Hey guys just wanted to update this I figured out my issue. I had to adjust my CAS, once it was adjusted the car started right up and settled into a nice idle. I didn't have the chance to idle it for long though. This was using jackal and on 93
See that's what I thought but then I read that the 1gs have older injector drivers. Compared to the Evo and 2g ecu. That's why I was thinking I should try e85 since that's what I originally intended to do
Hi guys questions for you. Is anyone running FIC 1680CC Hi-z injectors on pump gas? Everyone I see is using E85. The reason I ask is because I am trying to get my car started for the first time on Pump gas and it will start briefly and then die. I am thinking it's just to much gas, and I...
So apparently I have lost the included port blocking hardware from tial for the unused air pressure holes on my wastegates. Does anyone know what size screw would work to block the empty air pressure reference holes?
Honestly I never did do anything for the ground, but I never had any issue with the sender when I had it in the car running a single pump. Everything worked as it should, but i think you are onto something by running a seperate ground.
They stopped making these? Wow I bought one of these brand new from Hawver in 2011 I think. I know another guy locally with one so that's at least 3 that we know of lol.
How did you turn your alt into a 2 wire alt? Mainly asking because I have mine placed in he rear of he motor and the fewer the wires I need he better lol.
Agreed, I run the FP 4" intake on my HX 40. When I had a MAf though I don't think going from 3" to 4 " would be that big of a difference. So My vote if you have to run a MAF let that baby eat and reduce at the maf.
Honestly I have one sitting on my shelf waiting to go in. AS far as I know everyone that I have see non here that runs one of these clutches loves them and Tim from TMZ he runs them in his track car and he's doing 1000hp.
Or you could buy an ostritch, and a cable and use http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/articles-tuning-ecu/450153-basics-tunerpro-how.html or you could pay 20 dollars and use Jackal. Both programs give you logging capabilities, jackal requires you to go SD though so youd have to invest in an IAT...
Cam timing can play a huge roll in how the turbo comes in and how the power is made. Keltalon tested a bunch of cams and messed with degreeing them to get the most power out of them and best spool up and did a really good job posting his results in this post .
Thank you my1gdsm I use the o have it setup on my laptop and there use to be a writeup on it on the site but it has been removed. I was mainly asking for my friend. I may have to look into your setup though.
Honestly the stock transmissions have been holding some crazy power going through them, with people dipping into the 10's on a stock transmission. The motor becomes the weak point at around 450 - 500hp some have had better luck pushing it further, but most will say this is the safe limit...
I hate to bring this back from the dead but does anyone have a link to the write up that use to be in the site to log using your laptop and the palm emulator with mmcd?
Hey everyone the dust boot is shot and gone on my outer tie rod, but it's pretty much rusted to my inner tie rod so I'm thinking it would just be easier to replace both. My question is, is it possible to replace both of them without pulling out the steering rack? I found one write up saying to...
I never did it on the DSS driveshaft, but I did do it on my stock driveshaft and it was, pretty easy the hardest thing is getting the Damn c clips out. After that it's just a matter of pushing out the bearings taking out the old yoke and putting in the new bearings and yoke.
Hey aproductions they don't effect the power steering at all the L bracket just helps with mounting points when pulling the motor I think that's it. The power steering mounts to a bracket that bolts to the motor :-)
this is the setup that I have in my talon and then one in the center console and three on the pillar lol. I got this carbon fiber vent off a member here on the boards.
People always say to disconnect power when you pull the ecu to prevent shocking it when you put it back in. I think the tune is stored on the rom so it should be good to go. Glad you got it out.
Wow car looks great John. Quick question do you run an alternator? With the Magnus dry simp it looks like you couldn't run a rear mounted one. Can't wait to see what that magnus triple does :-)
I have heard of some people using thick grease between the exhaust manifold and the turbo and then letting the car idle for alittle bit, to cook the grease and from a gasket like that.
I kind of like what landspeed said of doing an egt probe, if you just have it welded I don't think the trubulance would be much different then having an egt prob in the path. You're hardly blocking any air either way.
