never had the yokos.. but i have the proxie 4s as summer tires.. and they work great.. i dont do any auto crossing. Just use it as a daily driver, and some agressive driving.. The tires stick very well on dry roads, and on turns and curvy roads at high speeds. Wet roads they perform pretty well...

hmmmm i have Toyo G-02 for snow tires.. and i love them.They never slide and have good traction snow and slush.. ice is ok.. even on dry pavement they have pretty good grip (of course not like regular all season or winters), but hold pretty when on turns.. they are kinda noisy but i turn up...

I have the hawk hps pads, and i get very little brake dust. I love my hawk hps, esp if i need to brake hard there is no braking noise.. does not give too much attention esp cops in my area...

you mean this metal pieceif your refering to that than yes you do, but you can just goto a auto store, the sell you the all those pieces. cost me 25 bucks when i installed my shocks.. its called the strut mounts.

i know you prob replaced the spark plugs and wires, but check again if there is a mis-fire.. i had a similar issue... it never really stalled, but felt like it was going too...

wow interesting read. There was some mention about considering a 3.5l from a galant, but it might be too tight for a 2g?I guess this issued died out, and it was too much work, and hassle...

you mentioned you replaced the struts right? what was the condition of the bump stop? because mine are warned out and dont stay where they are. I have to replace them, because right now everytime i go over a big bump it makes that same metal to metal clank that your describing.

ok here is a pix of the front shocks...

the strut mounts are basically go on top of your shocks... and prevents any squeking.. they are rubber so in time they will get worned out.. and since our cars are pretty old.. yours a 99.. thats 7 yrs old.. and chances are you prob never replaced them.. so there is a 90% chance they are worned...

as well i just did my front this weekend... and u might need to replace your strut mounts.. thats what could be causing the squeeking... i replace the strut mounts when i installed the shocks, and no more squeeking..... strut mounts are about 10-20 bucks each depending on where u look...

just did mine this weekend.. its 25 mm from what the instructions said, but thats for a 2g... i dono abt a 1g if its diff tho...

hmmmm did mine at this chinese local shop for 460 cdn.. they did timing belt and water pump... cash abt 2 years ago.. so far no problem.. did it at 60k miles (usa car) ... i am at 97k miles at this moment...

ok guys... not too knowledgable about this area.... ok.. basically if i shift normally at 2-3k it shifts fine, but if i was to race or shift at 5-6k or more its starting to get stuck shifting or i have to really push it in... is that cause of the clutch or the transmission?
