Price - $2995Here is a 1995 Eagle Talon TSI AWD - Manual Trans. Good running and driving car. Lots of recent parts replaced. I was told the motor was recently rebuilt by Holland Automotive Machine, which is a local...
Hey everybody, been looking all day and cant seem to find him. Looking for some specs on his wheel and tire setup. Im sure some have seen it on here. Car is a very clean two tone black on top, dark grey on bottom. He is running a set of Varrstoen ES221's for wheels, there a polished aluminum...
If the threads are badly damaged you will have to replace the ball joint itself.Yes it is possible to just replace the ball joint, I just did mine last fall. This is also a good time to take advantage of a front camber kit if your car is lowered. Ingalls makes a camber kit that replaces the...
I would suggest picking up eight more lifters from partsdinosaur.com.He has a really good deal on the 3g revised lifters. I just changed out a set myself. You should be able to get eight of them for right around $50 shipped.
I dont mean to burst your bubble or anything, but I've gotten around 32 mpg and 390 miles to a tank of gas with a 14B turbo and an ETS front mount on my 95 GST. Although, Im having the same issues with my 97 AWD Talon, I usually get around 12 mpg with that thing. I can't figure it out at all.
It usually all depends on how safe you want to be. Usually most will say if your using stock main bolts that its not necessary.I would say the least you should do is have them checked. I understand money is tight but 55 bucks is not a ton of money when your talking about building a motor. It...
I have this same exact issue with my Talon, On decel, usually between 3,500 - 2,000 RPM range it makes a horrid sound that just sounds like harmonics through the car.I myself am running without balance shafts, with a SPEC stage 2 clutch and an OEM flywheel. If I get some time I will get...
Instead of driving around trying to find it just order it from extremepsi.com and it will usually be to you in about three days.Extremepsi seems to be a good company and on top of their shipping. If I order from them on a Monday I usually have my parts on Wed. and im in Michigan.Maybe you...
I ran into this same exact issue a few years back, somehow, after my head unit was installed it caused my dimmer switch to burn up and not be able to complete the circuit for my dash lights.I had to end up grounding a wire on the harness that connected to the cigarette lighter bulb.It...
For what its worth, If your replacing it why don't you get a braided stainless replacement? With the fittings it will probably end up being cheaper anyway.Heres a quick link to what I was recomending:EXTREME PSI : Your #1 Source for In Stock Performance Parts - Oil Feedline Kit (Oil...
I had all of my interior lights quit working a while ago when my dimmer switch went bad.Something burnt the dimmer switch up and didnt allow current to flow through to the gauge cluster.I had to end up grounding a wire inside my harness to get everything to work.Try and see if you...
When we open the .doc file our columns are all out of sync. Try and form them into an excel spreadsheet that way everything can stay in order.By the way,What are you using to get your logs from?
Just make sure there's no cracks in the valve cover. I fought this issue for months trying to trace down an oil leak out of the valve cover. I had just painted it and I either cracked in on the install or the paint I put on covered the crack.I finally found the leak by looking around the valve...
Really not to be rude but if you do this you are just wasting your time! That motor will probably seize right back up in two seconds! A couple of those jornals on that crank look horrible. Your already this far, take the crank out and either get a used good condition one or get that thing...
To sum up your questions.1.) I would not put threadlocker on head stud. (The part that goes into the block)2.) The only part of the head stud that should be torqued is when installing the nut on the stud with the head on. Do not torque the stud into the block. Personally, I tightened all...
One thing you will always hear around this forum is to ALWAYS use an O.E.M. throw out bearing.Other than the OEM TOB, most people put in a pivot ball, and clutch fork.Make sure to get the flywheel machined to the proper "step" height as well.
Yes, thats usually what everyone runs for spark plug gap around here. Depending on the turbo, boost and nitrious the gaps change but a safe gap would be *.028* yes.MM = .7112
This could possibly be a cracked valve cover letting oil in from somewhere.I just spent my past few weeks trying to hunt down an oil leak coming from my valve cover.Turns out it was cracked and I couldn't even hardly tell. The only way I realized it was be revving the car under the...
That looks like it mostly came from the bearing.Bearings are fairly soft, unlike the crankshaft. If i remember right I think the journals on the 4g63 cranks are nitrate coated or something of that nature. When I rebuild my block I took out some bad bearings as well, due to the dumb ass...
Its most likely going to be your dimmer switch. My dimmer switch went bad about 2 years back and caused all of my interior lights to not work. You'll have to ground a certain wire on your dimmer switch harness, I'm not sure which one but I could check for you possibly when I get home...
