I've been saying this for months on here now, and people were saying I was crazy and a liar. The T/C Cobalt is simply an unbelievably fantastic car. When I told someone in a thread a while back that it would put a new M3 to shame, everyone was up in arms.
Ouch - that's one of the alignment holes too with the dowel circular. You could talk to a machine shop and see if any would be willing to weld the ear back on. Personally, I'd scrap the block.
Not at all, as theft isn't classified as a disturbance against the public peace for law enforcement purposes. This would be inciting a riot, display of a weapon, disorderly conduct or the like.
I couldn't agree more. We have people at work today that are clearly ill - it shows the lack of respect they have for this extremely virulent strain of influenza. By coming into work they are putting everyone at risk of getting ill, which is particularly concerning for those that work here...
Evo_This, you can bet I wouldn't sit by and watch my car get broke into. However, I would respond with an appropriate amount of force. Most of the time, just yelling at them would stop them dead in their tracks and send them on their merry way. However, if at that point they decided to...
As I stated in my reply above, he is from Texas, which does stipulate that it has to be a felony for a citizen's arrest.Texas Code of Criminal Procedure
Art. 14.01. [212] [259] [247] OFFENSE WITHIN VIEW.
(a) A peace officer or any other person, may, without a warrant,
arrest an offender when...
I agree - it is our right to protect ourselves. In fact, I have a CCW lifetime permit, so I do not 'sit and hide'. Do not mistake my constraint for feebleness, but rather a firm understanding of what a responsible firearm carrier should practice. However, his life was never in danger. In...
I had it, and I have to say it was very nasty. I caught it early last month, and within 2 days I had Bronchitis. I went into the doc and they confirmed it was H1N1.I recommend everyone in here get vaccinated that hasn't already caught it - it will save you a lot of trouble.
Evo_This - you are either lying through your teeth, or you have absolutely no business owning a firearm. They should have hauled your ass to jail for unlawful detainment and unlawful display of a firearm. It's people like you that give firearm owners like me a bad name.Take the police's...
It's that sad excuse for an oil cooler that came on your car. The center bolt was probably loose and caused the sandwich seal to blow out - the design of it is absolute garbage. Replace it with a reliable air/oil cooler and you won't have that issue anymore.
The OP stated no such thing. The word 'look', or anything indicating appearance, is not in any of the OP's post. Perhaps he meant looks, in which case he should define which aspect he is talking about. Otherwise, myself and others are going to think he's referring to the chassis, motor...
Proven? I suppose you haven't kept up with Ford for the last 8 or 9 years. They are currently one of the top rated marques in reliability. In fact, they overtook Toyopet and Lexus in some categories. Admittedly, their quality was lower than they would have liked in the early 90's. Nowadays...
I can tell you from experience, it's a BEAR finding hub kits for 1G's. I've been looking for one for a while now with new lugs and a new bearing. I hope it's easier for you 2G guys.
They are - the next version of the Focus here is the same as the Euro Focus. The earlier hatch (ZX3, ZX4) versions were almost identical to the Euro Focus's too up until around 2003-2004 I believe. The only difference was a softer suspension and federalized bumpers. On the early Focus's you...
Thicker oil is typically recommended when bearings are worn down and your oil pressure is low. At that point, your motor should be rebuilt anyways. At 128K miles, your bearings and such should still be pretty close to factory specs , as long as it's been properly maintained throughout it's life.
If you change it every 3,000 miles, it doesn't matter what oil you use - they'll all lubricate your engine. All oil is rated by the API that's for sale at a retail store - there's no such thing as 'crap' oil anymore because of this. There are oils that have higher flash points and may have a...
I kid you not, I do this at least twice a year, and cross-country at that. Back in March when I bought this car I got pulled over once on it's 700 mile maiden voyage. I might add, that was the first time I'd ever been pulled over without plates after doing this for literally years. The guy...
I had the exact same thing happen on my first DSM years ago. Drove 30 miles and it felt funny... got to work and noticed I only had one lug nut left on. I can tell you with 100% certainty that they were all torqued down good.
Maybe I'll get some work done at work while the site's down. Nah, probably not.Who knows, maybe Ludachris will make a mandatory spellchecker integrated into the posting option.
Yes, you really want a heat shield. It'll help keep your radiator cooler. I'm having a hard time understanding what you want with the second part - they take grammar pretty seriously here.
That's not too bad, but where's the dipstick and the heat shield for the manifold?I'd do a thorough inspection on it, including compression and checking of the fluids etc.. If everything checks out, I think I'd go for it.
Precisely. The 4g63 is a primitive power plant. It's great at making power, but it's unrefined. The 2jz is a bulletproof engine. I mean seriously people... there's 1500hp and 1800hp kits for these things. Can't people respect engines here that aren't made by Mitsubishi? :banghead:Cut...
I can't wait to see if you pull this off... the 2jz is an incredible engine, I'd definitely agree with you that it's one of the best Japanese motors out there for making big power. The only other motor from Toyopet that I like better is the Formula Atlantic 3sgte.I'm sure with enough...
The 1G isn't a very competitive chassis, IMHO... you can put some work into it and make it a decent handling vehicle. I'd have to agree with the person above that mentioned E30's, however I'd point you towards a '91 318iS. It weights considerably less than the 325iS and can be made to be...
No need to guess... it doesn't matter. I am running one and it precisely matched my old OEM one, not that I'd care either way. Aftermarket parts are just fine... people blow timing belts because they don't install them properly, fluid contamination, or because they failed to replace wear...
If they backed it out while parked in 1st, they probably rotated the engine backwards too. You need to take it to the dealer and get an estimate for all the damage done. Afterwards, present it to the towing company. Tell them they either pay the bill to repair it or you'll take them to small...
Where's your PCV valve? Also, what kind of provision do you have in place to introduce fresh air into the crankcase? I only see the one line coming off the valve cover.
I'd tend to agree... the 2G's do look a little effeminate to me. Too curvaceous and the rear has a wide ass. The 1G's look manlier to me. Hence why I only buy 1G's - the 2G's crimp my style.
Hack the sucker off. I won't get into a discussion about the environmental consequences because it would just cause a ruckus in here. If you have emissions where you live just do what I do - license your car in a state without emissions.
I think it's hillarious that this is how people think g@y 'spelling on purpose - filtered' people act. It's OK Lofty. I think you'll really enjoy those HID's. They are fantastic in the rain.
