Yea got mine in the car. LOPE at idle but it scares the shit outta mustang owners. They dont stop pulling. You dont need dual valve springs, im running the car to 8500 on singles with no problems. There is a definate difference between the 264/272s and the 280s.Chris
Well it comes with the trade, if you dont patent it before you release them to the public then you dont care if people copy them, but i dont like the thought of regrinds. Like the DKS that seems really cheezy to me. On the other hand i did just get a set of the Brian Crower 280s. I have a set...
i would get a daily driver.no really, if you havent made the switch i would suggest getting a 6 bolt motor, the 7 bolt might last forever or it might take a crap on.There is no need for a built motor though. I would suggest getting a PTE5031e (50 trim) or the PTE3432 (57 trin) or the...
15 psi, with a 8:1 afr and 14* of timing. im going to get it redynod with the bigger cams, 25 psi and tuning sometime in the next couple of weeks hopeully i can hit 400 whp.this was on a pte3134 and a 8.5 c/r my numbers are also on a mustang dyno.chris
Thats who i got them from also. mine are shown at my local ups station. so hopefully they will be here tomorrow!!!!!His 305 price is only good til tomorrow then there going up.
The pistion dome is the difference in compression ratio. They will fit your rods as long as you get a matching set, 6 bolt pistions with 6 bolt rods, or 7 bolt rods and 7 bolt pistions. Also I wouldnt recommend boring the bock unless there is damage to the cylinder, or it is too far out of...
i would just stick with 8.5 or 8.3 anything higher will make it harder to tune unless high octane gas used. Some will say its the same to tune but i have found it more difficult.Chris
who did you go through to get them? if you got them from BC, there from CA so it will take over a week to get them. its taking a week to get mine from them and im in MO
Yes Jessica gained 28 whp going to the BC 280s vs the HKS 264-272 combo. I have talked to her and she said that what little she did lose on the low end wasnt bad compared to the topend that she gained. With any upgraded cam i would suggest raising your idle, i have mine set at 1k and you cant...
Look into a set of rota slipstreams, they are 5 spoke but they spokes are kinda wider, they look amazing in flat black. As where to get them im not sure.Chris
DONT TACK WELD IT!!!! weld it all the way around. i had mine tacked and it leaked after like 4 pulls. had to pull it off and have it welded all the way around to get it to seal. this was on my old 16g
chris
dont cut the belt!!!! you will still have to take all of the stuff off to put a new belt on. get it to tdc before taking the belt off and make sure that the dowel pins are up when reinstalling the cams or there will be bent valves and youll be pissed.chris
you need the matching water neck and lower coolant pipe, and t stat housing and the matching lower coolant pipe. the sensors will transfer over...keep the 1g tb, stay with the matching manifold but port the 2g to match the tb. as the 1g manifold has bigger ports but the ports on the head are...
you will need to drill out the holes for the head studs. also there is no oil port for the turbo on a 2g head (atleast not mine), why dont you just take the 2g head and have the valves put into the 1g head. my local shop charges $2 a part to swap. so it might not be that expensivechris
this is a good shop, they have done heads before on my other cars and friends cars so i trust them i just wanted to make sure that bolting it down wasnt going to warp it to where it needed to be resurfacedchris
ok well i had the head resurfaced like 3 miles ago, and found out that there is a problem with the block (or i think) I put a metal hg on and coolant started leaking out the back, so i put a stock one on and it held for like 3 miles and then let go, and then now its leaking, the car still runs...
im at the same problem as you, well i just had the last bit taken off. the problem is that there is only so much materal on the head surface that once you take it off then the coolant and oil jackets get messed up.chris
the ics is the "internal combustion ring" it has a built in steel oring. and the mitsu 4 layer is right around .06x so it will cover up the decking of the head and block.chris
yea but its thinner than stock from summit, and it wont shipp out for a couple weeks from them, i was within 1 day shiping from ffwd so i was willing to pay the extra for what i wanted and to get it now
i would go with the titan ics sce gasket, i was going to go witht he cometic but i have heard problems with them if you dont deck the block. with this gasket it says no maching required. but im going to use the gasket remover pads to make the block smooth. and its supposed to hold 43 psi. they...
15% more. im using baby cams. 262/272s, and dont plan on revong over 8300 (stock tranny) and i dont know how many miles are on the springs in the head. so for cheap (to me) i feel safe with these over stock.chris
well if you are looking for some springs/retainers, i just bought crower stuff for 250 shipped from http://www.tunerschoice.com/product.aspx?display_id=107&dept_id=195 they do mostly honda acura stuff by they also carry :dsm: parts
the motor got built so thats why it was replaced in the first place, forged internals, so the block was decked about 10k miles ago. im guessing that he didnt use spray or he got a damaged one not sure, i bought the motor used from someone. it has 10k on it. i think im going to go with the titan...
well here is the thing, its got a mitsu 4 layer, and im pretty sure that it is leaking between the layers so thats why i wanted to go with the titan because it has an oring in it.chris
ok so im replacing my head gasket and was wondering if i should get a metal or an oem. i plan on running max of 26 psi, depends on if the 2600 will hold. I have a 6 bolt with arps.so i have narrowed down my choice to the titan ics gasket with the built in orings or the oem. im wondering if i...
does the head/block need to be as smooth as the cometic needs to be? i cant take out my block from the car but i can get it really smooth.also will a 85.75mm bore work with .020 bore? (i dont know the stock bore)chris
ok so now i have 100-100-150-170so this would mean a head gasket. also i lookd at my coolant is there is some missing from when i filled it up and just let it idle for about 5 mins so im thinking its leaking between 3-4 and there is something wrong with 2 also.chris
no not yet, my tools is about 20 mins away im going there tonight to get it. also can it just burn oil and a little bit of coolant? or does it normaly not burn oil?
ok so i have a couple problems. i over heated the car well it got to about 235. now it keeps fouling plugs wont rev with out falling on its face. and there are little bubbles on the dip stick. there is alot of white smoke pouring out the exhaust but it has a bluish tint to it. also the little...
i had the same problem, take some 2x4s pieces and use one that is longer and then set a shorter one towards the end and it will be like steps for your car, just make sure that the bottom board is long enough to get the front wheels on before the nose hits the second board. and it will get you...
ok i guess i should have narrowed down my question a little.the fans are on via dsmlink, they are aftermarket slimfans. but i dont think they are pulling enough air through.and my question about the water sensor is, the data showing on dsmlink will say 230ish and my autometer guage will...
