1G A little help with adding sensors to ecmlink

Hey all, its been a long time since I've posted anything and am in need of some clarification on wiring in some sensors as I'm currently working on my harness.I am going to wire in a wideband o2 and a fuel pressure sensor. I am not running the factory o2 and will use NBsim. So that leaves...

Evo 8 retainers on BC springs????

Hey guys, working on getting my head back on after a stupid mistake on my part.Anyways, I have evo 8 springs and retainers. I had to remove them to replace valves. I figured, with all the iffyness about them, I'd grab a set of BC springs. Bought ONLY the springs because I figured I'd just...

1G Help with rear sway bar choice please

Hey all,I'm in the process of working on putting my rear end back together. Since it's out, I figure now is the best time to install a sway bar. But having been soo long since I've driven the car and the fact that it'll be a totally different animal, I could use some help making the choice...

Evo 8-10 Brembo Calipers DSM Conversion (for 1g too)

Parts list? Not really, but you pretty much want to get everything from a 3kgt vr4 for the rear...- both rear trailing arms from a 2g 3kgt vr4 (make sure it's all there... ebrake set up, backing plate, ebrake cables, hub, axle cups AND the nut and washers that hold them on)- upper and lower...

Evo 8-10 Brembo Calipers DSM Conversion (for 1g too)

It might be a little before I mount them up.... working on the rear end... evo 3 mechanical diff with diff rebuild, clean and painting rear subframe and replacing bushings. And find the time, lol.I am having trouble finding the cut and weld work i did to the trailing arms, but i can snap some...

Evo 8-10 Brembo Calipers DSM Conversion (for 1g too)

Yeah, I will post up some pics. I think they are on my old phone, but I'll find them. I was just curious really, thank you for the insight though. I already planned on going with the wider track so the only mod I did to the trailing arm was the shock mounting point. I'm using the 1g lower...

Evo 8-10 Brembo Calipers DSM Conversion (for 1g too)

I get all that. That's cool. But if you just shorten the upper and lower control arms, did you change how the front of the arm mounts as well? I'd imagine if you didn't the arms would sit angled to in, but on the backside of the tire? Or am I just imagining this?I apologize for the barrage...

Evo 8-10 Brembo Calipers DSM Conversion (for 1g too)

How so? What trouble? Don't want to make use of the wider track? Granted the fronts you'd have to use some spacers to match ....

Evo 8-10 Brembo Calipers DSM Conversion (for 1g too)

That looks great! But do you mind if I ask why you shortened the upper and lowers? I assume to bring the wheels in so they don't stick out??
  10. pearl4gtsi

Evo 8-10 Brembo Calipers DSM Conversion (for 1g too)

Yes they do. As does 3sx. I went my way with the welding because I already have suspension for the car and didn't want to replace it.
  11. pearl4gtsi

Evo 8-10 Brembo Calipers DSM Conversion (for 1g too)

It very well could be. Doing that on mine right now. The 3kgt vr4 and 1g rear trailing arms are almost identical. The evo 8 rear caliper bolts right up and retains the e-brake which is in the top hat of the rotor separate from the caliper. 3kgt vr4 ebrake cables work with no modification. The...

1G Possible Evo 8 suspension adapters??

It's an awd. And I have seen that post before, but that's for factory strut swap. I'm going performance. I guess I just like the idea of having it be a bolt on affair and wanted to know if this would work.... not that I can't fab and weld on my own.I currently have Tein super street coil...

1G Possible Evo 8 suspension adapters??

So a buddy of mine has a 3kgt and I've been helping him work on it. While looking at the 3sx.com website for performance parts, I came across this kit...http://www.3sx.com/store/comersus_viewItemBundle.asp?idProduct=34892It's an adapter kit to make the Evo 8 suspension a direct bolt on the...

    Rally anti lag throttle body

I have been looking into the thought of getting anti lag setup on my 1g... Are there any benefits to doing it this way vs. Air injection into the exhaust manifold? Also, everyone says it is hell on a turbo... But how would a Holset stand up to it? Turbo off a diesel, made for abuse... Any...

The gaps are definitely too big... Electrodes are worn down.Second plug from the left look like it ran the hottest...Far right plug looks off... Has some build up on it... Might be coolant. And the porcelain on the far left is discolored more than the other 3, but I'm not sure...

    6k Idle Please Help

1G Jay Racing alternator kit does not fit

I, too have run into this issue. On a 1g using a Saturn alternator with the spacer on the driver side of the bracket, I think I had maybe 1/16" between the alt pulley and frame, which I'm not comfortable with. And it's also known to me that there has been no front end collisions on this...

    Resolved 1G Constant Misfire

If your only getting 3 psi max on a boost leak test, there should be a large, easy to find boost leak! And a boost leak that big can cause a misfire.I would definitely suggest the following: 1. Boost leak test and fix every leak you find 2. Check the resistance of your ignition coils(as per...

South Bend Clutch Users Questionairre- looking for updates on everyone's setups!

I'm looking at getting an ss-x tz/b combo for my build. I'm in search of 500whp and who knows where i will be on the torque side of things. Have a Fidanza flywheel, getting a new friction surface. The car will be mostly a weedend warrior, possibly seeing a few times at the drag strip and...

First cruise after HX35 install...any and all opinions & suggestions please!

Is your fuel pump not rewired directly to the battery? If your volts are that low, they are possibly lower at the pump. Low voltage at the pump will affect fuel pressure, which if you don't have enough fuel, could cause laggyness, stumbling, knocking. I'd start with a rewire of the pump and...

Man.... When I was in high school, all I had really thought was cool was Hondas.... So glad I dodge that bullet!I had gotten my license at 16, was driving around in my dads Buick station wagon with a friend, and he yelled and pointed out a dark blue 1g and said "it's turbo!". My eyes lit up...

Just looking for some extra eyes on my setup. Any glaring problems or missing links?

No problem. But I hope this doesn't shy you away from them. I've run them for 30k+ miles and haven't had a single issue with them, or with the oil squirters being hit.Like I said, on my build they JUST touched, so I figured with thermal expansion, it'd be a safe bet to tweak the squirters...

Just looking for some extra eyes on my setup. Any glaring problems or missing links?

I noticed you are using/plan on using weisco 9.0:1 pistons... I'm running those. What I've read AND found out on my own is that the skirt of those pistons come VERY close, if not touches the oil squirters. I would check this and give them a little tweak either way.I simply used a map gas...

How to check if 6 bolt bore and pistons are good?

I second his motion ^.... Just get a whole new set of pistons, larger of course, I would assume .020 over and have a machine shop re-bore it. That is the safest route with a much better chance for the longevity of the motor.Sure, you might be able to get away with just the one.... But do you...

    anyone running hood exit exhaust

Just a thought, but unless it is POURING, wouldn't a little rain actually keep the turbine housing clean-er? I mean, while running with hot exhaust comming out, any droplets that enter would become "steam" and in a way, "steamclean" the exhaust/turbine???Correct me if I'm wrong... Just...
