Sorry for the thrad revival last night. I stumbled upon it and realized there are so many dead-end threads where people had issues on this site, And just up and left, Never to post back.
If your car cranks, Check: spark, Check for fuel, Check compression. If you are trying to turn the car on, And it's only ''clicking'', Check: All gorunds, Both starter wires, Battery, All fuses. After you check the above, your car should be running and your problem situated. If not...
Paul,I would greatly appreciate it if you can relay the message to the original threadstarter, To contact me ASAP. I've been awaiting my payment for parts I shipped him over two months ago, With nothing but b/s replies, And 1/4 of the payment arriving.
Yes, He did. He got the flywheel from me atleast 2 months ago now. I took his word on ''good faith'' as he said he would send the payment once he receieved the package. It's been two months, And I've receieved a money gram for 1/4 of the payment. All I get are a bunch of different reasons as to...
I don't know about other cars, But on a dsm, It NEEDS to be done. If not, The torque convertor will get ''stuck'' on the shaft, And he'll wipe out the pump, Along with other parts. I've seen it done plenty of times in the past, Where the garage forgot to ''click'' it into place. You can look it...
IF the transmission is already installed, But he did not click the torque convertor in three clicks, the car WILL NOT move or will move but for a very, VERY short period of time.As for you getting a 1g trans, You would instantly know as you can bolt up a 1g trans to a 2g motor, But you CANNOT...
Before anything, Did your mechanic remember to click the torque convertor into the transmission 3- times before installing/trying to start the car? If not, He just cost you quite a bit of money...
I constantly tell myself to record what I do in my garage, But it never seems to happen. I build dsms of mine every day in my garage (Literally, Always have a dozen there minimum usually), And do everything which almost every one gets a ground up build and color-change. I always think when i'm...
Small world, That's my Brother's gsx. I told him if he brought it to my area, I can easily sell the car for 5-6k within a week, but it's 12hrs away . I buy/build/sell TONS of these cars (Have a dozen now), And were doing 3-6 every month last year. Where I live, They sell extremly fast. I just...
I don't post much on these forums anymore (Been a member for 11 years), But when I useto post daily to help others, I then was told by a few new members I had no idea what I was talking about, And that I do not own/work on these cars. They shot me down, Called me a liar, So I just stopped...
Hahahaha. Thanks. The whole maxima thing was a joke amongst friends locally . I also have a ton of others, But unfortunatly not super rare cars or anything. Tons of dsm's though which is a plus :)
I daily drive my skyline, With a car seat in the back and a stroller in the trunk..... It's unfortunate what happen to the car, But most people with ''rare/expensive'' cars think that they should be garaged and never driven/touched at all.
Before anything, You need to remove the metal ring on the end of the crank that is used with an auto trans/torque convertor..... You cannot have that ring there for a 5spd car.
Just ask DEFIANT on here.I'm 26, And have had well over 200 dsm's already, Not including the tons of them that I buy to part out or use as parts cars, Which is ALOT.
Give me a call in the morning and I will stop up to help you out! I will bring the line with me just incase. It should easily be long enough. I will check first thing in the a.m. on the plug, I know I have one, I just hafto quick find it!
Give me a call when you wake up monday a.m. (570)926-5493. I usually get to my garage at 8am, So I can be at yours by 830 or so. My names Rob. :)Before anything, Did you check your clutch master cylinder on the inside of the car, To make sure it's not leaking fluid down the firewall? If so...
If Ricky wasen't able to stop up (He left my garage pretty late tonight), Then I can stop early in the a.m. monday through friday of this coming week to help you. Just let me know. I'm in Hazleton so it'll only take me 20min to get to you.

Yes, The fwd has a larger bell-housing and also a larger flywheel (or in your case, Torque converter). Also , The starter plates are different. Who ever did the work, Did they use the correct starter plate? When the trans was installed, Did they click the torque converter in three clicks to the...
2g mounts are totally different then 1g mounts. On a 1g car, The actual front and rear mounts are on the engine, Where as on a 2g those mounts are on the trans. The passenger side trans mount also bolts up completly different on a 1g then a 2g, Aswell as the drivers side engine mount. You need...
Just seen this on my ''face book''. ROFLLOL(If you click the link, It should show the pictures. If not, It's the car you are speaking of. Apparently he has a shop? He does custom work out of a garage that looks like it was put together in 5 minutes with scrap wood. He painted the car green...
Over 200, EASILY. Almost 100 last year alone. I buy/build/sell/part them although I am just a private buyer and seller (Yes, There are ways around the 10-car max aloud by the state). I just bought 3 more in the past two days. Same goes for wrx/sti's ,
Original poster is in the process of finishing up a GROUND UP build on an sti (Was an un-rolling roof and 1/4's. not a single wire/bolt on the car). Waiting to get his motor back from the machine shop now).
