Insane, just insane. Keep going. Pm me your address and I will make a dvd up of the old pictures I have of the car. To give you an idea how meticulous I was when I torn it down:
I'm pretty sure it does not have the evo 1st gear and input shaft or the taller 5th. But you would have to check the reciepts. This is just nuts to see you doing this to the car. Makes me happy to see she is getting the attention she deserves. I honestly thought I'd never see the car again...
The crank was undercut .010" when I took it to the machine shop (rod bearings) . At that power level is the strength of the crank a concern? Also the pictures you have in the first post have cop setup. When I had the car I was thinking about getting an dynatek arc 2 since alot of DSMLink guys...
Sorry, I forgot to tell you it was a street disc. It has Fidanza Flywheel (I replaced the surface disc on when I did the ACT 2900. Did you ever find a 4 bolt rear end? Are those injectors going to be enough? You are making me miss my old car. Glad to see your taking it this far.
I hope you figure it all out (sent you a pm). Did you get any pics or videos? Its good to see the car getting this much attention. What you did in a few short months would have taken me a long time to put together. Glad to see it getting more parts and getting faster. What about the 3 bolt...
Dude that is awesome, that just made my day. I'm glad to see where you are taking it. Please give me more details (shop website, when your tuning/racing it, contact info if you want to know anything about the car). Also please post some engine bay or other pictures cause I want to see that. Keep...
Cool, glad to see it ended up in the right hands. I put a lot of work into the car. Shot me a PM and we can chat more I can give you more details about the car. Before you do all that work you should run it at the track as is because I never got a chance to.
You can order ford/bosch injectors and the tops have to be turned (on a lathe) to fit the rail (or the rail modified) and the lower pintle cap/o-rings have to be removed.Once that is done you use the normal mitsu o-rings and seals to install the injectors...
Just wanted to share some info. I went to Beyond Redline in Green Bay, WI yesterday to put the car on the Eddy Current Dyno Jet AWD dyno. (Beyond Redline :: Performance Center)I have been working on getting this car right for years and there would always be something that needed to change or...
The local news stations when into "breaking news" mode when they heard he boarded a plane and that was headed for Minnesota. Should be a good game to watch when its Packers vs Vikings.
Good to hear it is running. If you need someone to hold the laptop during some tuning sessions I will be glad to help. Basically I'd like a ride in that thing. The thing looked mean sitting in your garage on 4 jack stands, I can't image what it will look like going down the track.Keep up the...
So here is what I did. I jacked the car up and adjusted the rear control arm bushing because it the eccentric was 180* opposite of what it was when I installed that. So I adjust the rear camber and of course I could tell the toe was off, just like I knew it would be.I ended up taking it back...
I had the hole on the metal DME kit towards to middle of the car, just like the instructions call for when I installed them and took it in, hence the #s in the before column for rear chamber on both sides.I'm wondering if he had to turn it in order to get the toe closer to zero?It was...
I just did a bunch of suspension stuff on my 1g GSX:
welded trailing arms
dme camber kit
energy suspension bushings
new ball joints
new hankook rs2 tires
car was already loweredI took it in today for an alignment and the sheet is attached. Look at the rear, before was -1.6* on the left...
Welcome. When I dyno my car again I would take it Beyond Redline. They usually have dyno days once a year around this time, I don't know if they are doing that again?Nice clean car btw. Any questions feel free to PM or ask (after searching). Tim (twicks69) is very helpful. As said above...
Sorry to bring this thread back up from the dead, but does anyone run the tie rod boots from energy suspension? Or do you all stick with stock like stated above?
Did you take the carb off the engine and take the carb completely apart? Some of those jets can be unscrewed. Shoot some carb cleaner through the jets and all the ports of the carb. You should use about 1/2 the can. Just clean the heck out of it. Check the fuel line from the tank to the carb and...
We were thinking about leaving at 4am saturday morning just to avoid the traffic and get to Buschur's when the open house starts. Then stay there for a while, go to the hotel when we can check in, then take a nap.
I have mapped it out and if we stop every 135 miles or so, there are e85 stations and I can make it there and back without having to switch to 91 or 93 octane. It does take a little while longer though, roughly 7 hours from Milwaukee.Driving Directions from Milwaukee, WI to 6250 Ameriplex...
I have a room at the econolodge for Saturday night only. So when is everyone leaving? Early Saturday morning or Friday afternoon? The rain day is that Monday I heard.
I will be going to the shootout and am in the Milwaukee area and would like to go down with a caravan. If I take the eclipse we would have to make specific gas stops for some E85 though, so it might take a little longer. :D
drewbird91 - I was wondering who's car Jake used for the test fitting. I think that exact manifold in that picture is the one I ended up buying. Do you plan to run one of Jake's manifolds in the near future? My plans do't include upgrading my turbo at this time so I am sticking with my evo...
Bringing up a old thread instead of starting a new one. I ran into the same problem the new waterpipe was too short. So did I get the wrong one? Anyone have pictures of all the different ones. I want one that doesn't have the oil cooler lines and the turbo lines on it as well. What one do I have...
I am referring to the pop-up style. I know the parts are interchangeable but I was more concerned with the vinyl coming off and the side skirts matching up to a different fender.
Hey all I need your opinion,
I have been looking at getting a bike for a while, just never thought I would be able to do it. Now I have money to get one, work reimburses me for school so no more tuition bills. I also have my 91 gsx paid off and sitting in storage.
The bike I'm looking at is...
Will a talon fender fit up on a eclipse? Isn't the side skirts different? Do the side skirts come off easy and attach to the new fender? Are the colors the same, black on eclipse same as black on talon? Thanks.Basically I want to put a talon fender on my eclipse because that is all I can...
Did you take the valve cover off and look for cracks? Mine was cracked from the underside. Found it after I replaced vc gasket, oil cap gasket, bolts. Also are you using the stock bolts?
I got the 11:30 slot!!!! Figure AMS will warm the dyno up for me, then I'll put down some crazy hp numbers and break the dyno from all the power I make before Buschur can get on. lol.
I know sometimes the bolt is suppose to break before stripping the threads. Since it should be easier to replace a broken bolt rather than fix stripped threads.
