What people need to understand about this event is, not only is it relatively new, but it has everything a car guy could want. HPDE(2.5 mile course) Autocross, Drifting, Drag Racing, and even a car show all in one event. Many high HP cars spent all day at the high performance driving event...
I Made two videos from a lapping day event at Blackhawk Farms Raceway in Illinois.Battle - Evo VS ViperViper was trailered 1.5 hours to track
Evo was driven 2.5 hours to trackYouTube - Viper VS Evo battle - Boosted FilmsIn all honesty, when I was watching live at the track, I...
Just like the title says, my 91 Talon headlights won't go down. They work fine otherwise. I can screw them down manually and then they come back up when I turn the lights on, but just don't go down when I turn the lights off. I check the fuse, and obviously since they still go up the fuse...
Well its kinda like nascar. Damn things are moving over 200 mph and its still rather boring to watch. At least these guys are turning right sometimes! Also, these are amateur drivers on what is normally a go-cart track. Fastest speed on the back stretch is only around 80mph. I also try to...
Google maps is way off on time. You should be able to go all the way from the top to the bottom of WI in 5 hours. Shawano is located in central WI. Shawano to Madison is a little over 3 hours.
Most people drive about an hour to get to the track. It's located in Shawano WI. join Fox Valley Sports Car Club of Wisconsin or Central Wisconsin Sports Car Club - CWSCC forums if you want to know when the next events are coming up.
they should be the same. Are you sure its not a 90 transmission?
check the vin # on the trans.

You could try a reverse drill bit and hope it takes the old bolt out. Otherwise, drill the hole an put in a heli-coil. But it may be just as easy to drop the trans at that point.PS: You need a new motor mount!
Thats one long, sorta confusing sentence. Are you saying you can't go above 5500ish RPMS without it cutting out? Have you checked for boost leaks lately?
Cut your loses. Pay the man $100 and send it to a(DSM) shop you trust. just my opinion. I could only see it getting worse from here if you have any other problems.PS: has he ever rebuilt a DSM trans before? I would also double check you new parts and make sure they are right before doing...
Are you sure the trans was good when you got it? I would use the bracket/cable/shifter all from the same year. Luckily, the bracket is pretty easy to change. I put a 90 trans in my 91 without changing anything...
I had a similar issue when my slave cylinder was going out. I would change that first since its easiest. Otherwise, master cylinder may be the culprit.
I wouldn't risk going with used stuff. I would recommend the Centerforce Dual Friction Clutch. I have one in my FWD. Light pedal, holds good, have over 25,000 miles on it and quite a few launches. Should be good to 350hp no problem. I know a couple DSM'ers that would recommend the ACT 2100...
I have similar issues. Its most likely a bad wire/bad connection. check the wire that "plugs into" the side of the starter. The clip on mine was hanging on to the wire by a thread.
this may help you if you do the belt yourself.YouTube - 6-Bolt Mitsubishi Timing Belt ReplacementYouTube - 6-Bolt Mitsubishi Timing Belt Replacement Part 2
I used to think that way about mine whenever it rained. Come to find out my CAI was getting some water sucked into it that would actually make it all the way to my GM MAS and screw everything up. needless to say, I don't even run a CAI anymore unless im at the track.
First, make sure your power steering pump is not leaking.Second, Make sure all your heat shields around your 02housing and exhaust manifold are in place.Third, check for lose wires. I went through about 5 alternators in 2 months until I finally found out the my pop-up headlights wore...
I have it, works fine.some positives
-You can add/remove fuel.
-you can vent your bov properly.
-its easier to run a CAI.
-the GM MAS is better than the 1G MAS.If you acompany it with a wideband 02 and datalogger, proper tuning can be done fairly easily. But since you already have a SAFC, I...

Now that I've had the LSD in the car for over a month and put about 5,000 miles on it, I'm starting to enjoy it more. Like most other mods it can take a while to get use to. I basically only notice the chatter now in parking lots and lower speed corners. I also love the fact that I get no...
Makes sense, like most any other mod, I researched first to make sure I wasn't buying a crap product. I'm only posting this so other know what to expect. I will also be updating the thread if things change. Thanks for all the replies, much appreciated.
Well I plan to launch on slicks...so we'll see how that goes. Why would they recommend not to launch on slicks? I would think thats why 85% of DSM'er would buy one.
Who else is actually running a Kaaz LSD in there FWD DSM? I noticed another post stating similar problems I am having with a chatter while turning. I use the term chatter loosely as it I can feel it shake the car is the clutches catch and release. I did the proper 1/2 hour figure-eight BS that...
Answering my own question here. I did get the Kaaz LSD installed in my 90 transmission. Just have to use 93-94 cv shafts. On a side note, Kaaz lsd chatter around slow corners ftl. :( New thread to come..
Good time. Send me a PM if you want more pics of your car and I'll see what I got. compilation video to come. pm if you want your raw video footage of your run and I may have it.
Well here is where I am at. I reinstalled my old 02 housing heat shield, put in a new battery even though my old one tested fine, and put in another alternator. I took it for a test run and brought it up over 6K RPM's to make sure they wouldn't kill it. The lights on the dash however did...
I drove it a half a mile and it failed and you think its a heat issue? My EGT wasn't even above 700 degrees.PS, i still have the heat shield for the PS pump on and like I stated earlier, I haven't had the lower heat shield on for atleast 2 years. I still have it around somewhere I think so I...
After I put the last one, I started the car, the dash lights went out and all seemed fine. I drove the car a half mile down the road, and the damn lights came on again. So its not a heat issue. Checked the battery voltage with a volt meter before I left and it was 14.3, when I came back it was...
tension on the belt was fine. I do not have my 02housing heat shield on the car but haven't for the past couple years. Alternator issue has only been happening the past month. I re-ran a ground to the body but not the starter mount, I assumed that cable was good, but who knows, guess I should...
