What is the lift of the cams youre looking to get? Im running comp 280 cams 10.8mm lift) on my evo with stock prings no problem to 8k. I had some kelfords that I was going to run in it, but I didnt want to replace the springs yet. Those cams were 11.5mm lift.
Hey all,
I've been modding my dsm for quite a while now, and I've recently had nothing but problems with it. I was wondering if you guys could help me decide what I can and can't take with me to use on an evo. I also have some quesitons too.
1. 2g dsm and evo struts/springs compatable at...
The rings were gapped correctly. I put air into the cylinder an I could hear air coming out of the dipstick, but no more than all the other cylinders. The head was rebuilt less than 300 miles before the bottom end, but it was decked when I did the bottom end. Could. It be anything else than...
I decided to do a compression test on my new motor today, and I have some questions. Here's the results from the dry/wet compression tests:dry compression Wet compression
cyl1 142 155
cyl2 100 175???
cyl3 145 155
cyl4 145 155WTF is up with that? Since it went up with oil in the...
Ok thanks for the info. Why am I having such a hard time with these? I have 2 flexplates stacked and have used oem bolts and longer high grade bolts cut as long as possible without bottoming out too. Thanks sir,Josh
I took my xfer case off, and I can heli coil them if I can move my flex plates out of the way. Will the flex plates move if I crank on the motor and there's no bolts in the converter?
I've had this problem 3 times in the last few weeks. I go WOT and then all of the sudden I hear a lot of "clack clack clack" under the hood. It's always my converter bolts coming loose. Before I checked the threads on both the bolts and the converter to make sure theyre both clean, and use red...
Ok thanks guys. How does the helicoil stop from just going all the way through the bolt hole and falling out the other side? Should I not drill out the hole all the way so it has something to butt up against? Thanks
So I stripped some of the threads on my intake mani where I bolt up my throttle body... Can I use a heli-coil there even though it's straight through unlike a broken exhaust manifold stud where it has something to bottom out on? Would this be ok?any other options? Thanks,Josh
500 is near the limit I've seen usually on stock lines with a different line from the filter to rail. People have ran fast and made good power on e85 and a stock filter.I just installed my in line Wally today and I'd be betting to say that the circle the fuel line does below the filter is a...
If you port the 2g go with that. If you're not going to port them I'd go with a 1g because of the bigger runners and also a bigger tb can bolt-on (if you have a 1g IM and tb)
Weird, cause I have a 1g head on my 7 bolt, and everything works great. Yes you need to use the sensors that come in your car, but they will all work in a 1g head no problem, and that should be no reason to stay with a 2g head.
Hey guys I thought I would post what I just found out on my oiling for my holset h1e. I'm using a new. Motor, bsek, evo 3 ofh that's been ported, 1g oil cooler, turbo is being fed from the ofh. Via -4an line to an OBX .065" restrictor. Here are the results on 20-50 conventional oil: (match the...
Low end until it knocks. It will help spool-time.Also, have you tried to up the boost anymore? What I see most peoples setups are mid-teens timing, lots of boost, and around 12:1 afr. This is usually on a little bigger turbo though if that helps at all.
You can put a 1g head on a 2g without any other modification, although I would advise to get a different IM.And the headstuts are totally dependant on which block is being used. You also don't have to bore out the headstud holes to do it like someone previously stated.
I finally figured it out for anyone who runs into this later.I found that my sandich adapter and/or 1g oil cooler was causing my low oil pressure. I decided to take it off and see what happens, and boom, 80psi at startup (which has never happened before). The question is why did it do...
I know this is old, but for anyone searching for an evoIII OFH, extremepsi has them in stock as well. I got it shipped to me within 2 days of my order.
I thought I got the center bearing in all the way on my bse kit, but I took the pan off again, and it's still not centered. Do I have to take my front case off to get to the bearing, or can I just take my pan off, like I have right now, and be able to kick it in a little more? Any info on how to...
Somewhere in the 28psi range? On what? Did you just make that number up?Not true about replacing every stock fuel and air part on the car either. Don't just start saying "replace this and that" before you really know what he needs.I've seen many 4g's right at the 500whp level with stock...
It's built inthe actual hose that goes to the brake booster. You can test it by spraying air in one side of it and them the other and see which way it will let air through to make sure you didn't put it on backwards.
I have an h1e with a bolt on housing, installed with a stock 2g mani and it fits fine. I dented the waterpipe, but found out afterwards that I didn't even need to.
I just drove it again, and found my previous oil leak was coming from the valve cover, which is awesome (that it was easy). I'm still having problems with my oil pressure however...I now get 10-12psi at idle (1k), and then it will climb when I rev it, but then, after about 3k, the pressure...
I think someone from SBR had a post about them using stroked pistons and long rods to make the piston/rod ratio crazy good so you could rev to the moon and back and have no problems.
Alright I took the timing belt cover off now, and I can see That I have an oil leak somewhere over there. Where all could there be oil leaks? Was this ported too far on my OFH?
Thanks for the responses.alright, fixed the BSE bearing. I took it for a drive tonight just to see what's going on after putting in 10w-40 oil in it to see if those two would solve my problem. They didn't.Oil pressure at idle is between 10-12psi at 1000rpms. At 2000rpms, pressure is...
This is my front bearing, with the new one pressed in. Does it look alright, or should it be more centered? Does it matter that it's off a little bit? I'm looking to put this back together and hopefully have it on the road ASAP.Thanks guys,Josh
I have a Holset H1E (similar to the 35r) and BC 280's and I decided to go with an inbetween CR because I wanted to be able to run pump if I needed to (closest E85 station is 2 hours away), but also be able to have good response with off-boost and daily driving.I went with 9:1 comp. so I...
I know what you were saying, I just didn't want him to think his bottom end was going to be the weak link in any way on that setup. If they're rated at 1000, and the standard wisecos have made a ton of hp as well, just wanted to make it clear
