Thank you!! I always had this question in my mind: if the compressor map was independent on the turbine wheel used or if it was matched to a certain turbine wheel. I feel stupid now, but I will refer to the page sent and give it a good long read.So a problem in a setup of small turbine wheel...
This is a street car, it does no racing at all, just random pulls.Flaws I see is the tank size, small difference in height from tank to fuel pump.Considering the g force, when car moves forward, it should not miss any fuel as everything will be thrown out backwards. As in circuit, I can...
So folks, I am upgrading my fuel system. I run a stock fuel tank and have fabricated a sump/custom secondary tank. Not sure it can be considered a sump as it is not directly mounted to the tank, but anyway.I hope it's ok to post this here, I am an ex-dsm owner and still DSMer in my heart...
When I said turbine I was actually referring to the turbine wheel/axis, let's suppose we have a certain compressor wheel paired with a 60mm turbine wheel and the same compressor wheel paired with a 70mm turbine wheel. How does this change in the turbine wheel to a larger or smaller one affect...
Hello there Justin,I've been studying turbos and compressor maps and I have a question that puzzles my mind often. I always go to the compressor map and plot out my application, however, there are combinations that I can't seem to find.So we know the compressor map has the speed rating...
Going to bother a little bit more if that's ok. :D This is all theoretical and by no means I'm looking for a true scientific answer, just some ideas based on your expertise.I've been learning a lot lately about turbos and trying a few things, more specifically focused on the BW S300SX series...
Thanks, I wrongfully associated it with spool considering results witnessed with ETT compressores VS. other regular journal bearing. Now, thanks clarification I did a little research of ETT and found out really the purpose really is to broaden the compressor map.Things start to make sense now...
Awesome, I'll keep you guys posted with the results. Unfortunately since I'm on a 5cylinder platform, I cannot go Twin Scroll, only single scroll. I compared the inlet sizes, huge difference, but hopefully the ETT and BW center section will assist in the spool up.I chose to go this route...
Hi Justin,I've bought myself a Borg Warner S362 ETT FMW turbo. I asked for a T4 .88 A/R housing, however my manifold is a T3. I'm honestly thinking about going T4 instead of keeping the T3 flange and using a BEP housing as all options I've been looking for a larger turbo seem to fit better...
Thanks for the reply guys. I'm going to stay away from the Precision Journal bearing option. I would much rather do a B/W 362 that would probably pick up a lot faster on a A/R .70 housing for the same price anyway.I've sent a PM to Justin to check on the HX40. Think that's the best route as of...
Hi Fellows!Long time since I last posted. I used to own a DSM 2g when lived in U.S. now I am in Brazil and have a forged 5 cylinder 2.0 Fiat Marea Turbo. It made 459whp @ 27psi on Ethanol (92% pure E in Brazil). Didn't go more because lacked injectors...If you are curious videos of the...
he's right about the airflow signal, it is intercepted to be modified (comes from sensor to afc, it is modified by afc and then goes back to ecu). This used to be my car, one time thieves stole my afc and I had to rewire back to stock... it didn't look too pretty down there before, I hope the...
1. Did you turn the boost down yet? If not, then get that allen key, put it into the mbc head and turn it counterclockwise all the way.2. You didn't need to spend anything, you could get away at 17psi and 0 correction with the s-afc. That's what I have told you and what FP told you. I can...
Kevin, I am glad you think that way, you're a smart guy and I totally agree with your position. Sure you can do all the mods and perform all the work on your car, everyone in here can, but to what point is that really worth it?I mean, I got to work and go to school and I drive my car to both...
Kevin, you should dial the boost controller all the way back until you get your injectors in. If this is done properly you should be reaching 17psi all across the board. To ensure safety, it is also a good idea to set your AFC all to 0 as you have more air going in now than before you don't want...
Cool beans. It may just be me who has been in love with electronic boost controllers, especially the fancy ones where you can set boost by RPM, which IMO are a great tool for fwd cars to launch. However, I had the impression that when I ran the car with c-16 on max boost I did have good boost to...
