  1. ABS light and passenger seatbelt removal

Will the pocketlogger return any codes related to the ABS system?? For example, a bad wheel speed sensor.
  2. ABS light and passenger seatbelt removal

Thanks for your reply.I did remove the rear seat as well. Initially I also removed the rear seat area "g force sensor" or yaw sensor. I have since reinstalled this sensor. At this point the yaw sensor is installed and connected. Nothing is connected to the diagnostic connector. The...
  3. ABS light and passenger seatbelt removal

Is there any reason why complete removal of the passenger side seat and seatbelt assy would cause the abs light to illuminate??I removed the seatbelt motor/track and disconnected the two connectors which connect to the motor. Also removed the seat, and the portion of the passenger side...
  4. 2G A/C not cold

You SHOULD NOT charge the a/c with the can upside down. You were correct to hold the can upright. If you turn it upside down, then liquid refridgerant may be drawn into the compressor. Liquid cannot be compressed. Compressors don't like things that cannot be compressed. The cheap autoparts...
  5. Who is running long route FMIC piping?

Your throttle response will be reduced. "Spool up" is not really the term. I prefer short route, but I doubt you'd be dissapointed with the long route.
  6. What is Lambda?

Lambda simply refers to the o2 sensor. I believe the term originates from Bosch. If you read books on fuel systems they'll refer to lamda sensor, lambda sensor voltage etc etc
  7. Are these Oil Pressure Values Normal?

Boost won't affect your oil pressure.I have my BS out and I see 12 psi at idle and a minimum of 75-80psi on the hwy. I run Mobil 1 15-50 though. Of course, oil temperature makes a big diff. On a cold engine at hwy speeds, I'm off the guage. On the other extreme, crusing on hwy for a long...
  8. Tension on timing belt

I have ALWAYS measured the protusion of the tensior rod. By chance, the holes in the tensioner pulley do tend to end up around 10 and 2. I set it and then turn the engine over quite a few times. Let it sit for a while and measure. If you run your car the way you've have it pictured the timing...
  9. Engine fan question

Mine has done the same thing for many years. Don't worry about it.
  10. Quick piping question

    I read your mind.
  11. Mbc

How were you measuring boost?? Are you using the stock gauge or an aftermarket gauge??What MBC are you using and where did you get it?? Did it come with instructions? Did you follow them?? Or is this a homemade MBC?How do you know the car was "dentonating"?What turbo/exhaust do you...
  12. Quick piping question

You could completely remove the wastegate and it wouldn't affect intake boost leak testing (note that a pressurized line does connect to the waste gate acutator, however). One thing that I found usefull in the past was to block off the TB elbow were the UICP connects to it. In doing so, you...
  13. Header & Helicoil Question

The bottom center stud threads into an oil passage.
  14. Header & Helicoil Question

You shouldn't have bolts, you should have studs. If one of the studs has broken off, then use some sort of extractor (sears) to back out what's left of the stud and install a new one. The only reason you would need to use a helicoil would be if the threads are damaged. It seems as though you are...
  15. where to buy the 1g to 2g mass plug in play harness?

Exactly, just tap the 2g into the 1g harness and you have both connectors ready to go. It takes about 15 min....
  16. starting problem

If you def have fuel and spark then I'd check compression.
  17. What would I need to out handel a stock R1 FD3S?

You can definitely make your car handle with an FD.How much of your suspension is original?? You'll notice a huge improvement simply switching from the old worn out rubber bushings to urethane. With research you can build a setup that will apeal to your style of driving....but even if you...
  18. Effects of one year old gas [Merged 3-7] bad stale outdated

I wouldn't worry so much about the gas in the tank becuase, as I understand it, the problem occurs when fuel crystalizes in the fuel system somewhere distal to the pump. Any small tube/orifice can be a problem. I wouldn't go for 100% agressive tune on old fuel but I bet it will run OK...
  19. stock mas. in blow through mode

No kidding. Sitting in traffic lately my intake air temps are around 145!! Even crusing I don't see better than 105-110. It's too hot here...
  20. oil catch can [Merge]

Hard to say for sure... A properly functioning PCV valve will be closed under boost. The crankase will be vented by the single port on the side of the valve cover. The benefit with the stock setup is the the crankcase vent is attached to the intake and therefore exposed to vacuum.By gutting...
  21. Crankwalk? Weird but hear me out

My car wouldn't rev and had crappy vac after the t-belt jumped a tooth.
  22. Balance shaft elim question...

To the thread starter, I would really want to address why the front BS is stuck. Yeah it's technically ok to leave it in, but it should not be stuck. Are the front BS bearings bad?? Have you had oil pressure issues??Also, removing the shafts with the engine in the car really isn't that big a...
  23. oil catch can [Merge]

I wouldn't run the PCV to the catchcan unless you gut it.I swapped the fitting on the intake mani and the PCV. Then run both valve cover fittings to the catchcan and cap off the PCV now attached to the intake manifold. This gives the best pressure relief under boost when you need it most.
  24. 2g Wheels and Tires Size Questions [merged] fit fitment

225's will flex/roll over a lot. IMHO the stock wheels are too narrow. I'd consider upgrading to wider wheels. If you run 225's with low pressure you'll do ok in a straight line, but there isn't much you can do lateraly. If you increase the pressure to stiffen the sidewalls, 225's will crown...
  25. Check It Out - Pics

    OMG!!Is that Shep's car??
  26. Radiator fan or fans???

I tried running the A/C without the second fan and the performance was poor. Cooling was ok on the hwy, as expected, but any stop and go traffic at all was not tolerated. My water temps were fine with one fan.
  27. 2g MAS adapter

You can buy it from Dejon Tool, but it's easy to simply make one yourself.
  28. 1G 328mm Stop Tech Performance

Anyone with the Stop Tech front brake upgrade (st-40 caliper, 328mm rotor) tested their performance in any way? Stopping distances, fade, rotor temps, caliper temps etc etc?Of course wheels, pads, tires, brake fluid, suspension, and presence or lack of ABS will affect performance, but if...
  29. Power Steering to Manual Steering Conversion [Merged 4-8]

What is the part number for the passenger side mount for the manual rack?Where can you get the passenger side mount (satan I assume, where else)??Can I use the tie rods from my power rack (they're new, all 4)??I know the manual rack is slower, but does anyone know the actual ratios...
