Man I've blown my turbo to stock side mount couplers on both ends 3 times in the last 2 weeks :eek:Maybe my side mount is clogged ?All stock Except 3" extreme catback+free mods all hard pipes type s bov.I'm so annoyed and afraid to wear anything nice since I may have to get on the...
Chris is a good guy and has taken good care of me price wise and tech support wise.
As far as the warrenty, /shrug
Chris, my spool still sucks lol we need to talk..........See this thread OP, http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=264304
its in turbo tech forum on here. more...
Because i've yet to meet or see a dsm that didn't tick regardless of what lifters they had, but with Lucas it stops, plain and simple it works.Maybe these "other" lifters will do the trick but as I said i've never seen any such thing personaly.
Sorry neighbor, I can't support that.I recently threw my maf-t on, set stock all nobs, blow through and didn't have to touch my safc-II.Now granted I later fixed some other issues and have since turned my safc-II up or down 1 point in a few of the 4k+ bands but nothing remotely needed...
ROFL ROFL Got you beat, 2 years at 22Psi ZERO issues :thumb:My only concern is nobody can get this G50 to spool to 20psi in under 4.5k RPM WTFCurrent profile.Went straight from the T25 to this, WAY better driveability, with the T25 I could barely do hills in the rain, boost comes...
Agree with this fellow. also as I have more or less the same car try these things,1) your temporary ecu is probly wrong, or busted, STOP using it before it fries a sensor or 12. Wait for yours, and make sure it looks good before installing it. also make sure they did/do it right this time...
Boost leak is air leaking out of your intercooler pipes, pressurized air can make all kindsa sounds when it finds a way to escape. If you have fluid leaking its not a boost leak, but a boost leak, if u think u have one, is a separete issue. :dsm:
Just use the appropriete amount of Lucas oil stabilizer each time you have your oil changed and you will never hear lifter tick again and your oil/motor will be cleaner happier for it.1 bottle does a couple oil changes, uses like a quart instead of 1 quart of oil, read the bottle, little bit...
Maf-t is the way to go, venting> recirculating in my book :thumb:If I could do my car over again I would get the maf-t before anything else, biggest improvement I did to my car aside from the 50trim turbo ROFLNow DSMLINK Doesn't do blow through, if I understand correctly, yet. That...
This could be any belt, the rack and pinion, or boostleak even, at idle, wot, acell, decell, park, drive, ?You should be able to listen to the bottom of the car at the rack, or top at the pump if its doing it in park, idle to tell whats makeing the sound. Also wheel bearings maybe...
Btw with my balance shafts disabled BUT, still in the car, and my oil filter housing NOT ported, I'm seeing about 3/4 of the stock gauge under wot/accelerating, and about 1/4-1/2 during cruise, and 1/4 at idle. profile up to date :dsm:
You kinda asked for it driving the car half naked like that, I would know I took my Gst around the block hoodless and got poped, but he let me drive it back home as I explained about needing to see something under the hood and I live in Va, our cops are 1/4 less NAzi then Cali's but only barely...
The 16g is good for more like 300-375hp.
Running stock boost should put u at or over stated goal easily but stock is relative,
Stock boost varies by body, and by vehicle, my 96 gst ran about 11-12 stock, 14ish with the free ebc mod.
Now im running 22-23psi with 50trim full setup.If I...
Shity but true, those little rubbers do work well enough, hence the need to lube the slide pins well :thumb:Side note, they also help keep the grease in the pin and the road debris out, but worst case some springs could always be utilized but shouldn't be needed :dsm:Hmmm PS. just...
This post is good info, nicely done :thumb:Think you covered it all pretty well.
I'd like to add that I'd be ecstatic if my 2G got 20mpg lol, with a 50trim and 650's she sucks serious gas if im on it alot, like I can burn 1/4 tank running around in a 5 mile radious, fairly fast lol, but...
First, clean off ALL the oil from the bottom of your car, especialy the pan/drainplug, return line- this includes the edges were it bolts to the block. Then drive it and check it like the next day. Maybe even sooner depending on your preference. Just give it what you feel is enough time to...
