Ill try to make this short and sweet. I picked up this 95 tsi about a year ago. Drove the car on the trailer and brought it home. Pulled the motor and trans. Rebuilt the motor and threw the trans back in.The car supposedly had an IPT built trans with a Translab shift kit and an IPT high stall...
Make sure the coolant temp sensor is hooked up and you are getting a reading. If its not the car will be a pain to start because the ecu can't tell what to do with a cold start. May not be the issue but I just had the same problem with my junk!
Just picked up an 8 blade hx35 for my auto 2g today. Question is should I go with the BEP .55 A/R housing or wait for when FP releases there .69 A/R housing? I have read that the .55 housing will flow to the potential of the turbo and I know the the .55 housing would spool quicker which appeals...
Hey guys! I have neen a long time member of the site and in the dsm world but have never posted a build thread so here it goes. Ill start by introducing myself and then the build with some pictures. I am about 50% through the build so there is be updating as it goes.
My name is Nate Myers. I...
The more back pressure you have the more boost creep you get. I bet if you open your cut out completely you will see the boost creep go away. Theory behind it is just like porting your housing and bigger flapper to control boost better. If you don't have anywhere for the pressure to go its got...
Just an FYI! FP is I the process of redesigning one of there hot sides to Bol up to te HX35. This hotside will be a bolt on .69 A/R housing. Didn't know I knew about this yet but I'm hiding off on the new housing for my set up
You can pickup a nice set of Megan coil overs which are great. They have a lot of adjustability for dampness and Lucan adjust the ride height to right where you want it.
Personally I would only run oem. Be careful with reman cranks bc they are normally cut .010 to .030 under causing you to run oversized bearings, so checking your clearances is a must. Also need to be careful when buying a cut crank that not much material is taken off bc there is a certain...
Make sure you have good fuel pressure. If you spark and you are getting air then you need fuel. It could also be a cas sensor or something not timed right.
I have a set f comp 101200 cams and they are pretty lopy. What is your idle set at. Higher idle less lop but if its too low the car will also want to stall out
From past experience I would take your stuff to get machined from a place that has experience in dsm type engines. I had a horrible encounter this past summer with getting my stuff machined. I'm getting ready to start a build tread that will go over the trouble I had with a local shop.
We never ran E85 in that car but we did in a lot of 35r and 37r built evos and I was very impressed with the power we were able to pull out of them. E85 is good stuff, I would love to run it in my DD but its s till hard to find over this way.
The starter is always grounded to frame. There is a lead black w/ yellow that goes from the neg terminal on the battery to the top tranny bolt. This makes the frame and negative battery the same potential! You are wiring the positive lead to the wrong terminal on the starter. One terminal will...
That is a narrow band and they are junk and don't read correctly. What you need is a AEM UGO wideband. This displays the cars actual raw air/fuel ratio so you know if its lean or rich. Also wouldn't trust that manifold at all it looks like they really hatched that one up. I'm thinking I they put...
On the old Tpg Tuning 2G we ran he GT4202 and it was a great turbo. From the research and people we talked to they said was not much of a spool difference from a GT4202r and the GT4202 JB because with the weight of the turbine wheel on either turbo it still took almost the same amount time for...
If your block is toast are just wanting to swap those pistons into a good block? You could also get a set of Nippon pistons for fairly cheap if you do a rebuild.Just realized they are wiseco pistons so that's why you want to reuse them.disregard the Nippon pistons I thought you were looking...
I'm finishing up a build right now and I cut the long nipples coming off the OFH and welded them closed. Got a new water pipe from a 2.4l it doesn't have the extra nipples for the lines. I'll probably run some sort of oil cooler in the future to keep it cool and then feed the turbo from it as...
Ecmlink v3, wideband, boost controller, boost and oil psi gauges. Also if you have a 255 pump you ma need a fuel pressure regulator. The 255 hp will overrun your stock regulator and your fuel pressure can bounce around making tuning a headache!
The Bov is to release the excess boost pressure in the charge pipe when you let off the gas (throttle body flapper closes). The vacuum from the engine pulls the plunger on he bov and releases pressure. If we had no Bov the excess pressure would go back into the turbo causing a surge and this...
Translators are horrible for tuning. If you can't dsmlink then I would pickup a safc and just zero out the translator. Check ## Afr's and start taking fuel out where you need to with the safc. You can probably find a couple safc's for cheap. I think I even have a few laying around from past...
Sounds like the clutch disk must have been seriously glazed over one point in time for it to slip that bad. When you are able to get it to drive (move) have you tried to get into boost and see what it does. If it is slipping that bad then as soon as the car starts to make some power your rpms...
Great stuff guys... I cant wait to start on my project 1g this winter. I had to buy something to have fun with since I sold the Evo. I got some big plans so I guess well see what happens this coming year. Congrats Fellas
Have'nt seen mine on here yet... I am an Electrical Foreman for and Underground Coal mine in WV. I'm 23 and been in the mining industry since I was 19. Make damn good money but no time to spend it. Also Ive owned a 93 N/T talon, 95 N/T talon/ 99 GSX/ 2006 Evo/ and now just got my new toy which...
Yo buddy this is Nate.. we are from morgantown. If u want to check us out go to www.tpgtuning.com. we currently own the quickest and fastest 4 cyl in the world on pump gas.
i had a 16g that did the same thing... its really no big deal other then u sound like u have one helll of a exhaust leak at idle. But it wont result in power loss or nething of that nature
Well guys good luck at test and tune on wed. to bad ill be down in s.c. ill call one of ya and see what the runs were.. ill catch up u guys on fri/sat to get ready to head to the shootout..Nate M
