Manuel, you're in Canada, our ruling is a bit different. Go to casc.on.ca and register for the forums they have alot of pictures and info there and you can find CASC's actual rulebook on rolecages. Basically all styles are pretty similar, the more important aspect is the material you'll be using...
So I brought my stripped down Talon to it's long due virgin shakedown last Wednesday to Cayuga's road course and it ran amazing...for a maximum of 5 laps at a time.Everything about the car ran amazing except for the cooling system. After about 5 laps it would overheat rapidly and I'd have to...
Are you drag racing your car or lapping it?Aluminium rods aren't your best choice for a 'safe lasting' engine. I know teams that need to replace their aluminium rods every 4 passes (Drag), however they make over 900 whp and run nitrous. Manley rods are amazing. The main gain you get out...
I have their redesigned 1g kit. Flanged for greddy, and also comes with a knockoff greddy type S bov.
Piping's aluminum, comes with t-bolt clamps, silicone couplers and everything else needed. Good deal, we'll see how it holds with 21psi...
All you need to do is mount it to the 'frame' infront of the radiator. There should be 2 holes for bolts on each side, just weld a plate onto the intercooler and you're set. Also on a 12" tall intercooler expect to have to bend the hood latch a bit or just mount the intercooler a little lower...
First make a boost leak tester, should cost you about $20 in parts at Home Depot.Search on how to make one, it's very simple...then attach it to an air compressor until you hit 'X' psi and listen for leaks.Good idea would be to put watery soap over anything having to to with intake...
Found this list of nonos that i wrote up a couple months ago.Bought these straight from the dealer, and the results were no good.Valve springs are the same seat pressure as stock, but 20lbs more at open.Coild bind is too soon.
Cam takes spring up too close to the coil bind.
Coil...
Wow thanks alot guys, that link made it much easier to understand what's going on in the connector. :thumb:Im going to the auto wreckers today to pick up a hood prop, but ill pick up a pigtail too just in case.THANK YOU
So i was adjusting my tps sensor (1g) and stupidly i knocked out a wire that goes into the CONNECTOR.No clue how these connectors are assembled, is it possible to somehow get the wire back in there or do i just need to find a pigtail to solder into? If able to fix, what do i need to do/get?

So i'm getting some idling problems, so i decided to check the ohms level on my TPS.I followed www.plymouthlaser.com and instead of reading 5 ohms, im reading 0 no matter which direction i turn the tps.I'm...
So i've made my 1g into a stroker and now i need much better brakes without breaking the bank.Ive heard cobra brakes work and are quality, but what do i need? (obviously rotors and calipers...)What year cobra rotors and calipers will fit?THANX
HAHA ya my buddy just explained that to me, I have a 2g 7bolt, and apparentlythe 93 laser came with a 1g 7bolt, so everything's 1g on it, thanx guys.### forgive me for my ignorance we dont get much laser in Canada.:coy:
Also how about th ecu? Since it does have a 2g motor would the ecu be that of a 2g or 1g? I'm asking this because i'm trying to see if i can use a 1g maf setup.
OK...so i know my talons and eclipses very well, but not the laser. I just bought a 93 (1gb) Laser rs awd and i know it has a 7bolt (2g) motor in it stock. Althought the motor is from a 2g, im guessing by the looks of everything (interior mainly) the suspension would be like the 1g talons...
Thats your fuel pump actually working. Just in case pull off the rear seat and check for any gas spilling off the rubber fuel line and then check under the car for gas leakage. If everything's dry then thats your little motor doing what it does best, delivering fuel.
Hey, I'm stuck inbetween which cf hood to buy. I've checked alot of sites, but they don't seem to have any pictures of their hood on an actual eclipse. This bothers me because of our big hump on the driver side, so for example the VIS invader hood looks nice, until you put it on a dsm...it...
Go to the vfaq, or the upgrade path, it's very doable. I can name a few off my head: intake, 3"exhaust, no cat, 680cc injectors, fuel pump+rewire, mbc to 15psi,port intake and exhaust manifolds and 02housing (very simple D.I.Y), some kind of quality tuning, if that doesnt get you there then...
DONT get an A/F gauge. I bought one when i first bought the car and then realised it was a huge waste of money. Basically it's a show light that gets "aroused" every few seconds and moves red yellow green. It's very unprecise and should never be used for tuning. EGT is better, and since you...
