Where do you get this idea from? If you break the law you broke the law, period. It doesn't matter if you change a variable in the situation later.Like has been mentioned, careless and reckless can be charged. You are right in the fact that speeding, failure to stop, and things of that sort...
I have a G50 on my car that I have had for multiple years now. I have not had any problems with it. Mine is one of the Turbonetics versions. You should be able to tell if your's has a Turbonetics CHRA just by looking at it. Mine has the Turbonetics T on the CHRA.
When I get some extra money I will be building my own for my 1G. Not sure when that will be though. I might incorporate a different way to mount the control arms (new tubular arms) to simplify it instead of having to build the rear part of the control arm like stock (where it mounts).
Questions can be a good thing.I suppose it could. But only if you had a gasket that was torn or weak. This will not damage anything that was not already damaged. The only thing it can damage is a weak or torn paper gasket which would have had to of been replaced anyway. I have never seen it...
Both the front and rear brackets are different between the auto and 5-speed. The mounts themselves are the same (other than the trans mount of course). The below is from a member on the ECMLink forums:"Front Roll mount bracket
#345 NT 5spd and auto trans
turbo cars
#346 FWD 5 spd...
There are some pretty handy "sockets" you can buy for stripped bolts. They should work on this if you can find one the right size. They "grab" the outside of the bolt in order to get grip on it to take it off. Here is a link to a set: Sears: Online department store featuring appliances...
A good way to find out where an exhaust leak is is to block the exhaust flow. Just have somebody cover the muffler outlet with some rags/shirts etc this way it creates more back pressure. If there is a leak, it will be more noticeable.
I do not have a single problem with it. It reads dead on with my boost gauge. I have not heard of anybody having problems with it either. I have heard of people having problems with the AEM wideband not logging accurate values though. Maybe that is what you are referring to.
I'm about hour and a half from Raleigh, about 40 minutes from Wilmington, and a little over an hour from Fayetteville. There's a bunch of places to drink in Wilmington. I will ask my friend who lives there what the best place for beer is. I don't drink beer (I drink captain most of the time)...
Tell that to Brent Rau. ;)RWD is king at the 1/4. Look at the fastest cars in the world. They are all RWD. Why? Money is one reason. The only reason that matters though is that RWD can't be beat at the track. If they are properly set up they won't have traction issues so there goes the only...
Since it is mostly a street car I will have to say AWD also. If it was mostly a track car it would be RWD. SpawnedX is right about his RWD comment. Not if it is set up correct. And an AWD will do this too if not set up correctly.
I agree with Paul. I never had a rotor that I couldn't get off with some type of hammer when I was a mechanic. My first tool of choice was my air hammer. If that didn't work the ball peen always did. I just hit it as hard as I could a couple times and it would come off. I had a lift to do it on...
I would be making full passing before then. I go about 70% throttle the first time I drive the car after a rebuild. After that drive is finished I will change the oil. Then I will go full throttle for a gear. Let the car cool and go full throttle for two gears. Change oil. Make a full pass. Then...
They should fit without a problem. The front mounts themselves are the same on the manual and auto. The bracket on the block that the mount bolts to is what is different.
A wideband and your injector duty cycle will let you know. Anything we say will be a guess. And we can't accurately guess due to all the variables that could make your car require more fuel than another car with the same setup.
I will be buying at least a front kit in the next couple of months if you still have any (I hope you do). I will probably go with the scalloped rotors due to the extra weight savings.
I can't see what everything says on there due to the size. Basically what you do is this:Cut the blue wire
Hook the end coming from the tcu up to 30 on the relay
Hook the other end of the blue wire up to 87a on the relay
Hook 87 up to a ground
Hook one end of the hobbs switch up to power
Hook...
I am trying to make it out. Not sure if it is going to happen or not due to money though. I'm sure I will have to stay at the track if I do come up with enough money to get there cause I won't have enough money to pay for a hotel.
I have always torqued the arp's to 100 ft/lbs. I would not try the mls gasket again unless you get both the head and block machined flat. I am running a Mitsubishi composite gasket and have not had any issues with it up to 30psi. I know there are a lot more people that have pushed them further...
The thing to do is:1. Let the car cool down completely (over night)
2. Remove radiator cap to release any pressure that may be in the system (not likely after step 1)
3. Put radiator cap back on
4. Start the car
5. Carefully take the radiator cap off after one or two minutes of it idling...
Another thing you could do is use a hobbs switch and a relay for the "blue wire mod." This way it will have full line pressure at and above a given amount of boost while still retaining lower pressure for cruise.
One of the questions you should be asking yourself is "What are my goals with the car?" Be very realistic cause most people want to do something far out of their price range, ability, etc. That turbo is way more than most people need for their goals.
I preload just about any manual car I launch. Here is what to do:Move forward to turn on the first set of lights.
Push the clutch in and floor it since you have dsmlink.
Pull up the e-brake.
Let off the clutch a little so that you feel the car trying to over power the e-brake.
Let off...
I just got a new one not even a week ago. 91 awd auto talon. It already has a cage, fuel cell, battery relocation to the back, etc. I am working on getting it together now. I need to get an inline pump, fuel lines, and a rear diff. Then I will see what it will do with the setup it has and then...
Drew, quit screwing around and drive that thing. You trapped faster than that with your 30r. I heard you whooped Hal's vette recently? You surprised some people. I asked them why they would be questioning you when they saw what you could do over three years ago.
If they are saying that it failed for showing not ready then the check engine light won't come on. What they are referring to is basically a diagnostic check of certain parts that the ecu does itself. It check multiple emissions related equipment for problems. These checks are called monitors...
I never lift heavy really. The last time I did it was just the bench for a pt assessment while I was in police training. I did 255LB for one rep. That is at 165LB and 5'9". If I had weights I would get that max up to help on my max push ups. I'm sure with the workout I have I would be up to...