Hello Everyone,Just had a quick quesiton. I am thinking about converting over to the 2gb eclipse side skirts and came up with a question.I was wondering if someone could go measure their 2gb eclipse side skirts and come back with what the dimensions were from the top side of the side...
If you changed your slave cylinder you need to bleed your clutch lines. The pedal will fall to the floor if the system is not blead because there air in your system. The bleeder is on the front of the slave cylinder that you just changed. Have a buddy pump up your pedal and then you crack...
Yeah it probably would look pretty 4x4 ish. I would work on some suspension also to get that thing sitting lower. If whoever your buying your wheels from sizes them right, it shouldn't make the car sit any higher off the ground, it will just look like a bigger wheel.Heres a picture of what...
Well with the right tuning capabilities and the right MAS you can vent your BOV's to the atmosphere. What kind of BOV and MAS are you running. If its a GM MAS and a translator then you would be fine venting your BOV to the atmosphere. Some people still have issues with this though, and...
Just like this guy said, start buy recalculating that BOV!As for the clutch, I have found SPEC to be a very good name with the DSM's. Plenty of people run them and love their clutches. I myself have a Spec Stage 3 in my FWD and a Spec Stage 2 in my AWD.Spec Stage 2: As for my Spec stage...
That sounds to me to be a bad relay. Make sure to test all your relays to see if they're clicking back to the neutral position. When the headlights are turned on, the voltage travels through the relay connecting the corresponding pins. When you turn the headlights back off, the relay isnt...
To put an answer to your question I would say it would not be safe to drive the car without any modifications done for a AWD to FWD swap. Now you could ask him how long he's been driving the car like this and maybe get a feel for the logevity that way?If infact he's an honest seller.......?
When I installed my ETS FMIC I used stainless drain tube from the plumbing section at the hardware store.I ended up buying all kinds of different bends and straight pieces but I got it to work and it looks awesome. Ill post some pictures up here as soon as I can.It ended up costing way...
Well if im reading his post right, the guy unbolted the transfer case from the trans and its no longer on the car.Hopefully he removed the driveshaft too!?:hmm:
There are proper ways to run an AWD car as a FWD car, but I'm not positive on what has to be done to achive this.Search around on here for AWD to FWD swaps. Plenty of people have been in this same situation and have done the same exact thing. With the proper mod's it should be fine. But if...
The torque and clearance specs are all depending on what kind of pistons and rods you use.All manufactures of pistons have a specific piston to cylinder wall clearance that they would like you to meet with your build. Also, your piston ring gaps are up to your choice as long as its within...
You can't check timing on balance shafts without removing the timing belt. At least not on the oil pump gear. If this is something to do with timing then you probably shouldn't drive it until its figured out.Does it sound like its missing?"If I get on it real hard" - when you do this...
Its probably not the most effective way to check it but just unbolt your fuel supply to your fuel rail and have a buddy turn the car over to see if fuel is pumping through the lines. The fuel supply is on the passenger side of the fuel rail. Two 10mm bolts, make sure to lube up the o-ring when...
Well if the one side of the MAF is hooked up to the sensor then the rest of the wires run into the engine harness. As for the boost leak it depends on how serious of a leak your talking. It could be a possibility. As RedTalon95 suggested, check for a blown off coupler.
Definetally check your MAF. This sounds like the exact way a motor will act when the MAF is left unplugged. Believe me, I know from experience. I've done the same thing. If that doesn't help go ahead and start with a boost leak test.
I know it's not on your list but I would definetally look into an ETS Front mount.I purchased one last fall and installed it. The installation went perfect. It was a breeze. I didn't have to cut a damn thing! The quality out of the ETS front mounts is amazing. I have yet to hear one...
If you careful putting your motor back in you shouldnt have to many issues of scratching any paint.I've done both my DSM's recently and didn't have any issues.Put the motor back in without the radiator on the car, and with the turbo and exhaust manifold off and it should be a brease...
It sounds wierd to here but yes the only thing the coolant temp sensor see's is resistance. When the heat in the coolant rises the resistance lowers, when the temperature in the coolant decreases the resistance increases.Or it could be the other way around?
Im pretty sure theres no difference between the 2gA and 2gB hoods. When people do the "2gB" conversion theyre only changing out headlights and bumpers. So im almost positive its all interchangable.
There are markings on the underside of the bearing... I cant exactually remember what they look like tho. Ill take a picture and post it in the morning. Thanks
Well... assuming the bearings I took out of the block were the factory bearings, they actually do cover the oil hole. I wouldn't have ever thought that. Thanks everyone.
I ordered my top and bottom end kits from extremepsi.com. Theyre all felpro gaskets but the only problem is the head gasket that comes with the top end kit is not an MLS gasket. It's composite.
