Another one checking in. List is as follows:
-XD(m) .45acp in the 4.5'' barrel-XD Sub-Compact .40 with Pachmayr tactical-grip glove and Pierce mag extension.-Unnamed .410 bolt-action shotgun-Unnamed .22 that I inherited from my dad, who got it from HIS dad, and is probably older than all...
Awesome info! Now, being a math reject, could anyone break down the Link settings based on 1g fuel pressure for me? I wouldn't mind doing the legwork if anyone would provide a formula in layman's terms. Thanks again TWDORRIS for doing this and to the guy that sent him the injectors! :thumb:
I'm sure if you went over to the guys on GMTNation.com or Trailvoy.com they could give you a definitive answer or at least help you rule some stuff out. I prefer GMT, great crowd and fast responses. :thumb:
I finally got off my arse and did a little work on the Laser. I haven't been driving her lately due to the seat padding crumbling into nothing and me having a bad back. I searched around and didn't really find any solutions, (i.e. the free kind) so I went ahead and experimented a bit. I took...
Backstory: I had a pretty decent tune on the car but it always ran at bit rich (cruising at 12-13:1 ) so I attempted to lean it out. I read that the evo 560s flowed more like 575s, so I set the global according to that. Since then, the car has been running in the 15:1 to --- reading on the AEM...
Ok, so I took your advice Nathan and everything seems on the up and up. I cant get the value options for the wideband that you had displayed. All I could get was the voltage settings? In either case the airfuelest now matches my actual gauge. I went for a cruise and let the MAFcompadjust do it's...
Makes sense. I just want to make sure my base settings are correct before I try to head off into the wild blue yonder for a cruise/WOT tune. Would it be easier to adjust (if needed) to take fuel out with the global and add it back with deadtime in order to be more precise?Another question: I'm...
I used Link's suggestions for EVO injectors, so I've been working around that. In what way would you suggest I adjusted the fuel? I warned you guys I was a tuning nub lol. I corrected my idle and had to adjust the MAF sliders for a jump in the airflowperrev. Here's a log post-adjustment...
Forgot to add, my wide band gauge seems about one point off of the a/fest in Link. Is this an indication of problems or a variance to be expected using two different sources for one measurement?
Thanks for the reply. The gas I'm using is a mix of fresh and 5 months old, and it's 93 octane with "up to 10% ethanol added". Do I need to tune for the ethanol, moreover, how would I do so not knowing what percent is actually ethanol? I'm thinking I may have over tightened the knock sensor, so...
I have a VERY rudimentary understanding of tuning so I'm here to get my learn on lol. I see greater than 3 degrees of knock at around 2k rpm and am trying to square that away. So I guess the basic questions are: Are my idle settings OK and what might be causing the knock to appear so early and...
Green Earth TechnologiesGreen Motor Oil, based on biodegradable materials. Supposedly outperforms most fully syn brands. I'm using it next oil change and I'll post back with results :thumb:
I've owned this car for 6 years, been working on cars for a little longer. One would THINK I had that process down pat. Guess that goes to show how old habits aren't always GOOD habits lol.
Hello all,I've been trying to bleed my clutch for the better part of 3 hours now. I tried without a mityvac at first. I put a vacuum hose on the bleed valve and submerged the other end in a bottle of brake fluid. Then I cracked the bleed valve and pumped the pedal. All was going well until...
Awesome. I wonder why I couldn't that easy of an answer from the ecmlink forums lol. I'll take care of that once the laptop charges. Thanks again, man. :cool:EDIT: Works perfectly now. Don't know why I never tried turning narrowband sim off, guess that seemed counter-productive at the time...
So, I just need to turn off the narrowband sim and let it go? What value would I log to make sure the o2 is actually switching? Thanks for the help. :thumb::hellyeah:
Just wanted to drop in and say I have the same problem Jigga, so I'll be interested if you figure it out. Also, with the going lean issue, what fuel pump are you running? If you have a Walbro 190 or greater I would imagine an alternator that isn't up to par would cause the pump to put out less...
I'm also curious about this, I have my AEM UEGO hooked into the front o2 input and can't get Link to recognize the narrow band sim for anything. Is there an advantage to running it to the EGR input? Or any other input for that matter?Consider me subscribed :sneaky:
I would suggest hitting up your local Best Buy, Radio Shack, etc.
You could probably find one that will work at TigerDirect.com or NewEgg.com too, if you're willing to wait for shipping.

That's what I was thinking with the tensioner, I just wanted some more experienced input on it. Now, I'm no hulk but I have a fair bit of grip strength (insert joke here), so i just wanted to double-check. The tensioner has an unknown amount of miles on it, so I have to assume it's been on the...
