My fuse box relocation (project log)

Beautiful! I would just recommend verifying that your dipstick tube is just barely touching the manifold blanket. I didn't persuade my tube enough and it ended up touching and rubbing up on the blanket enough so that it wore a hole in it over time. Please don't be like me, and keep your...

2G 1997 Talons w/ Baer Big Brake Kit - Rotors?

If your Baer big brake kit was anything like mine or any other Baer big brake kit that used the PBR corvette sliding caliper that you referenced, then yes I would say that the rotor was indeed a Baer one-off simply because the rotor would fit onto your hub without the need for a hubcentric ring...

    1G timing belt question/fluidampr questions

I had to file down the ribs on this oem gray mitsu 1g 6-bolt cover, as well as the oem gray mitsu 1g 7-bolt cover that was on my 1994 talon.

    1G timing belt question/fluidampr questions

I recently filed my 6-bolt lower tb cover down to clear my Fluidamper. It broke my heart to do this to a fresh new oem part, but it had to be done. I basically had to file it totally flush and completely eliminated the rib protrusion to avoid the rubbing.

    DUDES-CUSTOM-PARTS.COM is online!

Congrats getting the website up man! The site is still a little buggie though? I’m not really a computer savvy guy, but I tried shopping the site but kept getting “Server Error (500)” on pretty much everything I clicked on. Can’t wait to check it out again though once things are working!

Resolved Quick help needed: torque setting for this 1G tensioner bolt?

Do you guys use Grey Permatex instead of Loctite to prevent bolts from vibrating loose in general, just because the Grey comes in a big giant tube and is cheaper and it is "multi-purpose" since it is also generally kept on hand to seal stuff anyways? I've always just used Loctite to keep bolts...

    1G Eccentric bolts-Volk arms

I just re-used my old eccentric bolts that were on the oem rear control arms. I think you still need them, I still plan to make any alignment changes with them, and I would only lengthen/shorten the arms if I max out any alignment settings.

    CTS-V Brake Upgrade Spacer Question

I did the hybrid solution myself and was using 2.5mm spacers along with the machining. I'm not in love with the spacers though because it pushes things out just enough for the wheel to no longer be hubcentric :notgood:. I also ended up getting 1mm thick titanium brake pad shims from Girodisc...

Note that this was a 2g trans going into my 1g Laser, so I used a 2g starter plate, swapped in 1g speedo gear, 1g shifter cable brackets, and also had BOTH shifter lever arms on the trans swapped out to 1g while the trans was at the shop getting checked out. A few thoughts I had on the Moroso oil pan:1. Make sure you clean it out thoroughly before you use it!!!!! Brand new out of the box, I noticed a noticeable amount of silvery sparkley metallic flakes, particularly at all the welds. I cleaned mined out thoroughly as soon as I noticed this...

CF Hood - radiation barrier - heat blanket.

    calan catch can

No, I do not. I’ve only heard of keeping the PCV if using a separate second catch can. With that said though, if you are worried that the Radium Dual is too small, then maybe consider just get one large 2 port sealed catch can (ie: Radium competition tall or anything equivalent) for just the...
  39. talon77

    calan catch can

That is a "closed loop" 4 port can, yepI have no idea if the Dual Radium cans will be big enough for you; that would depend on how much blow by your motor makes and your threshold on tolerating emptying the cans. I really wish I had a better answer for you... if you are worried that the cans...
  40. talon77

    calan catch can

I bet that would work just fine because it is filtered and baffled. That is a pretty generously sized can, I would think the capacity stops where the little holes in the baffles stop though (ie: if all the little baffle holes are submerged, I don't see air flowing through them if the two can...
  41. talon77

    calan catch can

I have not tried it, but have you ever opened that can before to verify that it has filters or baffles in it? I think I researched that can before I bought Radium and I didn't find anything on it, so I assumed it was just an empty can... which is not really good. Do you know if it has...
  42. talon77

    calan catch can

Gotcha. I agree, the can definitely needs to have a good baffle/filter design to be worthwhile. FWIW, the Radium is nicely baffled and filtered (imo at least), but not sure one can call it "dual" filtered/baffled like yours... Radium forces the air through the stainless filter media, then...
  43. talon77

    calan catch can

How big is the can that you made/sold Bobby? For reference to the OP, the Radium dual can is 16 ounces total volume (two separate 8 ounce cans). I ran a quick calc before awhile back on the volume of the Calan and do recall it was quite a bit bigger than the Radium dual. FWIW, bigger volume...

    calan catch can

I hope you find the 4 port Calan Catch Can that you are looking for. I was in the same boat as you earlier looking for a Calan and I couldn't find one, but I think this alternate 4-port catch can solution from Radium Engineering might meet your needs if you don't have any luck finding one...

I totally learned something from this thread! JDM intake manifold unknown part

You're going to have to make the gaskets... oem gaskets have been discontinued years ago... I smeared a very very thin film of grey...