Gofer: Thank you for posting the picture, That's actually one of my gsx's.Here are a few more pictures for you. ALL vents ARE functional on mine, So I'm not sure why some have this hood and did not get functional vents? The weird thing about these types of hoods with vents ETC is that the...
If you can't find one, Just use a LARGE C-clamp, And ''notch'' out a socket with a grinder so that when you put the socket on top of the retainer, You have a ''port/opening'', That you can get the keepers out from.
You would know if you got an OEM replacement... The disc is circle, And is NOT a puck clutch... Do you have a picture? This is what a 4-puck clutch looks like:Competition Clutch Stg. 5 (Sprung 4 Puck) Clutch Kit (DSM)
The oil pump is part of the front case. You need to use your 'gears' that the timing belt goes on, Unless you want to purchase them new. The part number you listed is for one without the gears..
Just a FYI, I've sold about 6 of these basically brand new in the past month on the forum..... This is NOT a forsale post, But you can PM me if you want one to your door by tuesday.. I have about 6+ left at my shop.
Click below:http://www.facebook.com/#!/profile.php?id=100000733826447That's me, Actually!! Thanks for the posts mentioning me, Guys :DI just sold a black mint 95-96 2gA talon tsi front bumper for $30 last nite to another guy on the forums. I do not have any talon ones left, But can buy...
That should also be said about the vendors who buy ebay parts or have their parts sent out of the USA to be made for 1/4 of the cost, But when the parts return they throw their marking on it, And some stickers in a box, And sell it for 100% profit.
You have constant bashing on this site anymore because it is filled with young teenage kids who find and buy cheap beat up dsm's and stumble on this site. 10 years ago, It wasen't so bad of a place. Now, It's extremly strict, And filled with teenage kids who ''know it all'' and think they are...
You can piece together a turbo kit for the 4cyl 3g for pennies. The exhaust mani ETC from a 90-99 car all bolt right onto the 3g 4cyl cars. I boosted a 3g YEARS ago (about 8 years ago), And ran 15psi on a 16g without ANY problems.... Stock internals.
One of my cars (06' sti), Made 713awhp and still has all the mirrors, lisence plate, ETC... I have daily driven the car without any problems. It all depends how well your build is, And how much money you have in your bank account for '' just incase something happens'', Time.
I've gone 9.50's @ 145 with an ebay IC kit before.I've gone 10.60's in a dsm with an ebay ic kit before.I've made 600fwhp on an srt4 i built 4 years ago, with an ebay turbo. As with ANYTHING, You'll have some people say good things, And other people say bad things. MOST of the people...
Luke,If you ever need any parts for your car again please let me know. I have at least a dozen+ of each that you were looking for. I would have sold you both for $40 if that.
I also just realized that the ticking you are hearing may be caused from a slightly bent crank angle sensor trigger plate. It will increase with rpm's. You can also get a stethascope and listen to parts in that area to hear exactly where it's coming from, If you cannot see anything out of the...
I believe this may be for a 1g car, But it looks as though you need to remove the other parts around the heater core, In order to pull it out. I've done it a few times but it has been a while. I know in my 06' sti when I were tearing it down , The heater core would not come out until I removed...
Wet-sand them with 2000 Grit sand paper, And re-clear them. If you don't have access to clear and a spray gun, Take them to a shop. It should be cheap if it's not a shop looking to get rich quick. I do this for Cheap to help people once they ''spray paint'' their wheels. They bring them to my...
Are you sure it's not lifter tick?Did you check to make sure you didn't bend the crank angle sensor plate? It would tick if it were slightly bent, And get faster as the rpm's increased. I just replaced one on a customers car at my shop two weeks ago because of it getting slightly bent...
Thank you very much for the reply. As soon as you hear back from the machine shop, Please let me know. I would not have any problems sending you out another head via 2-day mail so you are not held up, If that head turns out that it cannot be resurfaced.Just keep me updated!
Do you have any updates on this? Please let me know if the head is not useable so I can take care of you.I sold him this head. I originally had a head at the garage ready to go, But the inside of the cylinder head was pretty corroded with old oil/stains ETC. I pulled this head off a RUNNING 1g...
It's not very hard if you know your way around these cars. Pull the head, Replace headgasket, Install head, Set timing-belt, Drive.I'm in Hazleton PA, 18201 if you needed someone to do it for ALOT less then you were previously charged... You can bring it to my shop any time. I've been...
Aswell as certain model/package cougars. ROFL Have 6 of them sitting in the basement of my shop, Just because so many people apparently want their car to look like a "turbo car".While you are at it, You could always just bolt up the entire turbo setup from a 90-99 turbo dsm...
