    2G 6G72TT VR4 engine in 2G Eclipse GSX ?

I know this is a very old thread but for research purpose when ppl look up things in search engines and hit this page, this video is a 2.0 6a12tt engine and not a 6g72tt. Further more it is a very hard one to attain the driver side 6A12 twin turbo 2.0 V6 is from the E84 1992 and 1994 Galant...

    4g63 to 4g64 swap

Sonata's are not DSM compatible engines it's on the wrong side of the car transmission is driver side while 1-2G are passenger side intake and exhaust would be backwards on a DSM.
  3. MidShipCivic

    The Evo returns!

No it didn't return that's not a lancer, Evolution isn't specific to the lancer platform there are Pajero Evolutions with rare DOHC MIVEC 6G72's.

    1999 Eclipse Evo Swap

Is it me or your just ignore people’s questions about your wheel and tire setup? 5 ppl asking the same thing is not hard to see. I’ve known ppl to not answer that so others can’t use the same fitment. Don’t do that.

    Is your DSM registered?

Wow the northern regions suck ass compared to the emissions free states.
  7. MidShipCivic

Wanted to register before I get Eclipse

Your first mod should be a BOV./Bait.
  8. MidShipCivic

    Is your DSM registered?

You really needed to come on a forum to tell us you wanted to have ''fun'' with it ? If you drive your car on the street you have to register and insure it. If you live in an apartment you have to register it any where where it is not private property it is supposed to be registered and insured...

ahh first ticket in the talon

Seriously? What are you getting out of it ?
  10. MidShipCivic

Trading my 90 awd talon for a 71 datsun 510. Good bye dsm

Apples to apples ? A piston engine isn't a rotary engine, period. The machining is specialized and is much more expensive to ''build'' a rotary engine with parts to make it a high powered ''long term'' durable contender.''More powerful'' No. If it to be rated by the same method as a...

Can you start car without transmission fluid???

What happened to the rest of your internals? We were talking about not doing what you did putting load (take it beyond idle /start up) with next to nothing in the trans lol. This is a great thread.

    7bolt engine to 6bolt trans

Although I've pulled my motors out of 94-98 galants, I don't remember doing this but the 7 bolt 100mm paper weight crank I have here has it on the end of the flange I don't see how an MT flywheel can bolt on the eccentric spacer it's too far out ! I guess that's how knew to take this off last...

    7bolt engine to 6bolt trans

Your 5 speed transmission plate will work on that you don't need to get anything else.
  14. MidShipCivic

    7bolt engine to 6bolt trans

LoL there no more pioneering for this. There is a lot of people that have done this already. If you take the engine out of a 7bolt awd then you can use the starter plate (but I'm certain you can use your own that comes off YOUR 1g)You cannot use FWD starter plates on AWD.2g DSM must use...

Trading my 90 awd talon for a 71 datsun 510. Good bye dsm

LoL so you seeing the content on this site all of a sudden ''DSM's are a throw away'' lmfao.DSM are such a rarity I rarely see even a single 1g awd on the road in YEARS.

Can you start car without transmission fluid???

The clutch is rotating / slipping at a slower speed when you push the clutch in correct me if I'm wrong.
  17. MidShipCivic

Can you start car without transmission fluid???

I'm not trying to debate with you.Yeah rollers will fail heat it up, apply load on it and kiss it good bye. That just further supports my point low load = okay.Heavy load = No go.What about the rest of the transmission?
  18. MidShipCivic

Can you start car without transmission fluid???

You said ''apparently'' So that means you don't really know what he did.Roller bearings aren't hydrodynamic bearings, so he did some driving on that.
  19. MidShipCivic

Can you start car without transmission fluid???

:sighs:The transmission doesn't move oil to anything an automatic transmission moves oil using a pump, a Porsche GT3 G96 manual 6 speed transaxle moves oil using a pump and spray bars directly to gears and bearings.A DSM splashes oil in an undefinable matter in fact you should be realizing...
  20. MidShipCivic

Can you start car without transmission fluid???

The transmission technically doesn't ''move'' oil it splashes oil you could call it the worst form of lubrication. High vicosity ''cold'' oil splashes around? Na.Roller bearings and ball bearings use very little oil you can jack your car up in the air put your hand on the tire and stop the...
  21. MidShipCivic

Can you start car without transmission fluid???

No.The transmission isn't pressure lubrication, it is splash lubrication there is pretty much no splashing occurring at idle in neutral, so it will be fine there isn't any load so it cannot hurt it's self with exerting extreme pressure generating the heat to damage it.
  22. MidShipCivic

Can you start car without transmission fluid???

It will not hurt it, with miniscule load it will not hurt the transmission it needs to generate enough heat to even do that.If it was an auto this would be a problem, but seriously just put some transmission fluid in the car.

    7bolt engine to 6bolt trans

OMG I'm going insane reading this confusion!7 or 6 bolt? FORGET ABOUT IT! Don't think about the number of bolts on the crankshaft.Have you ever heard of 6 bolt engine swaps in 2g DSM ?It's the same whether AUTO or MANUAL doesn't matter the bolt pattern is the same.1g = 2g same bolt...

