So my #1 rod bearing decided to also slim down for the new year. Anywho, I checked my slugs they definitely show heat spots & where in the verge of burning through. Kinda hard to get a good pic, but the sharp edge is a little warped.

Adam's (black_gst) turbo guy did the machining. Don't remember numbers, but the price was reasonable. I purchased the turbo from JusMX141. Mine came with the 8 blade 60mm version.

Vacuum pump is the best choice overall. What helped me tremendously was lowering timing when stalling up & this is on an H1E (HX40).

It's hard to tell until you're in the car actually testing. I can tell you from my personal experience that holding timing in the mid teens gave me a couple more psi & helped tremendously with holding the brakes vs. more more timing (low 20's). I also keep a/f's conservative, roaming around...

Mid 20's for timing & low to mid 10 a/f worked for me. It was trial & error, though. Your best bet is to adjust in small increments.
