Yup, I made my oil restrictor out of an oil fitting and nitrous jet. Works good I'm assuming.Once the exhaust manifold is fixed I'm going back to the dyno to see if I can crack 560awhp or so. I have so many restrictions with my setup so I don't see it making it but who knows.
I don't have any pics. Its just a regular oil drain out of the turbo with a piece of 5/8th's (IIRC) heater hose going to a stock oil drain tube. Nothing crazy. It works for me sooooooo.Yah it aint bad. I rescently picked up a JMF Drag IM for it to see what kinda gains I could find. So far...
Your problem is that you are above the walbro's crack pressure. At 75 psi of fuel pressure the pump's flow just plummets. SO what I would try is dial back your base fuel pressure to around 35 and adjust your global accordingly. Then retune. If you are to lean, add a little base pressure back. It...
Thats pretty similar to how my turbo acts.Sounds like you and I make the same power except I'm going through all four wheels. When I dyno'd it was on 30 psi, 100+ outside and humid, and a pretty convervative tune. I have the 7 blade version.I'm going back to the dyno in February...
There's a few other vids on youtube of me running a few cars. Search for Steevo vs Nitrobasher or Steevo vs Shane.NopeIts a fun turbo. I'd like to see what it can do with a few more mods and a better working transmission.
Everyone says its a 56mm, so I said its a 56mm. I could give a sh!t less what mm it is. It made 508 hp on a stock 2g maf, stock head, ebay exhaust manifold, full exhaust, cat, stock IM, ebay intercooler, tons of boost leaks, 100+ degree intake temps, a chewed up compressor wheel, and only 30...
I'm thinking the OP is simply wanting to run it for the added cooling. Everyone knows the cooler your intake charge is then the more power you will make. I say try it out, it CAN'T not make more power or hurt anything. Cooler temps are cooler temps.Do it, I plan to.
I ran pretty similar times to Mr. Peepers in my HX35 2g just last night. Babied it outta the hole, 1.77 60 ft, 7.44 @ 99.xx in the 1/8th, 11.37 @ 129 in the 1/4. Full weight 2g, stock GSX wheels with street tires. This is on the same setup as when I dyno'd 508hp/455tq.Gonna go back in a...
I bought a used Turbonetics "60 trim" years ago. Fed it from the OFH with no balance shafts and unrestricted for over 40k miles and always above 20 psi daily. I beat on that turbo hard and it never ever showed an ounce of shaftplay or smoking. I kinda regret ditching it for my HX35 and not...
You're reading it wrong bud, its 12.4 not 13.4. I aim for mid 12's on E85, though another friend that day did a pull at 28 psi with a 35R where the maf was getting overrun and the afrs went into the 14's on E85 and didn't knock.Yah its not a bad turbo. Seems very comparible to a 3076R or a...
Yes and No. I was shocked cause I figured it was closer to 450-460 at 28 psi, but no because I was hoping the turbo was going to live up to its hype so far.I was on cloud 9 for about 5 minutes then my buddy did 658 in his 98 GSX right after me on a BW S364 and stock 7 bolt...
Thanks.BTW, the shop informed me that all these numbers were corrected so these are the actual numbers the car made. Uncorrected would have been a bit higher.
Decided to finally get some numbers on the GSX a couple weeks ago. I was pretty surprised actually at how easily it made over 500hp with my particular setup.Mods that matter.Eagle/Wiseco 2.0 6 bolt
8.5:1 compression ratio
ARP headstuds with factory Failpro headgasket
Stock head and...
Just sounds like an ignition issue, but its not spark plug related. If you have moderate airflow, low timing, and good afrs, it won't knock. Are you getting any signs of detonation on the spark plugs? With the ignition break up up top and the COP you have I would start looking into that if it...
Just food for thought. I took the car out and played with timing advance/retard today to see what spool times I could get and if I could improve on them at all. I first started with just pulling all my timing (DSMLink V2) out from 2000-4000 rpm and adding 5% fuel. I was originally hitting 27 psi...
