Yo Vince... Good to know somebody is still at it. Good looking car, I must say. I just got a call letting me know my motor is back on track. I've been down for a while but the wait should be well worth it!
Funny yet admirable. I only pray that I get to work on the Talon with great grand kids one day while teaching them naughty catch phrases. I'm going to be like SrKegler when I grow up!
Hopefully you don't have busted diff with broken spider gears getting caught up in other gear sets.Otherwise, the occasional noise may be due to the fact that you still have the viscous coupler installed. Power is transferred through that before the center diff. If you have a seized...
I've been trying to figure out the same thing. I just pulled out the first half of the shaft on mine a couple days ago. I'm looking to get a port job on my manifold so I have to get that secondary shaft out.Considering the 2 sides mate together, I can't see how there could be somthing...
Sounds like the gremlin... Thanks.I tried checking oil pressure to the turbo investigating the problem of stalling in between gears. I don't think I thought it through too well when hooking up the gauge so I'm not going to go by the "no oil pressure at WOT".FYI: I used a 3/8" Tee...
I agree. Maybe the ch-ch-ch I hear is the BOV releasing to keep boost constant. Kind of an open-close-open-close due to the spring pressure in the RFL instead of a smooth release of excess boost. The surge I get does resemble a boost leak. Still doesn't explain the stall I get between gears...
I saw this definition of Compressor Surge from a previous thread:TurboByGarrett.com - FAQ's"...Compressor surge is when the air pressure after the compressor is actually higher than what the compressor itself can physically maintain. This condition causes the airflow in the compressor...
I know there's a few people from the area going. I'll have to wait till thursday to find out if I can use my arm or not. Dislocated it riding the fourwheeler this weekend. :banghead: I may still go if I can catch a ride with someone.
Thanks... I added a few more pics to my gallery. I want more close up shots but any closer and you can see the damaged clear coat. It's only on the top of the fenders, the roof and the spoiler. Not too mention all the double stick tape for the body parts need to be redone. I'm shooting for a...
I had an Automatic' 92 Honda Accord 4dr. Old F22 with Underdrive pulleys, header, exhaust, CAI, Coilovers and 17" konigs. At the time of alignment, had the mechanic leave in -1 degree of camber and the thing handled great. Pretty good turn outs on the Autocross track. Sold it and got the Talon.
It's got history, love, determination, drama, and it still manages to give you one of those warm and fuzzy feelings. This should be made into a movie. Call it "Faster than the Furious":DI'm really curious about the results on the Intake Manifold. I have one laying around and have been...
If there is any anticipation of getting another DSM, whatsoever. Then you are a DSM'er at heart. I know how it goes man, I had a GSR untill I was ready to get back into mine. Sold it when I started up again. Come out with the B20 next time. I'm actually kinda curious cause I thought about...
Those "Light show" gauges don't react fast enough anyways. By the time it shows your wayyyy lean... oooops, too late.Where exactly did you stick the MAF for the blowthrough. Between blowoff and TB? It either needs a better tune with those 660's or you have a boost leak after the sensor...
what up guys? i had to stop messin with the car for a while due to remodeling my house. the good news is, though, that the car is running well exept for a leaky TB shaft seal. let me know when ya'll want to get together. I'm off 4 days every other week.Kongo, what kind of controller...
Yeah, you're right...! Sorry bout that. I was trying to figure why the FPR and the boost gauge wouldn't be working. The main thing though is the FPR. He is only reading 30psi. should be 43psi, that is assuming he's got a '95 ECU. If he's reading 30 psi on a 43psi regulator, then he's got...
10MM's are bigger. If you got em, use em. not too much difference though, just overkill IMO. my bad, thought you had a turbo. Thanks for the save Habitatguy. Gaps should be different. you should do the BRP-5es for plugs. I believe those are the recommended stock replacement. The plugs i...
If your boost gauge is tied into the FPR vaccum line... the vaccum leak would be the easiest place to start. That would cause your FPR to not hold pressure and make your boost gauge read the way it does. With the fuel pressure, if you pull the line, you have to plug the vaccum line and you...
dang man.... ya'll are are just pushin me to swap out my tranny. I can't go cruisin in Biloxi with a "syncro absent 2nd gear". ah well, i don't care either way. I'm down, haven't been out there since the USAF days anyway. It'll be nostalgic.
perfect weekend... I just went throught the calendar and I will be off that weekend. Hopefully it stays. Not a bad idea about the bbq but if there is alchahol involved, a place to sleep would be in order. i got a DWI already, don't need another...
oh yeeeeaaaahh!!! I'm down... got another guy here in Lafayette that's down too, just talked to him. advanced notice is a plus as i'm off every other weekend now with my new schedule change.
Ok hold up... I'm guessing the scan tool is showing 0hz for airflow? Isn't there a resistance check you can do with a multimeter on the MAF? I haven't messed with one in a long time. give me some more details, i gotta run for a minuite but will be back
Do you have a multimeter. Try checking the TPS, as mentioned before, and the ISC motor according to the manual. Could be the ISC froze or just isn't stepping like it should.
I've autocrossed mine before back when i had the 16G on it. It was crazy trying to keep the turbo spooled so I wouldn't try now with my Holset. If you're looking to autocross for fun, it really doesn't take much. On the other hand if you're interested in getting serious about it... I would...
Saweeet! Thanks guys, that was alot of fun! I'm still kind of depressed about my numbers but I was also able to look at my car from a different perspective. Got some help on the forum and It's starting to improve a little bit. Thanks again for the opportunity.
Sorry man, it was just timing. I assumed you were going to plan it for earlier. I was planning to make it and make it back in time for other plans. The effort doesn't go unappreciated though. :thumb:
Hold up. I didn't realize you were going to make this so late in the afternoon. I got other stuff going on too. If it were earlier say 10 or 11 i could do it but i got other plans for 5pm.
Is it a squealing or a whining noise? Could be the compressor wheel rubbing on something to a tiny boost leak making a "stretching the mouth of a balloon full of air" type of noise
