Go to another store. I had the same issue. Went to Advance they gave me the one with the fat prong and it didn't work. Same code and car would overheat. I actually got the correct one at AutoZone and it worked fine. Make sure it looks like your oem one.
Where did you get the sensor? I got my first one at Advance auto and the thread pitch was too big, had what seemed to be a different sensor on the end, and wouldn't go far enough into the housing. It was the correct part just manufactured badly. I went to Auto Zone and got a different brand it...
My car with +32 Work Emotion CR-Kai 17x8 with 245/45/17's . The back rubbed a lot over small and big bumps. Rode on it for a while. The fenders were not and still are not rolled. I run 245/40/17 now and it very rarely rubs. Hardly ever actually. Although, the speedo is off about 6mph now. I...
Seconded on that, I picked mine up for $12.95. I believe MAPerformance has the brand new oem ones. Got one about two weeks ago and it hasn't dripped a drop since. :rocks::D
Can you do it? YesShould you? NoIt won't fit the lines of the Talon at all. About the only mix and matching that looks good is the 2gb GSX bumper on a 2ga Talon.
My car came with the window sticker and all the service records. Mine were the opposite though. All the recalls done and only services done at the dealer. No replaced major components, probably due to the 64k on the clock when I got it. Sorry you couldn't be so lucky. The previous owner was a...
I've got K-Sport Coilovers on 17x8 Work Emotion CR-Kai +32 offset 245/45/17(245/40/17) not as much rub now. Gonna drop about another 1/2 inch. Thanks so much for the compliment.
Congrats on the Talon. I also picked up an unmolested '97 Talon with 64k miles last August for $6000, so I think you got a great deal. There needs to be more clean Talons out there. Good luck with it! I need to do the timing belt like you ;)Here's mine.
You have checked and/or replaced the CTS correct?edit: I just reread that you had. A problem I had when I couldn't figure out my temp problem was that the CTS I got from Advance Auto Parts didn't fit correctly and the little probe wasn't long enough. It's an idea, I got one at AutoZone and it...
I had a 3.2 kit and it ripped apart in the span of a week. Like the bolts ripped out of the pressure plate. It was broken before it was even "broken in". Never again. And, yes, I do know how to break in a clutch.
Seems like a very small section that necks down. Almost unnoticeable. It couldn't possibly effect it that much, like a fraction of a hp, maybe?Tim:talon:
I've run an eBay AFPR for 3 years now on my FWD without a single problem. It was $40 and works just as it should. I won't hesitate to get another one for my AWD build here in about 2-3 months.
Edit!: Problem solved. It came down to the piece of crap GP Sorensen coolant temperature sensor from Advance Auto Parts. I went and got a Duralast from Autozone and it looks like an exact replica of the factory one and now my fans actually come on! Hooray!! Thanks for the all the help, fellas.
I got the sensor at Advance. I'm gonna try to return it and see what happens. I don't have a logger so I can't read all those temps and such. Hopefully will in the future. I have two DSMs. This one is the new TSI AWD I got. It is bone freaking stock. The one with all the mods only has a broken...
I was getting the CEL for coolant temperature sensor. I replaced the sensor, reset the ecu, no CEL, HOORAY!! I drove it and no issues, felt better matter of fact. When I sat and let it idle for a few minutes it starts to overheat. I noticed the fans were not coming on. I have checked by turning...
