joo. I'm comparing T04E series wheels to each other. If you...
It's a matter of flow and IAT, not surge. I'm just exploring it as an option; they must offer it for a reason. I can always sell the housing if it doesn't perform how I want. The 54 and 57 trims have very poor looking compressor maps for my intended use and even though a GT3076 would be...
In case anyone is too lazy to click it.Bottom line? Stock setup does what I always said it did, gives you the exact opposite of what you want or need. The vacuum is present only when you don't need it and it's not there (more likely you're pressurizing your crankcase because PCV valves...
The 50 series PTEs that Extremepsi sells are offered with optional S covers. I had a feeling it would run into the exact kind of flow issues you mentioned, but I was still curious because of the fact that it is offered...
Just like the title says. I'm assuming the map would be different with the wheel in another housing. Does anyone have a map or know how it effects flow and surge threshold?
Don't feel stupid, we were all new once.
Here's more than you'll ever want to know...http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1199935Any questions, feel free to PM/AIM. I don't want to hijack this guy's thread.
