Alright, so just to give more examples of what's going on with the coolant temperatures...Last night I ran out real quick to grab some food and on the way home the coolant temp on the stock gauge started to rise fairly quickly to about 3/4, yet the Prosport dropped quickly to about 155*F and...
The Propsort is tapped into the upper radiator hose. The heat goes cold when the Prosport reads around 160* and that's usually when the stock starts to rise.
I found a temporary solution. Rip the Ebrake handle up and down a few times and voila. I can move. So that also tells me it's the Ebrake cable locking up. The Ebrake cable is actually too LOOSE. I think it stretched from being up for the past two months, is that possible? Also, my Prosport...
@stuckwithGSX- Yeah, I bolted the axle idle bearing to the block.I'm going to raise the car today and try spinning each wheel and let you know what happens.
I'm getting so frustrated with this I'm ready to punt a baby seal.So I just finished my 2.3 build and now I'm having this ridiculous problem. It's happened 3 times so far and seems to be when it's really cold out.I start the car, put it in gear, and go to move forward and within a half a...
I'm pretty sure mine turned out to be the PB Blaster that was burning off and my turbo seals were bad. You'd need to give us more info to help you out man.
I just installed the Premium 52mm Peak/Warning Water Temp gauge and tapped it into the radiator hose with the adapter. The thing looks amazing and the warning feature is great. It seem very accurate, btu my only complaint is that it is slow as hell to react. The needle does not move from the...
I plugged up the EGR nipples that were open and that helped a lot, but the car is still idling real rough and vacuum at idle is around -10 Hg. Car isn't bucking, but I obviously still have some leaks I need to find and fix.
Sup playas! So my 2.3 is in *giggidy* ;) Though with a couple minor issues. While dropping the motor in, my brother and I snapped the two vacuum nipples on the EGR Solenoid that is on the firewall directly behind the Intake Manifold.Because of this, I can't connect any hoses to the...
It will get to 180 and sit around there for awhile. The first time I turned it over ever was tonight. I did the whole 'sit for 15 mins and hold 2-3k RPM's' to break in the seals. While doing that after about 10 mins it started to raise.Let it cool down. Changed oil. (No coolant in oil)...
New motor is running! But with a few issues...1. Car is bucking like crazy and won't idle itself. Sounds like an air/boost leak.2. Car is overheating after driving and/or idling alone for about 10 minutes. I have coolant only in the car. No water. Stock gauge starts to climb, and...
Any updates on this? I'm having a similar issue with the overheating. After about 10 minutes the car starts to overheat on the stock gauge. The new water temp gauge i tapped into the radiator hose is only reading about 205-220* when the stock gauge starts to climb/gets to near the top. Which...
So, I'm a bit confused as to what exactly I need. A lot of this BSP, -AN, BSPT fittings are like Chinese to me.So, I have the option of either using an 3/8 NPT adapter to screw nicely into the hole?Or I can use the brown steel plug and some thread sealant to block off the hole and run an...
Hey guys, I know this is an old thread, but maybe you can help me out.I bought a new 2.3 block from SBR with a bolt in the hole where the fitting goes into. So, I purchased a new coolant fitting from Mitsu. (I snapped the one on the old block) and when I went to thread it into the new block...
Another problem,The metal sheet that connects to the main girdle and sits inside the oil pan does not bolt up right to the new main girdle. The bolt holes do not line up. 3 out of the 4 of them do, and they're not even large enough to fit the bolts. What do I do?
1. The Oil pump sprocket will not really come off with me just pulling it. Can I use a pry bar?2. When I put the 2.3 motor in, are there any things I should do before I finally turn the key? Any procedures or steps to follow?
Timing belt is off and everything looked normal before I took it off. No rockers are off. Everything looks normal. I'd love for it to be a valve. Taking the head off is much easier than doing any bottom end work.
Thanks Liquid. All my rockers are on and everything looks normal. Is it possible a bent/ ####ed up valve would be damaged and the rocker still be in place?
It sounded like it was coming directly under the valve cover on cylinder 3. I have the valve cover off, everything looks normal, if a rocker/lifter was bad, what would be a sign?
I have a LOUD tapping sound coming from the 3rd cylinder area under the valve cover.
It started one day about a week ago, and it was noticeable and only audible when I was on the gas, the second I got off the gas and coasted it went away. THe next day I was driving and it was louder and I was...
Are your spark plug wires in the right order? This will cause exactly what you're saying. If they are in the right order, make sure they're all plugged in tightly. What you hear is the car only running on 3 cylinders (or less).
This has been happening for a while. Nothing serious, just figured I'd see waht the problem is.Sometimes when I go to start the car the starter will spin and but it won't "catch". It will just spin "Rannnnnnn". If I keep holding the key it will just continue spinning. So I let go of the...
Alright another problem:New spec clutch and flywheel is in. Slave extension rod is in. Clutch bled. It's driveable, but the clutch is engaging RIGHT off the floor and it's difficult to shift. But what is confusing is that the clutch pedal is adjusted ALL THE WAY OUT.What teh #### is...
Now the clutch won't shift at all and with the car off it barely shifts. Mother####er. If it is the spring pop out this is going to be the 2nd time. :( Happened on my ACT 2600 before this clutch.I bought a new slave cylinder today and I'll swap that out and see if that helps. If not, I'm gonna...
Wow, haven't been on here in a long time.Anyway, about a week ago my clutch started making a grinding/scraping noise as I released the pedal back up and it's very difficult to switch gears.Fluid level is fine.
Pedal adjustment is fine.Fidanza 6 puck clutch.
Fidanza LW flywheel.Any ideas...
I have something similar. My car shakes/ wobbles (mostly my door pandels wobble and side mirrors) around 2,400-3,500 RPM's at slight throttle mostly in 2nd and 3rd gear only. My driver side CV boot is torn, I think it's probably that.
The only way this would be funny is if the kid walked outa the car right after it happened, and in a complete shocking look turns around and looks at the car in pieces and says.. "Holy ####.." while rubbing his hands through his face and hair. That'd be hilarious!
You must be reading wrong. HID bulbs fit into the stock housing. Why people retrofit projector housings in is because if u throw an HID bulb into our stock housing it'll glare like a mother####er and blind oncoming drivers. I don't care, I'm doing it anyway.
