Just wanting a wrecked car that I can use for my turbo mighty max project. I'd prefer if engine was still good, but I can rebuild if I have to. The closer to SD and the cheaper, the better!!! Thanks!!
Too bad you aren't interested in an auto. I am going to Casper in 2 weeks and I just built a very nice 91 awd Eclipse. Car has 90k miles, built it with cometic hg, arp studs, rebuilt and ported 14b, and put in a new battery and downpipe, its also getting 4g Eclipse 18" rims with new tires...
There is a video floating around youtube of me winter drifting my old talon. I tried getting still shots from the video and they were super cool but horrible photo quality :(
Exhaust is off. I assume the car has been driven on the street, but honestly I don't know any history, I just rescued it from the junkyard is all.Damn. So its basically as extensive as putting a clutch in a manual. I'm an auto newb.
Lol. So thats really the only option huh? Its got fluid in it and the fluid is not burned looking and it doesn't smell burned... But I suppose anything is possible. I just was hoping some magic DSM guru fairy would say something was unplugged or maybe I just need a fluid change lol. I did not...
Backstory:91 gsx with 90k miles I picked up at the junkyard for $500 cause I couldn't stand to see this nice of a car go to waste. It has been sitting about a year. It jumped timing. I did the timing and rebuilt the head, even went so far as to rebuild the turbo and install ARP headstuds...
Does it turn over really hard? My experience tells me you definitely have bent valves, but I've been wrong before. Generally if its off that far, there will be some bendage and even valves kissing pistons. I would definitely pull things apart and do it right the first time. But I find it...
I've got a problem...91 mm with the 2.4... my dad drives it when I'm not around, so I don't know what happened, but I get home, the cel is on. Says there is a misfire on #4, and its running a little funky. Spark was good, wiring good, thought I'd replace #4 injector. Well, I messed up and...
I have a lifted 03 f250 with eh dreaded 6.0... egr, studs, exhaust, custom tune, etc etc, its never given me any fits, just rolled over 226k a few weeks ago. I'm too lazy to add a pic right now.
I know that awd dyno's in my area are fairly rare as it is, but I'm looking to take the car to a place that has had some experience with dsms and dsmlink. They are basically going to have to tune for me because I don't know what I'm doing. Can anyone recommend a shop around SD thats good...
Have not checked cam sensor, but I will. I still haven't figured this out.*just swapped cam sensor and tps sensor, no change. Still fires quickly, revs to 2500, then stalls. No change whether I give it gas or don't. This car can frustrate me so badly sometimes.....
Well I don't think its the TPS, cause I switched tb's and the problem remained the same. I will try cleaning my maf again, but I don't think that is it. I don't have an extra ECU, but it was just gone through a couple hundred miles ago with new capacitors put in.Any other suggestions? It...
The car had been running well, but I went to start it one night and it would start, but then the wideband would go from 12.5 to max lean in a second and the car would stall out. I replaced the fuel strainer and fuel filter, even drained the fuel and replaced it. After that it would start and...
Yeah, I don't know if its Walbro specific, and what the part number would be, or if I can just go out and get a stock replacement one, as if I still had a stock pump.
Long story short I ended up getting hydraulic fluid and water in my gas tank and I am draining the fuel, as well as replacing the filter and strainer on the pump.I have a walbro 255, I searched and can't seem to find the part # for my strainer, or a part number on the fuel pump. It is an...
Honestly, you don't have a collector car. So storing it won't make the value go up, but you would probably be able to get back out of it what you paid for it. If you have to pay a storage fee, I would not do it. If you can store it for free, then its up to you. You wouldn't have to worry...
I can't remember cause its been so long ago, but I would always either hack the can or somehow just make it so the 3 clips just clipped right on to the filter. Search 1g cold air intake, and you will probably find someone who has done the same thing.
If you want to get rid of the abs lines, you have to get a non abs proportioning valve and non abs brake lines, or just get the valve and bend your own lines.
I have a couple things to sell that I don't really want to ship, so maybe someone local will see this.I have 3 good stock swirlie rims if anyone wants those...I also have a tranny out of a 91 fwd turbo, has 130k miles on it but ran just fine up until the engine blew. Not sure what to ask...
