Just orderd my fuellab FPR kit

I got mine from MAPerformance.com. Mounted on a 1G on the throttle cable box with a 90* elbow for the pressure gauge. Bought about $600 worth of parts at the same time so I paid less than $200 for mine (with the install kit and gauge). Extremely happy with it. I recommend getting a good dremel...

Sacramento Tuners Meet - March 28th

Got the knock to go down a little but I'm still having issues. Now it's knocking in second gear. Had one pull where it spiked to 14-15 degs. Wondering how much of this might be phantom knock.

    Throttle Body Question

The NT TB wasn't designed for turbo models. However have Throttlebodys.com do a rebuild on it and they will put in the necessary upgraded parts so it will last on your GST. The NT can not be ported.

6bolt swap info (search not working?)

I did a 6 bolt swap in my '93 and it's as simple as just swapping the block. Use your current 1g head. You don't need to swap it to the '90. The 1g 7bolt head and 2g 7 bolt head are nothing alike. You still have the large intake ports. You don't need to swap OFH either if you don't want to. Your...

    NorCal hobbies thread

The AR-15 and SKS are the two styles all the magazines rave about and the aftermarket for them is awesome. With all the new advances in modern weaponry and ballistics the old tales about the M-16 and the inaccuracy of the .223 are all but forgotten. I personally prefer Stag Arms or Rock River...

    Cooling problem

Replace the head gasket. Also, factory head bolts need to be replaced every time you remove the head; they're torque yield. Since the head is off you should replace the pos head bolts with some ARP's.

    Sac raceway class input wanted-

I'm interested but i am having to many problems with the car. I was out there at CMI today and there were more than 8 AWD's out there. There were 2 GVR4's, ~6 Evo's, ~4 STI's and ~8 DSM's. All in all it was a great day out there. Wish Ted could have run a 10 but he did good anyway. Can't wait to...

    DSM Meet - Sac - December 6th

I adjust the location based on what the guys at the meet would like and so far Fry's has been the unanimous decision. I think i blew my tranny up today!

You might have broken the 3-4 shift rail. Same thing happened in my Toyota. When I pulled it apart I found the rail snapped in two. If the cables, and clutch assembly are still in good order then it's either a fork or rail.

    rebuilding motor in 1g...

The S258 (part number 200100-3 ExtremePSI.com) with a .70 or .76 hot side or the 30R with a large A/R hotside would give you the lag you want for launch. The 30R, if you went BB, with a .63 A/R would work also.Check out this thread (dsmtuners.com) for info on the FP Red. This guy is also a...

    rebuilding motor in 1g...

You should look at a different turbo. The 6162 is a bit much for your stated goals. With your stated goal of around 400whp with the recommended 2.0L you would enjoy the performance of quicker spooling turbo more than the 6162.I would recommend taking a look at one of these turbo's...

My Journey to a Quiet 3in Exhaust (Vids + Pics)

After having my full turbo-back custom built I'll never buy a production exhaust. It's so much easier to get exactly what you want out of an exhaust. Of course I'm not talking about having midas build you an exhaust. Have a reputable performance shop do it. To many production exhausts have...

changing an AWD transmission to a FWD transmission

It's more work than it is worth. Find a shop that is willing to trade one of the AWD tranny's and $100 for a FWD tranny. You'd have to swap the cases and eliminate the center diff. If you are willing to do this then you might as well pick up a FWD tranny from a scrap yard and rebuild it.

The Official "What Should I Spend Money On?" Thread [Merged 10-6]

For reliability sake do the 6 Bolt block with your 2g head. While the head is off might as well have it reconditioned and ported.+1 for DSMLink and a wideband. A good tune will net you some good power.

idle problem fixed, electrical problems now?

Sounds like your timing is off at the low rpm. If you don't have a datalogger to verify your timing then just bump up the idle a little. I run mine around 950 warm.

Sac Raceway Oct. 18th (Test n' Tune)

ApexVIII You should be in the 12's with the mods you have. My car ran a 13.6 on the 14b with the boost at 17psi and a 3" exhaust the rest of the car was stock.

    what to tune with

The DSMLink will give a broader range of tuning than the SAFC. I'd go with the DSMLink, than your not spending money twice. Turbo with No Creep

I upgraded my stock 14b to a 16G with ported 2G mani and turbine housing running 15psi and have no creep. The only fuel upgrade is a 255lph pump and an AFPR. If you do go with a 16G either go with a external WG or an O2 housing with a WG dump. Should have no creep at 15psi.

Advice on next mods on my 1G!!!

+1 on the exhaust. I'd also upgrade to the SMIM first. Run proper cams for the rpm range you want to run at. Wait on the springs and retainers until you get new cams. Mights as well do them all at once since the valve cover is off.

I have all but the large center honeycomb removed from my MAS and it idles a little rough at times. If you removed the large center honeycomb then you need to put it back.I also found that backing out the tps a little helped with the rough idle.If it's to annoying then just get a GM MAF...
