One of the biggest benefits of dentistry is owning your own business. I think you will have a hard time finding a dentist to work for you. They can easily join another practice as a partner and make more money. Also, if you're going to own the business, it's going to be a little hands on and...
Thanks for the advice... Yeah I don't think it's been tampered with, but just want to make sure. I mean he's obviously asking a lot more than blue book for it since it's rare and I don't want to end up getting ripped off. I will definitely post pics if I get it.
Alright so I found a really clean, low mileage 99 gsx. It's basically my dream dsm - white exterior with black interior, completely stock, like 48k mi. So everything looks good. My question is, how do I tell if it's actually original miles or if it was tampered with? I didn't even really think...
Mine didn't hurt at all. I had some pulled, some extracted because they were so deep and coming in at an angle. I went out that night and partied, never took any meds and I was fine. Not saying everyone will react so kindly to this procedure, I'm sure glad I did though. It could be a combination...
I asked him about the license plate, cause I never had a front one, and it's just ziptied around, no holes, luckily. Also, the valve cover and such got a little beat up, but nothing that can't be fixed. The engine bay was a lot cleaner when I had it, but it'll just need a little degreaser and...
Alright, so I sold my talon 2 years ago because of various reasons. I didn't want to and I've missed it since. I built it from the ground up, everything from cosmetics to sound to performance. I have accumulated 2 shells since then and a lot of parts, but I haven't had time to build another car...
Try posting in the regional section, or maybe even some local forums. Also, for the future, save your settings on your laptop so when this happens again you can just reapply the tune and not have to worry about redoing it.
I'm pretty sure those are ebay seats. This is already a huge debate on here... try searching. Most of the people tell you not to buy them because they are cheap peices of crap that could crack if you crash and then you die. Others say they're just fine and use them. I personally wouldn't put my...
I'm just going to go out on a limb here and say, maybe not everyone has a welder or access to one. If you really lose sleep over knowing your car has bondo on it, you really need to re-prioritize. These are just cars; old, cheap ones at that. Not knocking them, because I love them, but don't kid...
I believe that you can actually have it hooked up with a t25 actuator and it will work. When I installed my cyclone, I did tons of research and came across people doing this. The problem is, the manifold runners are designed to be activated at a certain rpm. With the traditional way of hooking...
2g Autos and 5spds have the exact same turbo and manifolds. 1g autos and 5spds have different turbos, but same manifold. Why did you look up a code that you didn't throw? P1105 shows up as fuel pressure solenoid valve. Check that and see if that fixes it.
So much for getting to the dent in the rear quarter from the inside. I ripped apart the whole interior and there's no way to get to it. I'll have to wait until I get that tool I guess...
Yeah, I know what you meant. I had an OEM style 97-99 on my last talon, but from an aftermarket company, and I thought fitment was just ok. The bottom seemed to be warped once it was on (which took a lot of pulling and maneuvering to even get on) and I had to ziptie the bottom up to various...
Thanks for the tips on getting that dent out... I will try from the inside, but like you said and what I thought, is that it's tough to get to from the inside. As for the bumper, I bought an aftermarket one for my last car and the fitment was complete crap. I thought the OEM would fit a lot...
Thanks for the advice... the slit in the sideskirt goes all the way through. Is the body filler special for sideskirts or the same filler used on the rest of the car?
Thanks for the tips everyone, I really appreciate it. I'll try getting to the dent from the interior. The car is getting painted anyways, so I figured paintless dent removal would be costly and not necessary in my case. I'll let you guys know how it turns out. Thanks.
Alright, so the shell I bought has some dents that need to be fixed and I also picked up some 2gb bumpers and sideskirts that have a little damage. I have never done any body work, so I need your guys help. I've been reading various threads and googling how to paint a car, and I have the jist of...
I don't know if I can't understand the way you worded it, but I think you've got it wrong. 2gb lights are "shorter" than 2ga lights. SO 2gb lights on a 2ga bumper leave a gap between the headlight and bumper. 2ga lights cannot fit with a 2gb bumper as far as I know...
Yeah, I was thinking something like an aluminum box, but I kind of like your caulk idea. I think I will try the caulk/silicone method first, because I believe it will keep out water really well. But if it doesn't, I'll try make a box or something. BTW, water isn't that big of a concern for me...
LOL That's what I was worried about. Thanks for the input, I thought about wrapping it somehow or even making a box type thing for it to be enclosed in.
Alright, so I was tinkering around under the hood today and was looking for a place to relocate the fuse box. At first, I was trying to fit it where the battery/emissions canister thing used to be, but I couldn't really get it to fit good there. Anyways, I ended up finding a decent spot where...
Thanks for the advice... the PP is smooth and discolored, but no cracks or anything. Why do you suggest not resurfacing it? (sorry I'm somewhat new to the whole resurfaces things and clutch/flywheels) Also, I have an ACT flywheel that I received with my shell that'll need resurfacing. Do you...