Whenever my cars in idle i hear a ticking sound coming from the engine bay. I popped the hood and it seems to be coming from the driver side so im guessing the timing belts or maybe crankshaft? After about 3 minutes or so of clicking, it'll stop a run smoothly for a few minutes but tehn pick...
I work at a dealership and i got one of the techs to install a Centerforce Stage 1 Clutch and a Fidanza Flywheel for me today. He took it for a spin and said it was fine after the install, BUT:
1. when i drove it the clutch fell straight to the ground. This is a racing clutch, so it...
Quick release to prevent theft...think about it.When you go to the grocery store or mall wtvr, you take off the steering wheel. Where will you put it?If the thief already broke into your car without triggering the alarm, then i guess he's smart enough to look into the trunk or backseat...
I had the stock 2g shift knob and liked it, it's heavy enough for some. BUT i've tried the Greddy Counterweight shift knob and it makes shifting so much more accurate. You never get lost in between gears especially with the tricky 2nd to 3rd and 4th to 5th.The extra weight makes a...
"A spark plug's voltage requirement is directly proportionate to the gap size. The larger the gap, the more voltage is needed to bridge the gap. Most experienced tuners know that opening gaps up to present a larger spark to the air/fuel mixture maximizes burn efficiency. It is for this reason...
thanx for the reply, I remember reading this before, but considering i have a turbo timer, i don't need a toggle switch to turn on the extra fan after a long drive. But after reading this in closer detail, i see it's also running in parrallel, so i guess that's what ill do.thanx again
So i just installed some nice 12" FAL slim fans, to make room. I hooked up the wires for both single fans properly, but my AC fan won't come on, no biggie. I'm planning on removing the wholeAC unit (i have a spyder, so when its hot i drop the top ;) ) Should i wire the second fan in parallel...
What would be more benificial, wrapping my fmic pipes with exhaust wrap (to hold in constant temperature), or "Cool Tape" (to reflect heat from engine off it)?
Is it worth buying the one made for the 97 eclipse ($400), or should i just buy 2X12" universal fans from FAL ($200)?If i were to purchase 2 12 inchers, how complicated is the install/wiring?
I know somebody on this sites going to call me stupid, but ive been "stuffing" it by my intake filter and keeping the hood latch unlocked, but semi closed...I was wondering why my a/f gauge was reading rich, and after 5 seconds of thinkin i realised it's cuz IM BLOCKING MY...
I also have the CEL on, but my car runs fine. Havent gotten it cheked out yet, but on my a.f gauge it says im running roughly mid stoichiometric (mildly open throttle), and 2 light rich at WOT...should i get a tune up?
I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM!!! ...i couldnt resist the cheap kinetic fmic that i got a nice hookup for, i guess serves me right. :nono:Also, i have a SAFCII. When i had the car run without it, it bogged, but when i connected the safcII it reved smoothly. Also it seems im running mid...
In most FMIC's you need to relocate your coolant overflow bottle. Where's a good place (not too hot)? I was thinking of where the SMIC used to be.any ideas/pics?
OK, so I was changing the oil in my transfer case (97 fwd) and I removed the drain plug. I was going to fill it up again, but the fillplug was stuck. I tried everything to take that 17mm off (closed wrench/hammer, vice grips/hammer) and sadly it ate up the nut and rounded it. That was when i...
that sounds interesting...did you have any problems during install, or after/where there any benefits? I think i may giver a try sometime, if you recommend it.ps. i saw u live in aurora, i went2boarding school there for half a yr (sac) till i got kicked out lol... :shhh: my 2cents...
Well concidering it really has nothing to do with the fuel management, the motor turns properly, accelerates no differently either. I just wanted to see what you guys thought was the best...ill test'r out at the track plugged and unplugged, and give u guys the results after i sh!t pump it lol...
ya ive tried that, and........no dice :notgood:my alternatives r either wat i said b4...or trim 2inches wide by .25 inch high on the udner part of the upper strut tower bar.
so i bought a DC SPORT upper strut tower bar and i noticed that the MDP sensor is in the way (actually only the brown clip part). Is it possible to turn the sensor around (by enlongating the 3 wires) and the sensor will still work properly?
OR
if i just unplug the sensor would my ecu still...
ooo shiize...forgot bout the turbine being spun by exhaust fumes making the headers attached to the actual exhaust by means of the turbo... rookie mistake, my bad, i guess i didnt give it much thought lol :notgood:thanx
