A running FD cannot be had for 7-8k. If you find one, there is something wrong or about to be wrong very soon. And most people charge 2k+ for an engine rebuild. But a turbo2 FC would be feasible for about 2-4k, and then you can rebuild the motor, have it ported, possibly new turbo and intercooler.

If you are referring to the no lift to shift, that is something different that I hardly know anything about. But if you want to know about bullshitting around driving in traffic(NO HIGH RPMS!!!!) then its easy, just match the RPMs. Slide it out of gear and slide into the next one before the RPMs...

It would be the perferred method in commercial vehicles, saves on clutches, plus the RPM's on those diesels don't go much higher than 2k.

Get your CDL and see how you drive afterwards, its not hard and I never grind a gear. Its all smooth.

For everyday low rev driving i don't use the clutch except for 1st and reverse.
