You definitely can’t have the evo front calipers if you have a 17x9 +35. I tried. Maybe with spacers but then you’d want some fender flares to hide the bulge. I plan on doing the outlander upgrade since I don’t want to spend money attempting another 4-piston caliper again.
I did some light reading of the manual and I understand the headlight circuit more than I care to know now. The passing control relay is a safety relay to protect your pop-up motor in case the pop-up motor fails to cut the circuit to the pop-up relay. The circuit within the pop-up headlight...
I know this is an old post, but I want to verify the above poster’s solution. I’m not an electrical engineer, but from what I understand, the passing control relay is to allow 12V go to the pop-up motor for approx. 5 seconds. The purpose I assume is to not have a live 12V all the time going to...
I’ve gone to plenty in big cities and they’ve been pretty good. Weekend car meets were also organized through the cars and coffee Facebook pages. Looks like there’s a cars and coffee every weekend of the month besides the first weekend in Cabot, LR, and Maumelle. I’ll swing by this Saturday to...
I'm one of the hundreds of DSMs Steve (biglady112) tuned many years ago that netted me a 12.05 in my full-weight 16g car when I was in Colorado. I slightly modified the tune when I moved back to sea level accounting for the significant change in density altitude to run my 11.3. Car still runs...
I don't have any spacers on. I installed the front passenger caliper, then tried to put the wheel on and the spokes hit the caliper. From what I remember (it's been 2 years), I would have needed a big spacer for it to clear, so I gave up on it, sold them, and figured I'd try the CTS or VR-4...
I’d definitely try the plugs and wires first. I once had a no-start issue and thought my problem was something complicated and towed the car home, only to find out my spark plug wires were bad.If you have access to a timing light, you can connect it just to test if spark is getting to the...
No, they removed it to put their Innovate wide and in for the dyno run. Instead of clamping it to the exhaust pipe. And thanks! Maybe down the road I'll upgrade turbos but til then I have an interior to redo.I wish I knew. It's a full interior car though. I'll have it weighed soon. And...
Oh I'm not complaining at all about where it stands. My goal was 350-375hp so I'm done for now with performance upgrades. I just want to enjoy it on the track.I just bumped up a degree of timing to see what it'd do, but afterwards I put it back down. I didn't change anything else. I plan on...
Thanks! My launch is set to 5250. I shift around 7k because I want to stay in the range where the powerband is. I can tell how much slower the car is up top.
I decided to take my talon to the dyno as a birthday present to me. I went to the track last month and was able to get a 12.058 @ 117.5 mph. I think I should be able to hit mid 11's with more practice. I'm going to try using NLTS next time. I dyno'd on a Dynocom AWD Dyno (shop page here...
biglady112 street tuned my car so I definitely recommend you driving up there to Denver.Since I'm local I don't mind showing you what I know and how to do initial tuning stuff. That way when you see Steve you'll have an idea what he's doing when he does it.
While I'm no expert, I know my way around link and the basics. I can walk you through the fundamentals to get you started so you'll at least know what does what in there.
Just to give a long-awaited update: It wasn't until recently that I decided to try and fix the issue again. I came across this thread on DSMTalk: http://www.dsmtalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=234599&page=3I added a LOT of deadtime to the 10-12V batter range, which is where the battery...
After the struggled warm start, the car will start right away for the next hour after if I shut it off again. It doesn't sound like "vapor lock" described in that thread, especially because this problem happened in cold weather 8 hours after the car shut off. Thank you for the suggestion...
I posted this in the link forums, but it doesn't hurt to ask here, too!Ever since I switched to SD and E85, I've been having a problem with "warm" starts. I say "warm" because the car could be cold... okay, let me elaborate. My car will start immediately in the morning, OR after it's been...
Brian, I sent you an email 5 days ago and haven't gotten a reply yet. I can't check forums at work, nor do I rarely find time to call during the hours you're open.
