Check the anti-rattle clips too. If they look old and worn replace them. I had an embarrassing sqeauking noise coming from the wheel and it turned out to be the anti-rattle clip rubbing on the back side of the rotor. The clip was worn and bent and wouldn't stay in it's correct position on the...
I see you have a 5-speed so i'm not sure if it's in the same location, but on the autos the starter bolts up to the back of the tranny bellhousing near the upper left hand corner. It's 2bolts.
It's a PITA to get to!

http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/catalog.php?carcode=1356634&parttype=1636The third item down the list is the one i bought. That fourth item wasn't on there when i was shopping, and it's too expensive anyway.
I just purchased what i thought was a rear wheel hub assembly from Rockauto.com for my 99 GSX. This is what i received from them. Now, i thought that the hub with the wheel studs and everything came with the assembly? Will this still work?
Just for future reference, you can tell it's an Eprom ecu by the letter E in the bottom right corner of the label in the top picture. All Eprom ecu's will have the "E" in that location.

Almost every single gas station in america wouldn't post this same sign if there wasn't a good reason for it. :rolleyes:It's a safety issue, get over it.
I have an automatic Talon that had this problem. Turns out it was the lockup solenoid (aka...the torque converter clutch solenoid). What was happening was that the torque converter would lock up like it's supposed to in the higher gears (it's a fuel economy thing) but then when i slowed to a...

Here's another reason to stay smoke-free. Have you ever been talking to someone who's a smoker and smelled their breath? :barf:Use that saved money for something that you'll actually get a benefit from. Like mods for your car. :thumb:
Yes, i hid it between the passenger seat and the center console. They probably still saw the wire coming out through the center vent, but they didn't say anything!
I hate to resurrect this thread but i finally passed emissions. :rocks: I recently got an safc and went to test my car the other week, but the manager wouldn't let me retest because of my open element air filter. So today i put the stock air intake back on and i leaned out my low throttle...
Where is your line coming from that goes to the wastegate actuator?
If it's not coming from the compressor housing or j-pipe or some other source then you need to tee that line from the bov to the intake manifold and run another line down to the wastegate actuator. I didn't see a tee in that...
Also, if the SAFC was previously owned, make sure your rpm points are all zeroed out. If they're not and are too high or low the ecu will throw a fuel trim code.
1. I had lifter tick constantly, even after the car warmed up.2. I used a can of Restore (little silver can at your local auto store) and an OEM Mitsu oil filter
together with an oil change. (Mobil 1 synthetic)3. Lifter tick is gone!! Has not come back. Did this over 2 months ago.4...
It's fuel cut. It's because you upgraded your exhaust. You increased your exhaust flow and now the wastegate can't bypass enough of it fast enough. I got the same problem right now. Looks like porting is in our futures. :)
