Hey, is there anyone around this area? I haven't noticed too many modified cars in the Jupiter area just yet, but I've only been here a week or so. If you're around and see a blue LS460 with Colorado plates, say what's up!-bobby
Located in colorado springs. Started a project and now have to move. Some good parts (most with just under 1k):Built motor
- 10:1 wiseco hd
- bc rods
- kelford 272
- act clutch and flywheel
- fluidyne full size radiator
Economy rebuild by jacks on the trans(no documentation)
Dsmlink v3...
I'm in the springs by Pete and I have a MacBook with the software. I have a 1g, so I can't help with the cable though. Let me know if you want to try it out.5613098123

Higher compression may have been a wiser choice. A friend of mine was trying to break 1000hp on a 4202 with low 8:1 compression and figured that he'd be doing 50lbs+ to get there while his buddy Mr Reichen was doing it at a much lesser 40lbs with much higher compression. Another friend with high...
I hope it doesn't take forever for this build, but I'm definitely going to look you up when it's done so you can see my results. :) like I said before, I'm not forging new ground. I had this plan when the 6262 came out forever ago, just gave up on the car.
The 6266 guy was a 1g. You keep mentioning the boost in the high 30's like its a bad thing. Why are you using a big turbo if you think boost in the 30's is a lot? There are plenty of people using the .82 and doing plenty well with it. I do have a specific setup in mind currently, but I'm always...
I'm going to watch the 6466 and see what kind of problems and failures happen. As for the dsm head and spinning to 8500, there's a guy that made 750awhp on just 36lbs and a 6266. Also it was a t3 .82. I've been reading quite a bit, but of course, I'll research the turbos that y'all are...
Nope, not coming back down. I've been talked into a 6466 in an .82 housing. Spools a bit sooner than I wanted, but is everything else that I wanted. I shouldn't have any problem getting good gas mileage on the highway either. Boom.
Hahaha! Like I said, I wouldn't mind an .82 housing. I just don't want something huge where I'd have to pull 9800 in first to get out of the hole. I want to take advantage of the smaller ports on the 2g head instead of having to spin forever to fill up the 1g head. People have been doing this...
It's a 2.0 with 10:1, it'll be a 2g head and Evo 3 intake. I have an old school kinetic/sbr fmic and whatever fuel mods I need (2150/2200 inj, 450lph or two). It'll be kiggly springs and 272's and an o-ringed head.I'm looking to hit full boost past 5k, but not spin past 8.2-8.5. I've never...
I will answer your question with numbers: 750hp +I want a laggy turbo so that I can attempt to get good gas mileage on e85. I've always liked my laggy turbos.
I don't want to spin it very high which is the reason for the .63. I have a friend (another one of those) that has done 708 on an old school t67 on his Evo with a .63 and only 37lbs. I'm also going to go with a 2g head and Evo 3 intake manifold for a while to see what I can do there. As far as...
I have been away from dsm's for a while and want to ask a few questions about a few turbos.First, my wish is to have a laggy turbo with a .63 t3 (possibly vband) housing. I was thinking of a 35r or a 67mm both bb.Questions:
How does the new gtx35r compare to the old? Is there a new 67mm...
So I have seen the fronts on a 1g, but has anyone done the rear Evo brakes on a 1g yet? If it is not possible, what are the other options for the rear?
Correct. After this BBQ, I'll probably come back and pull the timing cover and start it again to see if it's more audible. I do not have a stethoscope, but I don't want to drive it until I make sure it's gone or that it's not detrimental. I have only heard one other dsm that whined like this...
I did already run it without the belt and it still whined. I have a terrible memory. I'm going to check the timing belt tension next. It does seem to be unreasonably tight right before the exhaust cam gear.
I would only hope that all of the parts were new when the previous owner had this built. Either way, I'm glad I found this before it died completely and overheated in traffic. Even if it were new, theres still a chance it was bad from the factory. I'm going to get an oem one.
Still whines with the accessory belt off. When turning it manually, it's very hard! Could this be due to the high compression or should I be worried? I don't hear any whining yet, but I'm going to try again.
