Now that e85 is a lot more common in places, I would love to have that feature in link to be able to let the ecu dynamically adjust the fuel based on ethanol content. Any chance that this will ever happen?
I just found this thread and just have to say that you have a awesome build going on.Since you are running E85, have you consider using this Zeitronix ECA : SEMA Award Winning Ethanol Content Analyzer and Flex Fuel Sensor for E-85 and E-85/gasoline Blendswould take the guessing game out of...
It all just really depends on what you want to do with the cars. If you get either car, are you going to mod it? If this is just a temp car until you get out of College, then I suggest geting the TL. Then when you are out of school and can afford it, get the GSX and start modding away without...
Yeah it sucks that the sellers paypal account was frozen. The seller told me to file a dispute on paypal to get my money back.On a side note, I ordered a set of cams directly from Briancrower.com last night and they just sent me a tracking number for the package. Talk about badass service. :)
I don't know if the group buy is still going on but Orlando DSM was having a group buy for the cams. 265shipped. They are also having specials on the springs and retainers. I sent my money out acouple of weeks now so hopefully I get my 280 cams in and I'll put a video up of what it sounds like.
Where are you feeding oil from??? One of my old buddies blew two turbos within a short time like you with the oil being fed from the head. I told him to switch it to the oil filter housing and this 3rd turbo has been fine ever since.
I have my boost gauge there too. I also hooked up 2 12v outlets on my car. One for my Radar Detector and the other for my cell phone charger/Power Inverter.
I know it's kinda late, but I have a ACT 2600 that held all the power that my car has produced. Current turbo is a FP Red running at 21psi and it holds just fine without slipping at all.
If I could do it all over again, I would of gotten 1000cc injectors. I have 880's right now and if I ever decided to go to a monster turbo then I wouldn't have to worry about upgrading again. BTW my car idles like stock with my 880's and DSMLink.
Did you just go through a motor rebuild?? Someone I know had the same issue and blew 2 turbos because he didn't want to be believe me that he was starving the turbos of oil. Where do you have your oil feed line tapped into?
Anyway you can take a close up picture of them. I guess Old Man eyes are getting to me and I can see them very well. At least the design of it. .... lol
IMO the best thing to do is find a decent bare 6bolt block and crank. Get it machined, and buy forged rods and pistons and install everything yourself. You would have a built bottom end for less then a "JDM tight yo" motor. Since your budget is 3k, you will have plenty of money left over to...
If I didn't work on my own car I would take it to FIST. Robert and Mike are a good bunch of guys. Now if you need to get your car dynoed I would take it to Engine Logics(FWD, AWD) or Autologics(FWD).
Yes there is a Houston DSM community. Go to http://htown-dsm.com/forum/
There are 3 places in Texas that have a AWD dyno, 2 in Houston(Engine Logics, and Turbocharger.com) and one in Austin. I wouldn't suggest taking it to Turbochargers.com(they have no clue what they are doing.) I highly...
Too bad you don't live around the Houston area. We have 2 AWD dyno's in town and there is also anothers that are not that bad of a driving distance away. :)
I have had my FMIC for over a month now without a single problem. I am running a FP Red without any type of heatsoak. I did 6 pulls with it and pulled over to feel my endtanks and they were pretty cold. Piping will always be somewhat warm considering how close to the motor it is.
Only Major cities in Texas have emission testing. I live in the Houston area but my car is registered up in the Bryan/College Area and I do not have to take a emissions test. I would say go for the 3inch exhaust. If all else fails, you could always find someone to get you a inspection sticker ;)
I have 3 mounted in my car. 1 for the radar detector, the stock one and the other one that is hard wired directly to the battery that I use for my power inverter to power my laptop.
It is not possible to get into the dsmlink forum without a registered copy of dsmlink. If I were you, I would forget about trying to buy it from that guys cause it sounds like a scam. Just start saving and get a new real copy of the link.
turbo98eclipse, I guess you want to have a setup like mine. Don't mind the 2g MAS that is still there, I still need to find a filter that will fit the FP Intake.
