I had it done for 4 years on my black 2gb TSi. Never once had an issue with the cops.

Go to another store. I had the same issue. Went to Advance they gave me the one with the fat prong and it didn't work. Same code and car would overheat. I actually got the correct one at AutoZone and it worked fine. Make sure it looks like your oem one.

Where did you get the sensor? I got my first one at Advance auto and the thread pitch was too big, had what seemed to be a different sensor on the end, and wouldn't go far enough into the housing. It was the correct part just manufactured badly. I went to Auto Zone and got a different brand it...

Seconded on that, I picked mine up for $12.95. I believe MAPerformance has the brand new oem ones. Got one about two weeks ago and it hasn't dripped a drop since. :rocks::D

TRE Fuel Pump

I had a 3.2 kit and it ripped apart in the span of a week. Like the bolts ripped out of the pressure plate. It was broken before it was even "broken in". Never again. And, yes, I do know how to break in a clutch.

Rust isn't that big of an issue in TN. Hopefully it'll hold up a little bit longer down here.

I've run an eBay AFPR for 3 years now on my FWD without a single problem. It was $40 and works just as it should. I won't hesitate to get another one for my AWD build here in about 2-3 months.

Edit!: Problem solved. It came down to the piece of crap GP Sorensen coolant temperature sensor from Advance Auto Parts. I went and got a Duralast from Autozone and it looks like an exact replica of the factory one and now my fans actually come on! Hooray!! Thanks for the all the help, fellas.
