If any ones around i'll be at ma and pa's just wave your arm out the sun roof at around 2 miles and i wont pick you off with the barret .50 on the roof. mid to long distance cz-750, 200yds ar's , get too close and the raging judge does its job. remember, wave
Not sure the motor is the best idea for your goals. Check your compression first, if it's good your ahead of the game. The time spent working out the bugs after you pull your motor, time spent PROPERLY breaking in your engine, metal particular from break in potentialy going through your...
so after looking around and searching I haven't come up with a company who makes a vband o2 housing for a hoslet. You would think that some one would have come up with one by now, or am I missing something?
I know the feeling, Mine has been sitting for almost 3 years I walk past it in the garage every day on my way to the cars I drive daily. This seems like a pretty rough talon tantrum, I hope they arent all that bad. I decided that my car was just lazy and prefers the comfort of a nice set of...
Jkimes- I have the dark performance manifold as well, If your handy with a welder its not to tough to modify it to work as a true divided. I cut the crossover pipe and plugged it. I will see how well the 45mm wg will hold boost in a week or so when i get the o2 housing finished. I left enough...
yep, in a 2g, that link has good directions. I didnt get a chance to see what you were using for ems, its alot easier to set your base timing with a dsmlink using that cas.
the divider was my initial thought on solving the problem, after looking in to it and trying to get a machine shop to contour the end of the divider to the profile of the valve on the waste gate I decided to pass on that one. If that pair of cyl are running lean they should have an egt a little...
From reading about the divided set ups it seems that the connected wastegate ports more or less defeats the purpose of separating the exhaust pulses from each other. My plan:
Cut off the exhaust tube
cap off the hole in the flanged side
Add a flange on the non flanged side and use it to cap...
hang on a min. the cam gears have absolutely nothing to do with the cam angle sensor or crank angle sensor period. with the 1g cas the keyed slot is on the opposite end of the intake cam cam with the 95 and 96 the crank angle sensor is on the crank, behind the crank timing belt gear.
each mod in that list on its own the effects are negligible. The mods in the lists work together. If all you want is instant power toss on a 200 shot of n20. you'll be fast, one time. dsms are moody and finicky if your PATIENT and take your time doing things right there will be a pay off at the...
in my case i was wondering if it would help lower my oil pressure, I have decked my head twice, once when it was built and again when the hg went. I was thinking that when i have the restricter placed at the turbo that the excess pressure would go threw the head. I might try just to see what happens
I dont think that this is a wide body kit. its a stock 2gb front, with fender flares, dont remember the names of the side skirts, looks like a custom set of rear fender flares and a blitz type rear bumper. I like the flares, esp in the rear. nice looking.
ok, so lets see if i'm thinking correctly here. so, the only oil feed for the head is threw the head stud and most people are increasing the size of their head studs restricting the supply flow. now if we put a tee in the turbo feed line off of the oil filter housing and ran the extra side of...
to bad your so far away, i have an aluminum vac table top 5' x 5' sitting in the garage with a gast rotory vein pump as well. if your ever in WI let me know.
thanks guys, the pic was a real help. i am going to have to dig threw the car and see if there are any parts left from the dash laying around. I have a 95 talon for interior parts that i need. sad to say that this one is turning rwd and getting a 383 stroker. havent decided on a tranny yet...
ok, so I bought a spider from the scrap yard, saved it from the crusher. feels kind of like adopting an unwanted puppy. neways, the interior is gutted, having never owned a spider where is the button to put the roof down? any help or a pic would be great.
thanks
to be honest it looks like slag, what was the housing from? looks like something got very hot and let loose. maybe its just the pic but if you look closley its all thew the exhaust exit as well.
So I am sitting here with my hx-40... changed my mind once again. What would be the smallest t4 flanged divided housing for the hot side thats avalable, any ideas where i might come accross one?
thanks
It was one of those I wonder if thoughts. I have a 16cm t3 housing for it. just thought that the 10cm housing would be a little better for spool and it has a pretty large internal gate. I wont worry about it any more. is the is the jm fab the only t3 twinscroll housing avalable at the moment...
I am curious, has any one tried using one of the super 20g series exhaust housings with the hx40? the oil seal went out on my super 20, I have a hx40 laying here and am curious if I could get it to fit.
I have a 97 galant block and crank, there is a place for the knock sensor. actualy there are a few holes on the back of the block that we dont use just pick one that fits the sensor and skrew it in.
funny stuff this crank walking... I had my fresh built 4g64 (2.4) 7 bolt destroy the mains after 12 miles yes 12 thankfully the machine shop covered it. they blamed the clutch adjustment and replaced the mains with mains that were groved to promote oil flow. I only have 400 miles on the motor...
I had the same problem, i was blaming a vpc, untill i took it out and put in the stock injectors. I tried every thing, even with the dsm link and 950cc injectors it didnt go away. tore the motor out and had the head rebuilt with a diff block...havent had the problem since. I would check the...