Are you trying to get it to run decent, or are you trying to dyno-tune? I don't know much about tuning with a GM MAF, but I'm willing to learn. If I decide to drive up to Denver this weekend, I'll let you know. All I really know how to do right now is the basics. I don't know the super...
I'm in the red/black 1G talon around the eastside of town. I've seen people around the springs, too. I stopped by PPIR today and saw a couple more track-set DSMs. Let me know if you want to check out the scene around here. Maybe post something in the Denver area section of this forum. I'll...
I ended doing some cleaning in the garage, and found one in a box with other misc stuff, like oem shifter bushings and turbo-timers I forgot I had since I moved. Haha, but thanks for the offer! If you ever want to make a trip to the 1/4 strip, or want to get out on PPIR, let me know!
The nipple on my 16g broke off, which makes my high boost "problem" make sense. Anyone in the springs have one?? I would like to get it asap. Thanks! And if anyone needs a 2g MAF sensor w/ k&n and pipe for a 14b/16g turbo, or a 1G BOV w/ dodge garage mod, I have these sitting in a box!
Man, how many sites do they have?! I ordered from them because they're local to me. They're also at SiliconeIntakes.com as well as ANFittingsDirect.com. I've been running they're lines on E85 since February and have no leaks as far as I can tell.12' was just enough for me on my 1G. 13'...
Hey, Ernie's alive! Haha. I was one of those who showed up to a couple events like the 1st and 2nd regional meet. Then college and life happened, and now I'm in Colorado. Someone needs to take initiative if they want to keep the local DSM community alive. I'm trying to meet some DSMr's in...
If you can find he name that'd be great. I'm willing to make the drive if the place has a good reputation.I'm interested in any racing club. I just want to get on track and learn to drive my car to its full potential. It won't handle like your Miata I'm sure, but I think it'll still be fun.
Yeah there's no real rush for me to get painted. I could do some interior or suspension stuff in the meantime. Also, it looks like the Academy is booked the next couple months, so I won't be getting the surgery til June-ish. Thanks
If you plan on doing it yourself, I'm willing to pay someone for a garage job. I can help with body work and everything and will pay for parts and labor. As far as Open Lapping Days, I'm looking around June time frame to start. I'm looking to get PRK soon (thanking the government for...
So I'm finally going to be spending money on cosmetics for my car. I'm looking for any known good places to get some body and paint work done. Let me know if you know of any please. Also, if you know of a place to get tinted, as well as a place to roll fenders or have a fender roller, let...
Prices updated. If you have good suggestions on a place to do body work and paint let me know! As well as tint, and maybe a place to reupholster my torn leather seat. And if someone has the tool to roll fenders. I'm going to give my cosmetics some well-needed attention. Thanks!
Located in Colorado Springs. Will ship via USPS and include tracking if not local. Will discount on multiple items. Prices are $local (L)/$not local (N)PTE 780cc Injectors - Purchased brand new 5 years ago. Ran 93 its whole life, and one tank of 91 octane. Has exactly 38,773 miles...
I have PTE 780cc injectors that just came off my car (installed 1600s). I bought them new and put 37,000 miles on them running 93 octane (and a couple tanks of 91). I also have a dejon intake for a 2G MAF and recirculating tube, as well as a drilled hole/JB-welded bung for the valve cover...
This is kind of a shot in the dark, but maybe check your bolts from the tranny to the engine block? I'm trying to picture what would be going on. Since it only happens when you're moving, I'm going to assume the noise is from your axles or something around there that spins. If it only happens...
Was the car originally black? or was the engine bay painted? If so, I'm going to assume the motor could have been taken out at some point? If the teggy is your DD, I wouldn't do the trade personally. If it's not a daily, then I might. You might risk some late days coming into work, or a...
Jack,First off, my comment was not directed towards your company. I made a comment on the problem, and did not direct fault at anyone. It very well could be a problem on my end, but I can't say for sure. I've actually been in touch with Tim through emails that span over a year and still...