Silly sedan owner........The store you buy the helicoils from should have a thread matcher, you don't need me lol. Not to mention I just moved and am not entirely sure where I burried the left over helicoils and package, I promise any real parts store will have the thread matcher if they...
Well here you go.Type 1 full system check=
Remove the intake piping,Get the correct size coupler, to connet to your turbo's inlet, or use radiator hose or PVC couplers from homedepot/lowes etc.
Get a PVC end cap that will fit snugly inside your coupler also from hardware store.
Get a...
Yea I figured its :barf: to remove the intake in the car, so When I did my head rebuild I left in on and removed afterwards, if your not yanking the head though you should go from the bottom its the easiest :thumb:
Simple, take the bolts to the hardware, auto store, and use the thread matcher device they have, if the store doesnt have one, run away WTFI helicoiled mine but I forgot the size and I'm at work, sorry. :coy:For the OP, yes helicoil the bolts, its cheap, easy, and simple, just take...
Good thing I don't live near your store, i'd be screwed for sure :notgood:
I recently managed Advance Auto Parts where I live in Metro washington DC area (hella cars and people with $) we can't keep Lucas products on the shelf half the time, ranks right up there with BG which is REALLY hard to...
That cars weight I got listed as "curb weight" im not even sure what my 96 Gst's "curb weight" is. I do klnow the gvrw or whatever is like 3400ish on the door sticker, so he was alittle heavier then me /shrug.And this isn't about street racing it's about hp.
And the stupid rep shit is from...
Drill it out, try not to destroy the original hole as much as possible, the bigger you make the hole the larger bolt your going to need. Tap and die is your friend, if helicoils work on vavle covers they will on fuel rails.Possible option, get a dremel like took, and slot, whats left of the...
Well not alot of choices realy, it's probly leaking, where, well you can buy the dye from the auto parts store, and the UV light, or pay someone to do it, either way your going to have top fork over some # for parts etc.Side note my AC clutch is going bad it's making a terrible racket, so I...
If this alarm is truley "ghetto" rip it out, better yet have an experienced tech rip it out, sounds like you got a "starter disable" malfunction from the alarm. If you remove, or suficeintly disable the alarm it should work, have you tested the battery for charge/ha it charged ?A dead...
Curb wieght for that model car is 4200, mines 3400ish ?
He had the top down.
He revved me as I came up on him cruising, and he pulled away from me twice as I wasn't in the mood, the 3rd time we were door to door and he pulled a nose then I inched by him by the time we hit like 75-80 that car...
Now don't be a buncha jerks, I looked everywhere for a place to post this "leagaly" found none, so in newbies it goes!My question is thus,I have not the time(Work durring those hours) or money to dyno my car where I live.
I 3rd gear pulled on the highway with a 2006 MB SL 550...
Hey man, check out my profile, I'm running a 50 trim setup.
External is better, professional, and cost alot more $$$And you should never external dump any exhaust fumes, won't pass emissions or cops, and is bad for the environment :nono:Plus its loud and obnoxous :notgood:
Afternoon,Most of you folks belong in a communist country, realy. The parts you enjoy and the cars you enjoy ALL CAME FROM STREET RACING OMG
You wouldn't even HAVE a "sports" car if it weren't for the advent of street racing, where the HELL do you THINK "leagal" racing came...
Can anyone tell me what other vehicles brakes will fit the front of my 96 Gst?
I don't have the money for a brand new big brake kit, so what are my alternitives?Thank you for your info :thumb:
Had my brother help.Followed the manual, engine running rr to lf - lr to rf.pumped 6 times then hold, open bleeder untill only fuild comes out.
rinse repeat bout 5 times per wheel. Checked the fluid level cap off after each wheel and refilled, level never went below the mark as I stared...
So my brakes suck, nothing new there, mushy pedal, wont stop unless double pumped, and pushed almost all the way down.Technical- some unknown crossdrilled, sloted rotors all 4 wheels.