Well I was going through a box of dsm parts and found an ACT 2600 pp and two discs. 1 disc is toast, but the other looks like it is probably useable. As for the pressure plate, it looks toast to me, but I've never reused one before. Does this one look like it could be resurfaced? Or is the no...
You can run two projectors in your headlight, as in high beam and low beam. I'm pretty sure it's illegal though because of the warmup time or something with the HIDs. In the high beam, you need halogen bulbs so you can flash them and not need warm up time or something. I'm not positive on this...
Well after like a year and half of being DSMless, I decided I need to get back in it. I had an auto gsx that I had been parting out. I wanted to make it m/t. The engine is brand new in it, put in by a shop a couple years back, only 800 miles I put on it. Well, most of the interior was missing as...
Well after like a year and half of being DSMless, I decided I need to get back in it. I had an auto gsx that I had been parting out. I wanted to make it m/t. The engine is brand new in it, put in by a shop a couple years back, only 800 miles I put on it. Well, most of the interior was missing as...
Yeah, he will definitely be missed. The news was 24/7 Favre coverage. I, too, was fortunate enough to see this man play. My dad sold our playoff and championship game tickets, damn... I could've been at Favre's last game...
Yeah, I think I'll opt for the shell and if anything use the best pieces from both cars to make one good car. I might have a shell lined up for 1500 with everything but a motor and tcase, so all I'll need to buy is a tcase since I have a brand new motor.
I have an automatic GSX from when I was 15. Long story but engine blew, got a new one put it, and tranny went out. So it sat there for 2 years now or so. I have been selling of pieces, but I want to get back in the DSM game. I was looking at manual shells that need an engine, seems to be around...
Thanks for the input! I've never even been in one, so I'll see what it's like tomorrow hopefully. This one has a full exhaust and the APR chip, so it should be similar to your experience. What kind of problems did he run into? Obviously I am ready for problems as I am picking between a S4 and a...
I'm a long way from a house... But you are right about more important things. I did also consider getting a cheap car and then contributing the rest of the money into both my IRA and discretionary account, which I actively trade/invest in. (4 min til the bell and MTG is up 12% today, woohoo...
Yeah, I've been on the S4 forums for awhile, no one mentions stuff like that. Most people chip their ecu's for higher boost and just run the stock turbos out of their efficiency range. It wouldn't bother me to have to upgrade the turbos when they blow, but it's just that you have to pull the...
Thanks for the input guys... tough decision. As for keeping the IS, I absolutely loved the car and I found out I absolutely hate RWD for DD in WI winters. Believe me, not being able to move because of a little snow sucks. I really want awd again. I hear you about the performance and elegance of...
I did contemplate getting a cheaper car for DD, but I don't know if I like the idea or not. It's not like I'd be stuck an hour away, it's only an hour because of traffic. It's probably more like 40 min or so. The gas mileage doesn't bother me too much, my IS only got like 19-20 mpg and I was...
Well my choices really are between gsx and s4. I want awd and turbo. I don't really like the wrx all that much. Gas isn't a problem. I don't really want two cars though because I don't want to pay for insurance on both. My girlfriend and I split the driving to school, so I'd drive on average 2-3...
So, I finally sold my car today (2002 IS300). I am looking here for an unbiased opinion. Obviously it's a DSM site and I love them, but I'm between two cars. I am either going to get a B5 Audi S4 which has full exhaust, chip, stasis tranny, rs4 clutch, lowered, rims, some other things, but it...
Men's Health Redirect if you're serious about losing fat/gaining muscle/ getting into shape in general. They have many different philosophies, techniques, and helpful people. Just as Tuners is my favorite car, not dsm, CAR, forum, this one is my favorite fitness forum. You will get into shape...
Honestly, drinking is not bad for you... It's not like, well your 20, so your underage, that means alcohol is the devil, but next week when you're 21 it's just fine... If you;re responsible, it shouldnt be a problem... if youre irresponsible and immature, you shouldnt be drinking anyways. Im not...
I've ran both the to4e 50 trim .63, and the to4e 57 trim .63, and I'll have to agree with 99gstracer. I loved the 50 trim. When it went out on me, I ended up getting the 57 trim, which I felt put out a little less power, even tuned a little better. Overall, I think you'll be happier with the 50...
I bought my 95 gsx when I was 15, tranny went out, but I kept it and got a 96 talon tsi awd when I was 16. Had a 16g then 50 trim then 57 trim and then I ended up selling it just before I turned 18. I had an 11 sec car when I was 16 and now have a 16 second car at 18, almost 19 :) haha I'm still...
That sucks man, I had my timing belt slip once, but I fixed it before any damaged occurred, never drive on stuff that you think is ###ked up, haha. It's a good excuse to upgrade to a turbo dsm :)