Forgot to mention that, I have adjusted the pedal to the max it would allow me while activating "the button". I did the adjustment using the Jack Transmission video as a guide. Thanks for the reply :thumb:
OK, so to start things off, I just wanted to say that I've searched around and even looked at every 4g63 related video on YouTube lol.I did a timing belt job on my car a few weeks back, I botched the timing (off by two teeth...no bent valves, Danke Gott) and had to take everything apart...
Does anyone have a spare alternator bracket? I broke mine and that's the last piece I need before I'm done with the build. I've tried the local pick'n'pulls and all they have is either the wrong version or the 1.8 motors. If anyone can help me out, I can throw 20 bucks in for it. It's the one...
I'm 13 days out from quitting (tobacco) cold turkey. I've chewed enough gum to leave behind the mintiest corpse EVER. No cravings though. Do I WANT a cigarette? Yes, yes I do. Do I NEED a cigarette? Nope. It's too easy, so long as you're committed to the idea and your family and friends...
Oddly enough, that's exactly what I did. I kept turning the damn filter and couldnt figure out wtf it wouldn't snug up...not one of my best moments lol. After 30 lbs of kitty litter and a few tears over the 25 dollars worth of Mobil 1 and Lucas, she's all buttoned up and ready to roll :thumb:

I've been a fan of the original for years now, and I've gotta say that the US version is exactly what I expected. I have never liked Tanner Foust in any capacity in which I could hear him talk, and I have NO clue who the other guys are. You would think that in the good ol' USA we could have...
Not trying to play necromancer here, but O.P. do you work at one of the S Shops in 1st BCT? I swear I've seen that car at HQ before a Monday formation.
I got it out, I had to use a torch to heat the shit out of it and grab it with some vice grips. Now all I have to do is get those damn oil return bolts in and I'm golden lol. Thanks for all the help, guys :thumb: :laser:
For some reason, I had it backwards, I was thinking if I used some cryo on the part the metal would contract and allow the PB blaster and liquid wrench to get down in there and loosen things up. I'll give the heat a try when I get the extractor set. Thanks for the tip, man.
Well shit balls, I guess I'll look for one the Nashville area. Or I might just suck it up and buy it online and square away some other stuff on the car while I'm waiting. Anyone here on post know what all they have the DIY shop here? I've heard rumors, but I don't even know exactly where its at...
Hey guys, I could use some help. I broke one of my turbo to mani bolts off, I have the hotside off, I just need someone with the stuff to get it out. I have a spare 16g hotside, but the outlet is 6cm instead of my 7cm. So, long story short, if anyone can help me get it out, I'd be really...
Hey guys, I hate to be the neighbor that only comes around when they need something, but I broke a mani-to-turbo bolt that I need extracted. Does anyone in the Clarksville area have the extractor or whatever that can do that? Or if nothing else, can someone point me in the right direction to a...
Were a Rally forum opened, I'd visit and contribute as much as I could. Not a lot of that going around here that I know of, though. Anyone familiar with any Rally events near the nashville/clarksville area?
I found this after surfing Tuners for a few days straight, why all the intardnets and no work? I just had a cage put around my spine on Monday at the ripe age of 25. Being a medic in the army I can tell you whoever said to alternate tylenol and motrin every 6 hours is the winner. (If you have...
I live here on Campbell too, and I don't know if you're tracking or not, but Fort Campbell has the ONLY DoDDs school that is stateside. I know it's a giant pain in the ass, but living on post is TOTALLY worth having your kids attend a DoDD school. I was an army-brat before I came in and attended...
Just for ha-has, you might also check to make sure the battery is the right size. When I has my GS back in the day, the P.O. had yanked a battery from what I'm guessing was a truck. Needless to say, it was grounding out on the hood and killing the car. Good luck :thumb:
Used to Fords? As in not making it out of the driveway? Muahahaha. And you need to break down and drive that thing up here on the weekend so we can run over it with a wide-toothed comb for an hour or two. Sheesh.
1983 Honda Accord 4-door equipped with a three barrel carburetor. We called her Sushi because she was Japanese and ran like a dead fish. She topped out at 90 mph and was managed to survive my asshat-ery, sold her to some AF guy back home, so far as I know, she's still kicking somewhere.
Just got the Laser up and going (again lol), barring a major catastrophe I'm down for a meet on the weekends (father of 3, so I don't get a lot of free time). As long as I get a few days notice I can make it, hell, I might even bring a kid or two lol.Later,
Eric
Now, I might be completely wrong here, but why not cut the wire an inch or two away from the plug and then splice in the new wire? Not only would it make life easier on you, but it would also be easier to reverse if something goes wrong. Just a thought, good luck w/ it :thumb:
The high-rise spoiler will fit on any 2g so far as I know, and it would be body color. Instead of covering up the seats, see how some leather cleaner might look. And the front bumper needs some love for sure, sourcing a decent set of stock fog lights and bezels shouldn't be too hard if you hunt...
