  5. [RESOLVED] Ignition Switch Replacement [Merged 9-9] lock removing replace replacing

I'm not sure what you're referring to... I'm talking about the big metal assembly that has the key cylinder and steering wheel lock in it, around the steering column. Are you trying to remove just the cylinder in which the key is put into?
  6. [RESOLVED] Ignition Switch Replacement [Merged 9-9] lock removing replace replacing

I had my drivers side key cylinder stolen a while back, so I replaced all the locks in my car fearing that the thief would make a copy of my key. I called my local Mitsubishi recycler, and this is what they told me to do, it works great:If you are trying to remove the ignition tumbler that...
  7. EVO III 16g rebuild?

That's a really good idea, thanks.BTW, is it normal for oil to leak out the turbine housing when the turbo is laying on its side?If not, should a rebuild kit be enough to fix it?
  8. EVO III 16g rebuild?

Okay, thanks for all the info. I think I'm going to rebuild it and just run it how it is because I do not have the time or funds right now, I need this thing running. Hopefully it will last a little while, even with a little excessive shaft play.
  9. EVO III 16g rebuild?

is it so bad its not worth rebuilding? i really do not want to buy a turbine wheel....
  10. EVO III 16g rebuild?

Is this wear normal on the shaft?(Evo 3 16g)Sorry for the slightly out of focus pictures, it's the best I could do.I can feel the grooves with my fingernail, but they don't catch or anything.Apparently, according to the seller, this turbo had 2k miles on it... which I'm not...
  11. Evo X front bumper on 2g

Looks like it wont look to hot in my opinion so far, but I've been surprised before.Good luck with it and I hope that YOU are happy with it in the end. It's definitely a bold undertaking.
  12. Has anyone fit a 1g FMIC on a 2g?

well the reason I ask is because the 1g FMIC has its core outlets on the top of the endtanks, facing the engine, while their 2g kit has the pass side like that, but the driver's side outlet just sticks out to the side on the bottom of the endtank. It seems that it can work, I guess I'll see and...
  13. Has anyone fit a 1g FMIC on a 2g?

I found a good deal on a 1G DEJON FMIC, I was thinking of trying to fit it onto my 2g. Has anyone attempted this before, doesn't need to be a DEJON FMIC, just any FMIC.thanks
  14. The Official "What's this DSM worth?" Thread

Personally I think it is worth roughly $4k assuming it has had 0 accidents and no major rust. The engine does sound like its a ticking time bomb (cause it has so many miles), but since it has good compression and new timing components, it should last you a while longer. How's the condition of...
  15. [RESOLVED] A/C clutch not engaging

Its really easy to locate. It on the bottom of the blower behind the glove box. It has two plugs going to it, it says "AUTO COMP CONTROLLER" on it. You don't even have to remove anything to see it.
  16. [RESOLVED] A/C clutch not engaging

Yeah, I went to the pick n pull, and found no 2g DSMs :(. BUT I found an identical ACCU from a Galant, a similar one from another galant, and another similar one from a dodge stealth. I tried the one thats identical, and CLICK the A/c worked :). Then I tried the other two, and to my surprise...
  17. [RESOLVED] A/C clutch not engaging

Yeah, I've been following a similar document thats on the DSM service manual CD. I think I'm going to have to recheck everything and trace each wire... I wish I did this in the winter, its so hot out, haha
  18. [RESOLVED] A/C clutch not engaging

I believe that 95's have a different ACCU than other years. Our setup is similar to the NT's where the ACCU is on the bottom of the blower, where as the newer cars have the ACCU built into the FIN temp sensor connector. Any one with a 95 willing to confirm this? Thanks
  19. [RESOLVED] A/C clutch not engaging

Thanks, I'll try that in a little bit.In the mean time, I just remembered I missed something. Right behind the glove box, I have two connectors, one blue, one black. The blue one is not connected, the black one is connected to the FIN temp sensor. Any one know what the blue connector is for...
  20. [RESOLVED] A/C clutch not engaging

Hello fellow DSMers.I am having a problem with my air conditioner clutch engaging. It used to work fine, then after my 6 bolt swap it seemed to cycle for long periods of time ( on for 2 minutes, off for 15, then repeats ).Things I have done/observed: Checked the system charge, its fully...
  21. Lower timing cover seal

Im putting on the lower timing belt cover and the stupid rubber seal that runs around the edge does not want to stay put.Is it ok to install without the seal?It seems to me that if its so loose its more of a danger to get caught in the timing belt.thanks
  22. Overheating fix.

Looks good.Another option that I heard works pretty well on some cars, I dont know about ours, is to add a bunch of washers at the hood hinges raising the rear of the hood and allowing hot air to escape. Maybe that and this mod in combination would work even better. Can't help with the clear...
  23. Installing alarm, tunk trigger same as door trigger?

Hi,I'm in the process of installing a viper 5901 alarm on my 1995 eclipse GSX. Its my first time doing such an install, and I found a reference for the wiring, and the part that concerns me at the moment is as follows:Door Trigger red/green - driver kick, harness to rear Notes: To...

  25. Buzzing sound from firewall side of engine, please help

I have a 6 bolt motor in a 2g with a rebuilt bottom end and BSE kit. The engine, when revved over 3k rpm, will have a buzzing sound come from the firewall side of the engine. I have no idea what it could be. It gets faster the higher the revs. I do not know what to think of it.Any ideas...

  27. High EGT with 2.3

  28. Are there any online sites that have brake rotor dimensions.

cool, thanks for the help guys. The rx8 rotors seem like a good fit, and they have a 67.1mm center bore. I wonder how hard if would be to bolt up the stock rx8 calipers. It should just require a bracket.
  29. Are there any online sites that have brake rotor dimensions.

I wanted to try and see if rx8 rotors might fit on the 2g eclipse but I want to know the dimensions of the rotor. Does anyone know? They are pretty big and the factory rx8 wheels have a 50mm offset which is close to the 2g 46mm. Also the bolt pattern is 5x114.3. Any ideas? I just want to see...
