Hey guys! Like the title says I would like to know if the early and late 2g a/c compressors were interchangeable. I thought there was absolutely no difference until I checked CAPS and found a different part number for the 95-96 and the 97-onwards model years.
Has anyone put a 2gb a/c compressor...
Ok, here is how I know these were built in the factory. They looked at the crankshaft and depending on what thickness bearings needed to go with that crankshaft that is what they put in. They are somehow supposed to be either marked or color-coded but I can not find any useful info on that nor...
I need your help with the following. The crankshaft bearings on my '95 AWD need to be replaced but I don't know how to determine which ones I need. They make them in different thickness and they are somehow color-coded but i see no useful signs on them.
I thought I would share this picture with you guys. This being the second car I see with these headlights I assume this is how they rolled out from the factory.
All other EU-spec 1Gs that I have seen (which I have seen plenty) have the regular pop-up lights like the US-specs do. These pop-ups...

I don't think the tick is going to go away by using different oil. I didn't for me. Go ahead and change your lifters or clean them first if you are on a budget. If you plan on buying new ones go on e-bay and you should be able to find a set of 16 lifters for around $70-80. I bought Topline...
+1 on lifter tick. I don't know about the oil pressure tho. I am about to get an oil pressure gauge installed and am really curious to see what my pressure is!I don't think it is exhaust leak... On the other hand I do have an exhaust mani leak that makes a ticking sound until it warms up:D
Looks a lot better than it did with the bodykit imo. Good job! Get yourself an eagle badge and you are good! And the stickers on the back and the sides ... :thumb:
Hey guys! I am about to get new rims and have been photoshopping rims onto my car and am down to the final two but can't decide. So I've come here to ask for your opinios.BBS off of an EVO...or OZ superturismo
Yeah, I think the grinding sound will go away by adjusting the clutch. The vibration while slipping the clutch is clutch chatter I think due to not getting my flywheel resurfaced. Did you?The deceleration noise only happens in gear while clutch being engaged... Maybe your brakes are...
I don't think it is crankwalk, it started making the sound right after the new clutch was installed. It made no sound before.
...well, I hope it isn't crankwalk:cry:The shaking is a completely different issue for sure, just don't know what it is yet.
I did not save the packaging unfortunately but I do have a picture, please see below.
I did use an ACT TOB, I didn't know they were bad. The new OEM ones are plastic sleeved also.
Bolts are torqued properly and tranny was installed fine.
About the grinding sound I think I may just have to...
Hey guys,I recently had an ACT 2100 clutch kit installed with a street disk and have been having some issues with it since.1. I hear a weird noise while shifting gears. When disengaging the clutch to shift gears I would hear this kinda grinding noise coming from the engine bay. It only...
I am aware of the 3 aspects of alignment and I do know that I would need a camber kit to be able to adjust camber on my car.
What I am trying to figure out is what specifications to get the car aligned to? Factory? Custom? If custom what specs exactly?
I want long tire life and improved...
I just installed a set of Eibach Prokits and Tokico Illuminas the other day.
I took the car to a shop but they refused to align it. They said they don't align lowered cars because they work with the factory numbers and a lowered car needs to be aligned to different specs due to the change in the...
Hey!En is hozzaszolnek akkor! Velem talalkoztal a WestEnd parkolojaban a minap. Talan valamikor en is az ocean ezen partjan latom a masik oldalon ragadt automat! Vagy visszamegyek hozza en LOL

Okay, things are going slower than I would like them to, but there is some progress! The timing was off indeed! Fixing that took care of the loud sound and vibration at high rpm's.
But the car still feels kinda lazy. I can actually feel power loss and gain during acceleration. I stil haven't...
It has a stock boost gauge. In neutral it was revving up and down with the old engine. With the new one the idle is stable but it sometimes is as low as 1200 sometimes as high as 2500!!!! 1200 was my lowest idle the srew is all the way screwed in.
I will be checking for boostleak tomorrow!
I used the USDM intake manifold and stuff, I am only usinfg the JDM engine and tranny.
I will check for boost leak and I will also check the exhaust and ECU.
Thanks for the replys!!
Yes, you are right the 1G's compression is a 165 after rolling out of the factory. Mine is 175...either the shops gauge is off balance or I heared the compression can get higher from carbon deposit in the head.
I will look into the timing though...
Well I have a '92 TSi AWD. I got the car with a really messed up engine so I got a low mile JDM. I have a new clutch, plugs, water pump, intake-. exhaust-, and valve cover gaskets, timing belt, timing belt tensioner, all accessories belts, etc. I had a shop do the install, I wish I had the...
