If you can dive it in a circle in a parking lot and have a friend watch your wheels it should help clarify it. Go in a circle and have someone see if the outside rear wheel is dragging. Then have them check and see if the front outside wheel is dragging. If its just the outside rear and the...
So it goes fine in a straight line but when turning the rear wheels drag/lock up, am I correct on that? Ok do the front wheels lock up/drag at all? If they dont it sounds like the dif in the rear end is shot. The carrier, ring, and pinion sound fine but it sounds like the spider gears are...
Yes I know that the stock rods and pistons are directional, but as for eagle I'm not sure, but if the stock ones are the aftermarket ones should be the same way. Do you have any documentation that came with these rods? If so your answer should be in there.
Yeah man it would just be a lot easier to buy an AWD and just drop you GST motor into it if you want to keep your motor, than to convert your GST to AWD. But thats just my opinion. Road Race Engineering did the conversion once and vowed never to do it again, and those guys are DSM pro's...
The SRS control unit needs to be reset. By taking the bag out you broke the circut, and until the control unit is reset the SRS system WILL NOT work because it thinks the bags are gone or depolyed. Take it to a dealership and they can do it.
Ok I'll make this real simple, THE CAR IS FINE. Everything you described is completly normal with the exception of the wire on the dip stick, never seen anyone do that. But its fine. First off it's impossible to tell if there is blow by by taking off the oil cap and feeling for air. Its just...
If its making a high piched whine when you put it in gear it most likely the Transmission filter in the pan that is clogged. Espically in an older car that filter has a teandecy to get forgotten about, and never get changed. If the filter is colgged then its restricting the pumps flow, and can...
Go to a Transmission shop and have them do a complete flush, preferably with a BG machine(that thing will remove all the flud in the trans). If the proble still persists then the problem is internal, if it goes away then the fluid was just worn out. Don't just add some heavier fluid to what...
Sounds like a stuck check ball in the valve body, either that or the solenoids could be bad, or the TCU may have take a dump. Also how much fluid did you add because over filling can cause the same thing. And dose it do it when it cold, hot, or all the time. Either way let me know, and I...
Well if you are talking about the two bolts that are under the end cover (the cover that sits against the passenger side sub frame rail), then yeah they could do it since it is reverse gear. But those bolts are pinched on and for them to come loose, either the pinch is loose, the bolt is...
No need to, the last of the three shops they previous owner took the car to thought the same thing and replaced it, and I belive him since I drink with the mechanic that did the work on the weekends. I have the receipt to prove it. Thanks anyways. Thanks I'll try that tommorow. That was...
OK I don't want to get off topic here and start discussing my financial situation, and why I don't have $50 to get a logger. Once again I spent Five Thousand dollars on tools last month and barely have enough to pay this months bills, let alone get a logger for my winter car.I'll probally...
Thanks for the info its a start but I really need to tune the car. I'll change the map and take it from there. But as for the logger, its kind of out of the question moment, due to a couple of facts, first off it needs both rear pads an rotors replaced desperatly, and secondly I just purchased...
Ok heres whats going on, my car is a 91 Talon AWD AUTOMATIC (just putting that out there so I don't get 5 speed type responses.). Got the car real cheap because the previous owner, had it at 3 shops and they couldn't figure out why the car was running so rich. Also since its an auto I have no...
My opinion there a wast of money, unless your car is modded with aftermarket camshafts, or unless you do all your tuning on a dyno. Other than that there are better things to spend your money on.
That is not an EVO 3 motor, its a JDM Galant VR-4 motor with a big 16g and the yellow top injectors are 510cc vs. the standard 450cc injectors. Other than that its no diffrent than a USDM 4g63. I had the same motor once and thought the same thing, untill someone on here corrected me. Sorry to...
If you are looking for a scope, I would suggest the Snap-On Vantage II meter. Is Snap-On and your mostly paying for the name but it works great. Its the only Snap-On tool that I have. It goes for about $400-$600 dollars off the truck. It samples I belive don't quote me on this I'm gessing...