QFTI bought this flange:Holset HX35 HX-35 exhaust downpipe turbo weld flange : eBay Motors (item 360250522735 end time May-06-10 18:03:41 PDT)And mated my 02 eliminator downpipe to it via cut and weld. Lol.
Stock divided 12cm housing. The T3 BEP would spool probably 400-600 rpm faster I would imagine, no idea though. 20 psi on stock cams was at 4k rpm, 20 psi on FP2's is at 4200. 30 psi is at 4600 rpm.The tubular one, looks very simlar to this one. It clears the block/water pipe beautifully...
I have the 7blade HX35 with the 12cm T3 housing, at 20 psi with FP2's I was seeing 42 lbs/min, and at 30 psi I'm seeing 54 lbs/min. Shitty ebay T3 manifold, stock 6 bolt head/IM. I plan on upping the boost within the next month to around 35 psi to max the compressor out.
Take it back off, throw a little bit of tranny oil on the splines, set it on there and thennnnnnnnn.........BFH. When I assembled mine with the welded center diff it was a mother ####er to get the VC back on with the light/moderate taps I was using at first so I manned up and gave it a...
This thread is retarded. Back the hell off Aaron91RS, hes had a run of shit luck with his setup just like a few other people on this forum have. Shit happens. Some people are oiling their turbos from the head and never have a problem, then someone else will blow 2-3 turbos cause of it. Same...
I traded an old Turbonetics "60 trim" for my 7 blade HX35, and I just bought a 7 blade HX40 for $230 shipped. It was such a good deal I couldn't pass it up, so I can now let it sit till next year or so when I'm completely done maxing out this HX35.
Patience. I usually use a long flat head screw driver and a rubber mallet. I set the whole cluster with the input/intermediate/and rails all in one at once, pull the shift shaft up and slide the 1/2 shift rail in and turn it accordingly and set rail end fork on the shift shaft and slide the...
My HX35 hits hard, there is no inbetween on boost. You're either at 2-5 psi or full boost. If I'm going WOT I two hand the steering wheel, especially second gear. It hits hard and does not stop pulling.
Wow! I'm impressed man. Thats one helluva power curve also. Props on your car, not a whole lot of mods just utilizing what you have and giving it a good tune sure goes a long way. Congrats and good luck with your future goals. Now get it to the track and give us some trap speed numbers.
HX35 with the 12cm housing will spool about the same as an HX40 with a bolt on housing. Personally, if it were my car, I would do the HX35 with the 12cm housing, then buy an LSD and an electronic boost controller. The boost controller can control gain and how hard the turbo comes on by slowing...
Thankyou for your input. I'm gonna take them both to the shop and see if it can be done.Edit: After tons of researching I've found only one person that has done this on the Cummins forums. Its not a very popular setup obviously since nearly all diesel guys are concerned about high...
Soooooo what your saying is that I can't have a 12cm housing machined to fit on to a HX40 turbine? If thats the case then why? Its only going from a 60mm wheel to a 65mm wheel. So there is no possible way to have a 12cm housing put on the HX40?
Well #### my life. I was looking at those flanges and wondering if they were the same size or not. Looks like I may have some more work on my hands.Well I guess I'm looking for a 12-14cm HX35 housing. Anybody got either one laying around? Lol.Anybody know how much it usually costs to...
Yah ask him if he does. I'm hoping the 16cm housing will clear though. I'd hate to have to pull all the studs outta the head and install longer ones, though, I will if I have to. Lol. It would be awesome if I could just pull the HX35 and replace it with the HX40. Haha, wishful thinking probably...
Thanks for the input. Its always appreciated. Quick question though. I seen some pics of your old setup with the 18cm housing and you have the exact manifold I'm using (XSPower, Junk but it works) and it looks like you have a half inch manifold to head spacer in there also. Were you having...