    Oil pump sound

He might have tightened it too much, to where the preload on the gear makes the gear teeth contact the wrong way causing the whine.
  25. MidShipCivic

    Oil pump sound

One time I freshly assembled a motor and started it, I heard a metallic bang noise and the motor made a gear whine from the oil pump... the stubby shaft bolt loosened and the shaft fell into the oil pan.The engine maintained oil pressure somehow.

Anyone else laugh while reading this?It was funny.

    turbo wont spool in park/neutral

You brought your own topic further off course. Stock engine swap into another car is a stock engine in another car, keep in mind I'm only talking about what that poster is referring to ''even type r's'' type r is a common swap done w/o any further mods to the engine itself. But do you...

    BC 2.6L stoker?

No one builds motors for pistons speeds. A 4g63 has a shorter deck height, that's why you cannot use it.It has custom length rods, pistons and a 106mm crankshaft.Unsure why a fwd would want this you will have no traction and busted transmissions. There is an evo that uses this kit he...

Stop what ? You need to relax. What am I guessing now? I'm stating what he advertising on the page. I did not explain how a helical differential worked take that up with the owner of SuperCarEngineering.Looks like there is some truth to that SCE diff I didn't see it the first time but that...

    Lets talk Difs.

That was a guess off the top of my head from the last time I've read it he does advertise 40/60 assymetrical split to auto biasing 60/40 and 20/80 not a 50:50.Supercar EngineeringSo I did read that right someone on the GVR forum spoke to Quaife they do actually warranty the center.
  32. MidShipCivic

    Ebay 2gb front bumper cover?

No MOST HAVE THEM, if you looked closer at the on in the first post you'd see the triangle depression.
  33. MidShipCivic

    Ebay 2gb front bumper cover?

What do you guys use to fill the triangle ?
  34. MidShipCivic

    Lets talk Difs.

I think I read were a member on GVR4 forums called/email Quaife and the rep said there was no such warranty claim like that on the center diffs its the same P/N for 1g and 2g.I'll email Quaife UK and ask them about that.

    Steering an lines.

I've found the spec sheet on one of those links on the first page it the rates the PTFE at 3000 psi.KRC racing (power steering pumps for road racing demands) has some pretty high spec hose too that they use from Eaton they also provide very indept information on hose diameters and power...
  36. MidShipCivic

    Lets talk Difs.

Stock center VC is slow reacting the quaife does a much better job but it's a 50:50 bias if only it were like the quaife for 3000GT's they are 20:80. Better than no VC though.
  37. MidShipCivic

    Timing belt SNAPPED. Piston question.

Keep the pistons. I would use something like eastwoods grinders grease, some sanding dremel bits and white rouge polish to perfection. At least pull the pan off make sure there isn't anything else messed up (metal in the pan). I wouldn't be too happy finding out there is more after hurdling...

    Lets talk Difs.

Several Honda users I know use them on their full blown drag cars with 25-26'' slicks running 9's @ 150's breaking the rear Quaife diff will not void any warranty they will fix / replace it for you. (in rear diffs)I didn't state he broke one I've asked if he's broken one I keep hearing that...

    Timing belt SNAPPED. Piston question.

How do you know the cylinders are fine with the piston in the way? At such mileage they could very be out of round. Do not drop other used pistons in there without knowing! It'll have to be machined for that and from those pics man those bores look worn out those blocks aren't perfect from...
  41. MidShipCivic

    Lets talk Difs.

Tons of C6 road racers use quaife rear in their transaxles you cannot compare the tuning of a clutch type vs the helical because clutch type tuning effects it's locking force. Helical do not work this way they aren't locking differential.Curious to the one saying that have you broken the...
  42. MidShipCivic

    Timing belt SNAPPED. Piston question.

Realistically, the valves just touched the reliefs on the pistons if the engine rotates smoothly and, it ran before then I don't see no problem with getting some abrasive compound after cleaning the piston tops then buffing them clean.Everyone talks with their friends thinking about what they...

    Steering an lines.

I don't get it how are you guys using regular AN braided ine on a power steering system it makes no sense at all to me? What is it internally teflon? What are the specification on that hose?
  44. MidShipCivic

    Timing belt SNAPPED. Piston question.

I say if that not a huge piston dent off to the left in 2nd piston piston you can just polish those piston marks up and use them again it's just a winter time daily....I don't consider this a ''flaming forum'' regardless of car in profile.
  45. MidShipCivic

    turbo wont spool in park/neutral

You have no idea what you're talking about and stay on topic I stopped talking about the Honda things in this thread from that very same post, and you're pretty closed minded Honda have better cylinder head flow and make crazy numbers. You're a 2002 member you should KNOW better really to beat...

To good to be true?? fwd=>awd

Someone on this forum actually converted their fwd 1g to an awd his user name is like (''bastard'' 1g) it was a lot of frame work and not a bolt on thing like a 2g GST dsm. However, you cannot do anything with a FWD case it is completely different with few similarities the AWD rear frame is...
