No major rust as far as I know. Bought it from a gentleman in San Francisco Bay Area.
Just finding a virgin 6 bolt block was a task and not cheap. Plus the labor to machine and put it together. Anyway, not trying to make a killing here just trying to pass it forward to someone who can take care...
Once you’re here with the money I am easily persuaded. Hate making general promises and nothing in the end. I won’t be attached to the cyclone and other engine once I pass this on.
Made some more changes to the car. Mainly a refreshed NT 6 bolt block and Hyundai head and manifold. New clutch as well. Have about 2000 miles on this engine.
Having done this before I recall the cyclone coil pack location will get intimate with the AC compressor at least on my galant VR4. Had to use a home made coil pack bracket same location just moved to clear. And the manifold bracket clearanced some. Finding a JDM ac compressor would make life so...
Props to you if you can remove cyclone manifold with engine in car. I remove the head and do head gasket and timing belt each time I needed cyclone off. Lol.
That sucks. At least you got it figured out.The cyclone manifold bracket only needs to be modified to clear the AC compressor. Otherwise it’s a bolt on affair. Not sure if you saw the modification I did, it was mostly on the side to clear the AC.
The PTU I just mounted behind the cyclone manifold using some flat scrap aluminum for heat sink. I think it was there originally on cyclone set up. You can barely see but here is a snap of it.
That will work. I tried coil on pack too and gave up. You can see my mock up. I still have the set up somewhere.
I mounted mine on the cyclone coil pack original location. Just made my own coil pack bracket out of some flat bar.
Had to grind one of the mounting boss in the back.
It is a very...

Thought I post my Craigslist ad here....DSM 50 trim (Bolt on) - $250 (Anaheim)
Not E-bay turbo. I have been asked so just to be clear, not an ebay turbo.
As title says, DSM 50 trim for sale, just removed 2 days ago. It will come with feed and drain lines (AN). Couple of the turbine...
I cut mine, but only by about an inch...yours is pretty drastic, albeit looks cooler. You do feel the difference when you lose the ease of shifting when you shorten it, no other way around that. Like you said, 5th is the hardest to get used to.Looks good.
I actually modified mt ATS to open sooner by taking the pre tension off the spring.I went as far as the spring barely holding itself in the pipe, but dont want anymore cause i was afraid it would rattle. Is it worth the $200 price, not sure...personally I would just go with a big muffler...
My car came with 3 inch megan all the way to the back. Fortunately it also came with a ATS. It works. It is very quiet at idle and crusing. The downside is it is restictive. So there's backpressure on your system while you're part throttle and don't have enough pressure to open the ATS. At WOT...
I have owned several dsms and never have much trouble with smog as long as you have a healthy engine, a good catalytic converter and fuel trims are inline. Also, make sure you run your car hot, like freeway driving for a while hot then dont turn it off after. Just let it idle waiting.This...
I ended up buying a new master and slave and its better now. Kinda hard to get in gear, no grinding just very notchy but it shifts. I'm thinking clutch - so that will be next on list of tings to do. Thanks guys!
I normally don't post much but this one has me stumped. I am looking for ideas or someone who had the same issues.I bleed the cutch and it drives fine for a while. However, when I depress the clutch slave cylinder back (checking for adjustment stop point per Jack's instructions) I lose the...

Why don't you try re installing the BCS restrictor back to see where the boost ends up?You can always remove it again after, and it's simple enough to do.
Purple power or something like that. From PEPBoys. It's gets the grime and oil off. Just soak for a few minutes then rinse with water.Just be careful with it, it will dry out your skin.
This was on my old 1G.I had installed a cyclone intake manifold. I had to grind a knob on top the AC compressor and grind some material off the bottom of the manifold. I did a pre fit and wherever it was hitting, i just put the grinder to it until they no longer touch...LOL!It's been a...
On my old 90, I passed without the EGR (cyclone manifold installed) functioning, it was installed but cyclone IM has no provisions for it. This was also on a "test only" smog center. On my old 98, I passed without the charcoal canister (FMIC installed) since it got in the way of FMIC piping...
Actually, the RCA conversion harness should have a small wire that ties into the amp. That's the signal wire to power the amp, you can probably tie into that for the power antenna. As for the noise, just make sure your RCAs are not touching metal or each other and try to keep them away from...
Different purpose. Cyclone as mentioned is for low to midrange power without sacrificing too much top end. I had one on my 1G and can tell the difference in low-mid range torque. EVO 3 has shorter runners for mid-top end gain. I can't speak for it since I have never used one.
So after a full day of driving around, I can safely say that the red spring is suited for my application. Daily driving with occasional WOT or spirited driving every now and then.I also noticed that even with the red spring the shifting firmness is still better than stock. One thing I...
So I was driving to work yesterday and my car started downshifting from 3-2 harshly and with stop and go traffic here on California freeways, it drove me crazy.I love the firmness of the black spring but I just put in the red spring last night and will see how she does. Initial around the...
Not sure if it is true on 2G but on a 1G, the CEL will come on after a while of disconnecting the EGR vacuum. There is a temperature sensor that senses the hot gases is making it's way to the EGR valve or not. Again this was on a 1G
Just for archiving purpose, I have actually switched from Transgo to Translab. The Transgo did what it says on the box, firm up 2-3 shift. The rest felt stock. It did not have you drill as many holes as Translab or came with as many replacement springs. It was decent for the $25 that I paid...
If you don't mind running without a filter for a run or two so you can eliminate the pressure drop from the whole intake. Basically, run one without filter - record, then another one with filter - then record. The difference is the filter pressure drop. Just a thought.
I had one on my 90 gst with a small 16g and t definitely gave me more midrange torque. As for topend, no noticeable difference there. I would do it again on a 6 bolt. I have a 2g now.
You should get a camber kit unless you want a negative camber. You'll hear people tell you to just an alignment and correct the toe and you'll be fine. This is doable, but having a camber kit will bring everything back to specs.
Where does everyone get their chip lately? I believe DSMChips (Jeff) no longer takes order for new customers. It's a daily driver and I just want a chip to convert the boost guage to knock guage as well as a few basic changes. I already have an EPROM ECU.I searched and didn't come up with...