Hey Kevin, good to see you are still around. It is a looooot of info you have to go through to get a good understanding about cars and engines, I can really understand your position. I had 2 more tuned cars after the DSM, done very different types of mods and I know there is still a lot more...
I am the previous owner of that car, and I can assure you 100% that what he has on IS a BIG28, not a T-28. You can call AGP Turbo and ask them the sale of a t-28 with a t-25 core refund for Ricardo Naud a few years back, I am sure they will confirm you.I know the source of power loss in this...
Hello !Well, I was the previous owner of the car in question as some might not know. When I dynoed the car last time I didn't have AFC and my a/f ratio was below 10.0. My boost was at 15 psi, it still put down 230whp, which is more than what you have now. Very weird. My opinion :1...
It's good that some people want to take action, but sad that most have no understanding of business. You people think you know what makes car companies successful ? From what I can read, most got no clue of how large automobile organizations work, what are the market demands, etc. So why suggest...
$650 ? Darm, it's not that much of a difference you must be buying turbos somewhere else :D anyway I said in the begining that i am building a 1g so no DSMLink for me and honestly if I were to do standalone i'd go with haltech since dsmlink was not designed for a 1g...
Aslan, right now I am thinking that what induced his comment was a t-28 which obviously is a sucky turbo. It might just have been a generalization when he might actually wanted to refer to the t-28 not all Garrett turbos...Anyway, after this talk I decided that and the 20g might be a great...
When we were at the dyno day and Agim put down only 207 with the t-28 we asked Garry why was it like that, he then said something about the way of flow in a Garrett turbo and basically told us he preferred to stick w/ Mitsubishi turbos.
I don't think the fuel is 95RON but I am calling the company to find out. Shell does sell lower octanage gas (91 octane) which should be ok in case the 95 octane one is this 95RON crap you talk about. I think it's not though...I know the 50 trim will support more power, but I wonder if it's...
I am looking into building a 1g and I'm trying to decide between a TD06H 20g or a Full Garrett "ballistic" setup with a 50 trim.My original intention was a TD06H 20g but since AGP and TRE are selling kits which are very affordable I am starting to become interested in a full garrett setup...
ok, i see. Thanks! I dynoed 230hp/254tq. Had to turn the boost up coz it was running rich as hell... after turning up still rich. Then I went to the street on that setting and fuel cut, but it's only coz a stupid spike. I get 21psi briefly then it drops. I need ebc i guess :|
Just wondering when does fuel cut come in, is it if injectors reach over 100% or ...? I dynoed today and its running rich. I got under 10.0 a/f w/ the walbro 255 and stock injectors. Turned the boost up to compensate... fuel cut. Wondering what duty cycle I get fuel cut. Anyone?
Here's the story. I sold the car, the guy is coming to pick it up monday. I'm leaving to Brazil and this is the last weekend with my car. I got about 3-4 gallons of C-16 in a can I have never used. Dyno day is tomorrow (Sat) and I have never dynoed my car before. I want, however, to put down...
Well, it's a long story but I had to sell my DSM. Basically the story is I'm going back to my home country. I just received e-mail from the buyer saying he wants me to fax the invoice to the bank. I think this is finally it, he says he wants to come pick it up on Saturday. I'm about to cry :cry...
There is no actual book called "This is what a DSM is" released by Mitsubishi or Chrysler, so DSM is whatever the #### you think it is.Majority thinks it's Eclipse, Talons and Lasers. Want to think differently ? No problem. You can argue by centuries but it's a waste of time.
Nice try to sell car on ebay ? Who would actually buy my car from DSMTuners, if anyone is here it most likely already has a DSM, why would they buy mine ? I was just showing my car. Here is the url again, since the mods removed :http://www.eclipseturbo.com
I would say the whole 7bolt is poorly designed, not just the bearings, or else people would just replace the thrust bearings instead of the whole block. And yes, MT just finishes off the poor job mitsubishi did.