WOW, thank you for all that info. I have replaced the center diff with the tranny still in the car, but I managed to screw that up because it pops out of reverse now. But that being said, since I have to remove the tranny to replace this front diff, I will be able to do a better job. Very...
I am needing to tear apart a 2g awd tranny due to a blown front diff.I have a 1g fwd turbo tranny lying around, and was wondering what all parts I can rob off it to put in the awd tranny. Is there any possible way the front diff from the fwd tranny will work in the awd? Are the gear hubs...
Needs a tranny. The idiot that owned it before me must have redline launched it alot, he broke the front and center diff. Has a welded center diff in it now because I didn't realize the front diff was broken also, so it drives in RWD as it is.
Also needs a rear wheel bearing put on, I bought...
I don't even drive mine anymore, I live 75 miles from premium fuel, its not working so well bucketing fuel in jugs, I'm getting alot of dirt and water in the fuel and making the car run like crap.Anyone want a 95 AWD Talon? Trade for something that doesn't require premium fuel...
When you say it was driving 3 days ago, what does that mean? Have you modded it or messed with it in any way recently? Backfiring is caused when unburnt fuel ignites in the exhaust, were you pumping the gas pedal when you were trying to start it? If you were, you probably fuel fouled your...
Could the loud bang have been a backfire? Sounds like your getting too much fuel, not enough fuel, or you have a bad o2 sensor, plug wire, spark plugs, EGR valve, coil pack, etc. What you should do is pull the plugs and see what color they are. The healthy plug color would be a nice golden...
Just for kicks, check out under your dash where the master cylinder goes into the car, and make sure there isn't fluid leaking out from the master cylinder anywhere. Also pull the boot back on the slave cylinder and see if there is any fluid inside the boot. The fact that the clutch pedal went...
I am sure that is aluminum and I don't think you are going to want to do any welding on it. I wonder if you could get some high pressure fuel line and about 4 clamps and put the line in between the break, with 2 clamps on each side. I don't know if it would work, but thats a cheap alternative...
The only automatic car I've ever had was an old Ford LTD (your first car isn't supposed to be a nice one, right?) It had a tranny fluid leak, and every time the fluid got really low, it would be like it was in neutral, thats how I knew when to add fluid. Maybe his fluid is so old and burnt...
Your clutch is engaging all the way up because it is not properly adjusted. There is an adjustment on the master cylinder, you will have to be upside down with your feet on your seat and your head resting against the brake pedal to see it. I believe it is a 12mm bolt that you loosen, then you...
You know, I've messed with the BISS and it doesn't change hardly at all. Weird. I don't have DSMlink, I am running keydiver chip with Maft Pro (if I had to do all over again, DEFINITELY would have just went with link) Anyways... I do need to verify base timing, but I don't know if that should...
Stock base is 5 degrees. Another thing I've heard of is the BISS o ring leaking, an easy way to tell would be to put soapy water (or spit) in the hole and look for bubbles. While your at it look for other leaks, could be a boost leak but I doubt it.
All my mods are in my profile. First off, I have a horrible idle that I haven't been able to diagnose yet. I have to give it a little gas when it first starts to keep it from stalling out, and then it will idle at 700 or so until it warms up, then it will bounce all over the place for a while...
The symptoms it has when revved sound similar to a bov being vented to the atmosphere, so check to see if that could cause problems. From what I have heard, the 272 cams should cause a very light lope in the idle. The cam sensor may need adjusted, that could easily cause a funky idle if it is...
I looked at your mods and it says your maf is hacked. Did you remove both honeycombs, or just the unmetered one? If you cut too much or removed both honeycombs, it can cause a number of problems, including rough idle, dying at idle, rich or lean conditions.
I doubt there was a block heater ever made that was specific to a 420a. That being said, there are tons of universal block heaters you can buy just about anywhere. You can get ones that are magnetic and stick you your oil pan or block. I believe there are heaters that go in the place of your...
I couldn't open the video. But if its just one click as you are trying to start it, and all your accessories still have power, then your starter is bad or not getting power. Try hitting the starter and seeing if that helps it. Check your positive cable for corrosion.