I decided and bought a new holset hx40 6 blade compressor. I will see how it goes and decide if i want the billet wheel later. after i figured out what bep stood for i found there websight. I am planning on ordering a .7ish ar t3 housing. not sure if it will fit with my manifold but its worth a...
Thanks for taking the time to help me out. I have read threw about 20 pages of the holset thread pt4. I was considering just buying a new one from one of the links u had posted above the compresor maps. the only problem i am having is figureing out what turbos are what from the numbers given. I...
I am not particular to any brand, I have been out of the dsm world for about 3 years. I got frustrated with the car and quit working on it. I got an itch the other day found out why it was smoking (80psi of oil pressure at idle) oil seals in turbo are leaking. I have a stock 2g manifold laying...
The time has come for me to replace my super 20g. I am looking towards the fp3065 or the fp3575. the mods are as follows
built 2.4
magnus head w/oversized valves 272 cams
magnus smim
3" exhaust
1000cc injectors
built tranny ect....
I am looking to get around 450-500 awhp. The car will...
just out in a new motor and still have this problem, when ever I get on the car, wot, it misses from 4k to 5.5k rpms. I have timing set and have a dsm link and just keep getting missfire codes, normal for 1g cas swap. I will try and get a log tomrow. I have changed plugs from b6es to b7es and...
if you need help with the tig welding part shoot me a pm. i am north of madison about 20 min. I am pretty good with a tig welder, i just dont have a band saw or i would have already given this a shot.
well i pulled the head on my 2.4 7 bolt and with 300 miles on the last rebuild there were some nasty scores in the cylinder walls. not sure what from. so as far as i am concerned i am running on borrowed time. now i am looking for another 7 bolt 2.4 and i was wondering if any one knows when they...
i think that most after market springs will handle the 272's depends on what your goals are for the car. personal experiance has led me away from ferrea(sp) due to some broken outer springs. i switched to supertech. make sure you put in new valve seals and if you go with supertech get there...
I have had it with my seat brackets they are just too high. does any one know of a diffrent company or has any one modified the sparco seat brackets to get them lower? seats in question are a set of sparco milanos.
just thought i would let every one know, it was the valve seals. when the springs were changed the seals were not. the new springs took a smaller seal. the new seals fixed the problem. thanks for all the info and all your help
Ryan
I had been hoping that it wasnt the rings. i know at this point its just guessing but what are the chances of the rings going on all 4 pistons? i was just trying to think about what was done that affected all of the cylinders and had the potential to leak oil in. from the other shops i have...
did the compression test on friday the 20th. not too long ago. i was digging threw my parts and came across my old valve springs which reminded me, the shop changed out my valve springs because 2 of the outside ones were broken. i dont have any record of them chaging the valve seals though. all...
if the motor was running it was smoking, it did smoke less under boost. but, Due to the smoke and lack of break in the motor didnt see much boost 4 lbs max, waste gate was wired open. the turbo doesnt have any play in or out checked it today. i havent gotten to taking off the manifold yet. what...
did the compression test 1,2,3,4 respectively are as follows 180, 180, 178, 182 9:1 2.4l I think that eleminates the rings which is a plus, that leaves the head and valve seals. the head was built up in canada less than 2500 miles ago, but after having 2 sets of mains go threw the motor could...
well last night, after letting my car sit all summer due to the smoke screen that was comming out of my exhaust, I pulled the plugs. the spark plugs were driping with oil. I checked the intake track and there was a very thin film of oil , not enough to show any coloring on the manifold insides...
I know that there is coolent circulated threw the TB on the bottom side, right before the intake manifold. as far as coolent thew the manifold, i havent ever noticed any thing there just the egr. i will go take a look at my stock manifold for u tonight and do my best to let u know tomorow some time.
where r u at? has that tranny ever been out of the car? if it has been out I would be more than willing to help u out with the clutch. I have a few act disks with low miles. every time I take the motor out I just change the clutch, preventive matinentce. one has about 5k on it. I will see if I...
I did adjust the peddle I had about 1/4 inch of free play, the aluminum fly wheel that is on the car is thicker than the stock so it sticks out further. there isnt an adjustment on the rod that pushes the shift fork. I am thinking that if I can move the whole assembly back just a small amount...
I am about 20 min north of madison, the motor and shop are in fond du lac. thats about an hour and a half strait up hwy 41. it is a 7 bolt, its a 97 galant block and crank. I know I should have done a 6 but I couldnt find any at the time.
well, only rod bearings 1 and 4 were bad. but...the thrust bearings were almost gone. the middle one ground its way in to the side of the crank about 1/8 of an inch. not sure if this is crank walk but if it is, I have a new theory. we looked every thing over, on the presure plate there was a...