Advance auto parts ceramic pos pads rear, Hawk pads front.Brake booster passed all the tests I could...
Sounds like the rings are the problem, as per the above post from cometic.Side note I recently installed a rebuilt head with ARP's and a Cometic MLS. :rocks:Torqued to 90, heat cycled then torqued to 110.Zero leaks :thumb: :DThe mitsu books, mitsu head gaskets say 85, the...
Lol never used a timer,Get a Viper 8700? has remote start and turbo timer built in, plus its a kick ass alarm system with all the goodies, like $800 installed :thumb:Sorry I don't have any good info on greddy timer, I stay away from greddy's ovr priced stuff, this is why.PS. DSM's...
I'm running Falken azenis 429? something like that, they are 235/50/17 LOVE them and fills my wheel well nicely. go with a 235 more tire= more traction.Lotsa traction for a all season, there the bleeding edge of all season, descent life. looks good to :thumb:
Sounds like something is not torqued properly.I'd check your head studs, if the head is leaking you will get oil in your combustion, causing smoke. and the oil around the exhaust manifold is also related to that. Plus u could also get coolant leaks in the combustion chamber. :notgood...
Like anything, you get good and bad reports.....ABC's are expensive, yes
They do hold high boost if you buy the right unit.
Full blown race cars typically don't use MBC'sThey are often not difficult to set up.
Having 2 data files on my SAFC II is almost useless without a EBC...
Little off topic but, Lifter tick is cured with the addition of a product called Lucas Oil Stabilizer.Been using this stuff for years it is EXCELLENT kills liftre knock and protects your engine like no oil ever could.
Found in stores like Advance Auto parts, Autozone , etcI'll always...
Hey there, here is what I think may be going on, several possabilities....1) Your oil is over full2) your reading the dipstick wrong (it does happen)3) Your head is not properly torqued to spec, did you say this was a recent 6bolt swap?Yes its possible the oil change place over...
AS has been said DSM link is the way to go. :thumb:Performance is 10% parts, 90% tuning and DSM link has tuning on lock :cool:Add some injectors and have a blast cams come later :D:dsm:
That sucks, sorry to hear that :cry:To bad they don't make reasonable titanium tie rods for real cars like they do for RC cars ROFLGood luck replacing that hope it works out :thumb::dsm:
I have to agree with the wiseman here....Jasper engines are typically junk, I know cause I sold them through Advance Auto parts as a manager.I would never buy one, or run one willingly and for the price its just not worth it, nor is upgrading to a real* rebuild worth the money they...
There is absolutely another option for this issue. :D
There is an additive for your oil that will stop the awful valve tick associated with our motors. :thumb:
It is not cheap though. :cry:LUCAS HEAVY DUTY OIL STABLEIZER :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:Tested and works like a charm its...
DSM Link is clearly the way to go as its built specificaly for our application, AEM EMS is also very good but ALOT more costly.DSM Link is my recomendation.:dsm:
I currently use Act 2600+ there street disc, with current profile 50 trim all mods, 96 Gst.Works great hella grip, streetable, won't last on the track though.A Dozen FWD passes will burn it up fairly well due to the amount of slipping FWD needs for a good launch. :dsm:
Forget cams for now. Fix what you got and wring it out before you go throwing $ at it.Turn the boost up to 20Psi, get a good tune with a wideband if possible.Enjoy the permenant grin that will be on your face for awhile. :thumb::dsm:
Mine is working GREAT!!:thumb: :thumb:No more stalling between shifts :DThe settings I listed seem to be correct.Unfortunetly, After my install I went to tune and my pocket logger (Palm) decided to take a break, battery won't hold a charge, it only sat for a couple months tops...
I can't post in the tuning section for some stupid reason, even though I rebuilt my 4G63 myself on the ground in front of my Townhouse :confused:Anyway I hooked up my new Maf-T and set it to AUX 4 BASE 2.I have a 2g current profile.
Only using it to translate, I am tuning with my $375...
