Hello DSMTuners.com! Well after a seven year break, im back. Sadly I had to sell my old 92 Talon ESi after my son was born for a family vehicle but after a few years of patience I recently picked up a 94 Eclipse NT to start over with a father son project. I am no stranger to Internet Brands...
I have a 96 chrysler sebring with a mitsu 6G73 2.5 SOHC. My question is does any one make headers for this motor or are the headers from the 2000+ 6G72 3.0 SOHC compatable with minor mods.
Have you checked the o-rings around the injector bosses? I had a problem with my idle when i checked the fuel rail and it ended up being that the o-rings were worn out and leaking air into the cylinder.
If you're good with metal you can always get a small sheet of diamond plate aluminum from a metal yard and fab up your own and if you want carbon fiber get a small sheet from a place like MachV to make one.
I had the same problem and it was a small switch on the lower passenger side of the radiator (Thermo fan switch) that turns the fans on when the water temp reaches a certain point.
I had an overheating problem on my 92 Talon, at idle the temp would rise so I replaced the thermostat, flushed the radiator, even the temp sensor on the thermostat housing. The problem ended up being the thermo fan switch on the lower passanger side of the radiator. This tiny little switch turns...
1st off sorry about the mispelled topic title::( but ive just decided to have an exhaust built from some friends that i met at a local meet. I bought a Ractive muffler and resonator and the shop is going to charge me 250.00 to bend and install the piping and add a flex section to my header. So...
That makes two of us!! N/A's are just as capable of having fun just like any other type of motor. It takes hard work, dedication, and alot of trial and error. Keep it up and keep us posted!
Ive tried the search option and came up with nothing so my question is: Has any one tried using flowmasters exhaust system for the 1G N/T's? It basicly the rear exhaust section from the resonator back. My only other option is pacesetter but ive heard bad remarks about. The part number is...
Try Esurance they only charge me 135.00 a month for full coverage (The only reason i have full is because i also have my son in the car at times.) but thats with no accidents or tickets and im only 26. Plus the down was only 220.00. :talon:
Did you inspect the wrist pin(the pin that holds the piston to the con rod)? cause I had a similar problem with 1 of my cars. The rods and bearings looked fine but the wrist pin had worn out and was rocking on the piston. See if you can rock the con rod or wiggle it if so then inspect the pins.
I had the same problem with my LA's it was because the stock speakers are smaller than what the LA's are. Just take every ones advice and hack the cone off the back of the mounting bracket and if youre worried about moisture getting into the speaker than go to Pep-boys and buy a speaker baffle...
Why not do what i did and cut the round "basket" off with a dremel or hack saw, that way you only have the angled mounting piece left. If you're worried about moisture behind the new piece then you can get a foam baffle to go behind it from a local stereo shop. I had to do that for my Lightning...
Theres nothing wrong with N/A. I owned a GSX before my talon and yeah it was fun to drive but on long trips id much rather have my N/A to me it seems more suitable for cruising long distances and doesnt eat as much gas either definately a plus with gas prices in some places. As for the muffler...
Dude customizing is all about what you would like your car to look like and the time and effort you took to personalize it and make it your own piece of art. some will like it some will hate it. I have neon on my 92 Talon and I personally like it even though some dont but hey its my car not...
Most trannys either have a tag with it stamped in it or its part of a casting number right on the case. Normally its on the front side or on the bellhousing. My 92 Eagle has it stamped on the bellhousing near the engine/transaxle bolts and the 94 Eclipse that i had B4 it, same thing. Let me know...
Do you know what the model number of the tranny that you bought is because there are two types. theres the F5M33 used on FWD DOHC turbo and N/T engines and then theres the F5M22 used on the SOHC engines. they look similar but are a little different.
When you get an adapter make sure that the dish(distance from the back of wheel to the bottom of the mounting plate) is the right depth cause I installed the aluminum GT wheel from APC in my 94 and the dish was only 2" and my fingers would hit the turn signals or washer lever every time I turned...
I had the same problem, when the guy I bought it from replaced the timing belt he didnt line up the cam gear marks and had 1 gear off by a tooth. Valves hit piston but not enough to really mess it up just light scratches on the piston which was smoothed out with a dremel and as for the head...
Do what mybuddies and I did. Go to Harbour Freight and get a hydraulic pipe bender for cheap and buy you some pipe and make your own. Plus when youre done you can use the bender to make your own exhaust system! :talon:
Snapped the timing belt, bent the valves and damaged the valve guides. All the shops around me said "Sorry, we only work on hondas!!" and the one shop that said theyd do it wants to charge me 500. Any one know of any good shops in the Royal Palm Beach Fl. area? Loss of my baby is killing me, Im...
The worst thing was two days after I had gotten my talon was when I was sitting at a light in the turning lane and I hear screaching behind me. I look in my rear view and see this cadillac coming at me. He hit the brakes cause he wasnt paying attention and hit me at about 15-20mph. That slid me...
I got my 92 Talon for 200 bucks from a friend who would rather have seen it be fixed than go to a junkyard. All it needed was a timing belt, valve job, new driver side fender, 2 dents pulled and a paint job. Having friends that own a paint and body shop really helps too!!
