I'm assuming you have V3 since you mentioned SD.Here's a link to the stock configs
v3configs [ECMTuning - wiki]If you have V3Lite you'll need the Lite configs, which are linked on the ecmtuning website above.
Mine occasionally has the same exact problem where it gets stuck open. I have to pull on the glass to get it go sometimes. It seems I usually have the problem worse if I turn the car off first; extra power of the engine on seems to help me.
I had the same thing happen to me when I was living in LA. Steam spewing from under the hood when I pulled off the 405 in Inglewood at 11:30PM. Luckily enough of the outlet flange was left to reattached the upper hose and I was able to limp home.
Love to meet up again sometime Rafe.GSX has been stuck in the driveway, but hopefully will be running again this week once I finish putting in the hybrid 14b.
FYI, someone just posted a nice tech article on SS braided hoses. DIY always appeals me, so it was informative for me.http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/articles-miscellaneous/440481-ss-braided-hose-hose-end-assembly-like-pro.html
The $110 Gates one's are Gates Racing ones and are made from kevlar. Gate smay also make a standard rubber OEM replacement belt as well, which I'm guessing is what you'd see at Rockauto.
The new sleeve looks nice.I finally got around to getting my set of roll stops in recently, but the sleeve was the old style. The first local machine shop I tried pressed the rear out and the new sleeve in for $30. I thought it was a little expensive, but couldn't talk him down and didn't...
The rear 02 sensor doesn't really matter for tuning as it is the front sensor in the 02 housing that is used for closed loop, so you need to check the exhaust manifold and 02 housing connections for leaks.
Yep all tap water has minerals in it that will cause corrosion. It's what gives water its 'flavor'. Try drinking distilled water... it tastes bland. Now certainly some tap water will have much higher concentrations of corrosion causing minerals and some will have much less. Perhaps those...
Any know the size of the bolts that hold the mount bracket on the transmission for the rear mount? I was trying to remove one yesterday to find out, but it's really stuck on there... soak with PB blaster so we'll see. I definitely need to find a replacement for the missing tranny bracket bolt...
Bringing this up from the dead because I just found my rear mount bolt stuck between the cross-member and firewall. For the rear mount itself, there are actually 3 bolts mounting it on the cross-member.Would like to confirm that there are only 2 bolts mounting the mount bracket to the...
If its your only sensor, then yes, you need to simulate NB.Some people just prefer to put keep the front 02 for NB, and then hook up the WB in rear 02. That way you have something to compare each against in case on begins to fail. This is what is what I plan to do in the future. Also...
Everyone will tell you to SEARCH, as there are indeed many threads on this already.I'll just be nice and link to a post that I believe is one of the most helpful examples of how to relocate the battery to the truck properly.http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/152022910-post471.htmlGood Luck!
I had some similar issues too. Lots of good suggestions here, but I'd just add checking the throttle cable itself.I would find that as my dsm heated up, without enough slack in the cable and with the expansion from the heat, the cable would remain open a hair and rev would go up to 2000-2500 rpm.
I really can't recommend ECMLink V3 enough. If you're tight on money, and who isn't these days, you can get V3 Lite for almost $200 less. It still has nearly all the feature of the full version, more than enough for me for now. And if you ever want to upgrade you can just pay the difference...
Justin,Thanks for the great writeup on the TD05H turbo rebuild. I have one question though, where can you get pliers small enough to remove the tiny inner snap rings on the cartridge?
Like rvaughn said I wouldn't trust the stock gauge for much... the gauge isn't even really labeled. Even if you have a boost leak, you could still read up to 13-14 psi on your aftermarket gauge, but really pushing the turbo higher (read hotter) and just leaking out the difference. That why...
It's been 4-5 years now, but I always would see a clean white 2gb GSX parked downtown by Salem Center. Haven't seen too many DSMs up in Portland since I moved here...
Boost leak test!? Sounds like a boost leak to me...I wouldn't be upping the boost until you got a REAL aftermarket boost gauge, unless you like risking your engine.
Very excited to get these when you do the second run. No hurry :)Sounds like using them with OEM mounts on the driver side and tranny will be fine? Or do you think it would be better to get inserts for those?
I totally agree, hahaha.Funny how certain things are so different on basically the same car in different markets.. Guess I'm just the average USDM customer who likes his non-folding power mirrors...Glad you're happy with them though.
How exactly do you use Link to kick the fans on earlier? Is it just coolant offset? And if so, doesn't that also affect the tune, as in timing will be pulled at an actually lower temp?I've been having some cooling issues at idle and low speed ever since installing a thicker mishimoto...
Still on my #1! Almost 7 years with the old girl, and she just passed her 100k mileage mark. When something breaks or wears out, I try to upgrade it...
Thanks for the extra info. I'll be sure to try to get the shop that installs it to tuck it in as much as possible and defiantly go with 3" mandrel bent. I really love that it looks and can sound like stock. A fart can just looks unrefined.
Thanks for doing another review of this muffler. I've been eyeballing it for some time now looking for a quiet exhaust solution.Might have to get it afterall when I does choose to upgrade the ridiculous exhaust the last owner did:ohdamn: welded entire exhaust in one piece :ohdamn: and used...
Probably sounds random, but does this parts car happen to have the hood release lever and small metal support piece behind it? My GSX has been without a lever since I pull it off doing some wiring a long time ago and it went missing...
This is an awesome thread, subscribed.I have been doing some research on EHPS pumps for a conversion lately. Seems super popular with the Honda crowd, but basically pretty straight forward. Seem like the speed-based adjustment is a nice feature to incorporate, but not absolutely needed...