SRT4=2.4l motor 420A=2.0l motor Once again they are completly diffrent. The 2gnt has nothing in common with the SRT4 motor wise other than they are built by Chrysler. If you want to use Neon parts find one from 95-99 those parts should match right up.
That is actually how you are supposed to check for leaks in the evap system. Other than a leak check the following: 1. Gas cap is not sealing properly (usual culprit of an evap code) 2. evap solenoid on top of charcol canister inop 3. Charcol canister filled with liquid gas (probally from...
Chrysler builds the worst transmissions of the Big 3 American Manufactures. Its a well documented fact, after the Torque Glide 400 went away in the 70's they started building crap. But to answer your question no it would not work, diffrent bolt pattern, diffrent starter placement, diffrent...
Walboro fuel pumps are not vehicle specific. I could take the one out of my talon and it would fit in my mustang if I so wanted to do that. Also as for the exhaust manifold I don't know about fitment issues, but it looks like Stevie Wonder did the welding on that thing. I can't tell 100% if...
Ok here's the deal I picked up and 91 AWD Talon cheap from a garage because the owner and mechanic could not figure out why the car was running so rich. So I brought it home and started looking at it and noticed that the fuel injectors were pink in color and not the normal blue 450cc injectors...
Well if you want save it and email it to me. I don't have a clue when it comes to things like editing pics. I just barely have the internet down (me and computers don't exactly get along).
Still sounds like a wheel bearing. If not start checking behind the wheel and looking for something wrong. Other than that do you have stainless brake lines? If so check them, other than that my bet is on a frozen wheel bearing.
Sorry I am going by the OEM prices where I work at. When it come to something that could potentially save my life I would not want to go the generic route to save a few bucks. Besides if its a vehicle defect, which it sounds like his problem is, the manufacture is required by fedral law to...
Like I said before check the coolant temp sensor, also look into the inlet air temp sensor which is part of the MAF. I sounds to me that one of the two is bad and making the ECM think that either the air temp is colder than it is ore the engine is colder than it is, and making it run excessivly...
Hook a multi meter up in line with the negative batter cable, and put it on AMPS. Doing that will tell you if you have a parasitic draw on the battery.
The oil squirters help cool the pistons in a boosted engine because of the higher than normal combustion temperatuers. I myself wouldn't run a turbo motor without them. Just keep looking for a turbo block.
The correct way to repair a rust spot is to completly cut it out, or it will start to rust again. Get a MIG welder and build up a bead till the hole is completly filled in with welding bead. Then sand the bead flat and smooth with the rest of the body panel. Primer and paint the thing. Using...
Ummmm yeah where I work. Thats why usually if your in an accident and the bags deploy, its almost gaurenteed that your car is toatled. But what do I know I just work in a dealership.
Even with the key off the SRS system is still armed. The only way to trigger it is for one of the discrimnating sensors to activate the signal to the SRS controler and complete the circut. What you are describing should be brought to Mitsu and let them deal with it, sounds like a vehicle...
Check the tierod ends and see if they are loose in the control arms. I mean a little slop without moving the control arms is bad, they should be tight with no movement.
On an OBDII vehicle (which you have), the post cat o2 sensor is only used to tell the PCM if the cat is functioning properly, tell it of excess hydrocarbons exiting the tail pipe. It has nothing to do with fuel trims. The o2 sensor right after the turbo is the one that controls fuel trims...
Its running too rich. Try and lean it out, and see how it responds. The only other thing that could cause that is a bad coolat temp sensor so the PCM thinks the engine is cold all the time and adds fuel to the engine thinking its cold when its really not. Look into the coolant temp sensor and...
Belive what you want but the cylinders are SEALED, there is no way to feel that through the oil fill cap. Anyways not to get off topic, lets see how the plug wires work out for your misfire problem.
That is exactly what the did, with the threat of terroism closer to us now the mandated that everyone get those plates so the stand out less. A big USA on your plate just says "Hey this car is owned by and American, blow me up and kill them"
First off you are not going to see blow by simply by looking in the oil fill port, unless you have x-ray vision and can see into the cylinder. Blow by is where fuel and oil find a way around the piston rings, and fuel either goes to the pan or oil get burned in the cylinder, thats blow by...
