Needs springs rates 1g dedicated track car

You can try and counter the understeer (push) by adjusting the front camber if you can adjust it now. Moving the top of the front tires in will allow the car to rotate a little better in turns as well. Also, if possible, add some positive camber in the rear, this also allows the car to turn in a...

1G How I fit a racing seat in my 1g racecar

We ran into a similar problem as Chris mentioned that some brackets just set the seat way to high. I had some brackets fashioned in my 2G that were very low and the seat was mounted directly to them. No need for sliders if the seat is just for you, meaning it should not need to be moved. They...

Needs springs rates 1g dedicated track car

My car was not a 1G though I campaigned a 2G in a few road racing series and for the most part, my rates did not change from track to track more than 100 lbs. either way. Our off the trailer set up was usually 650 lbs. in the front and 350 lbs. in the rear. Although I am not AWD so the back did...

Sorry for the delay, ceedawg. There is no specific thread or website that has the build of the car I'm sorry to say. My Facebook page for Eddie Garrison Racing has a lot of pictures of what was done to the car as well as my own website at www.eddiegarrison.comIf you have any specific...

Saw the PM, thanks Mandy. The Mustang was a 5.0 Fox Body and I can't remember whT the BMW was, sorry. It was an older model BMW, maybe E50 .... Just can't remember off the top of my head.We had some CRX's, a Sentra and an older Rx7 as well and a 240 and Evo I recall. All had their OEM engines.

Thanks guys!!I honestly want stay on the DSM platform if possible. I have a lot of knowledge & experience with what these cars are capable of and love driving them. Hope to find something we can get and transfer some parts to and get up to speed quickly. If not, Have a few options in mind now...

    Rekindling the Racing Fire

No, car is still in Pensacola. The inside has a lot of rust. Tons of mildew everywhere else. Put new battery and it won't even turn over at all. Fans, fuel pump or lights won't even come on.I know it could probably be fone theough and sorted but I am one that doesn't have patience for much and...

@dcathect - I will let everyone know what goes with the car. The suspension would be parted as well since I have coil overs on it, but the other suspension parts would remain.Obviously depending on if I stay with a DSM or not will regulate what gets sold or not.

    Rekindling the Racing Fire

Well, bad news on the car. It's pretty much worse off than I had planned or thought. Turns out the garage I "trusted" to keep it covered left it outside apparently most of the time and have since gone out of business. The car was left on the side of the building half way covered and is pretty...

2G Another DSM in time attack/road racing! Cooling ?s

Yeah, sorry ... I did not do any write up or do much other than rip stuff out :)The only interior I have is the factory dash, which is also gutted. It has/had to be in due to the class rules I was running in. Still some more to get out and that will be done once the car is here with me in Orlando.

Yeah, that is an older picture that I came across just to show the cage as best I could. Most of the stuff for weight have been removed. Next step for that is to get rid of the metal in the doors and maybe put some aluminum in there to make it smoother. Not sure just yet. Focusing on getting the...

For anyone interested, here is a video I found the other night of me racing this car at No Problem Raceway in the Grand Bayou Race Series. To put the speed in perspective ... On that long straight away, I hit around 120-125 mph before that little left/right deal to the chicane. Lap times are...

    Best pads for DD/track

Like the discussion brakes here guys. I stand way from chiming on brake setups as my $0.02 will differ to a DD car from our fully prepped race car.I personally love Hawk pads and swear by them whenever I can. Plus, they do a nice contingency program for racers as well. Never hurts :)...

2G Another DSM in time attack/road racing! Cooling ?s

The only problem I have commenting on brakes (especially) is that my setup and advice is based purely on a race prepped car, not a daily driven car. My car is much lighter than any DD on here so I can get away with different setups than most can.Currently all I have as far as brakes is the GSX...

2G 2g Megan adjustable camber arms

I cannot speak to the Megan parts the OP is asking about, though I run both the front and rear Ingalls camber kits and have been nothing but pleased with their results. They are tried and true application for 2G's (in my opinion) and would run nothing more at this point on the race car. I prefer Hawk pads myself, as they offer many contingency programs around many of the sanctioning bodies. But, I do like their pads as well. My go to set up in the TSi has nearly always been Hawk HP+ pads in the front and Hawk HPS pads in the rear. The HP+ pads are a higher temperature...

Head Room for Helmet- How Much?

In my case yes. When we installed my Corbeau seats with the brackets the seating position is lower. I am only 5' 10" and my head does not hit the roof with my helmet on. And if you didnt use the "Corbeau" (or whatever) brackets, just fabed dome up, Im sure you could get the seat even lower.

I like the idea of removing the latch assembly for hood pins. That is on my list to do as well very soon. Then as you said, you can fab a shroud over the radiator to keep the air flowing towards the radiator area instead of escaping around it. The fans do help some when temps are high on...
