Last couple of days my car started to idle oddly.. but today I have narrowed it down. When I'm driving, the car runs nicely but when I shift gears, with the clutch engaged, the rpms drop really fast!My clutch is almost done, not a whole lot of life left in it but i'm wondering why the...
So driving home one day at night my coolant, battery and parking brake light come on, so I immediately assume its my alternator since this has happened to me once before. I got a 90 amp bosch alternator and installed it, started the car and no lights, problem free.Later that day I went out...
found out the problem, so stupid. My clutch fluid was empty.. i didn't bother to open the resevoir and look, i just sort of peered through and it looked full but really it was just the darkness of the brakefluid that make the resevoir look full. It has stained the white resevoir.Mechanics...
yesterday the car was perfect, shifting was easy with the clutch depressed. I came home, parked the car over night and the next day I took th ecar out, the clutch felt.. weird, like.. softer and the gears wouldn't go into gear, i had to force them with both hands.I live in canada, so...
Honestly, I have no idea, but it happened to mine and since the voltage keeps checking out ok they refuse to give me a new one.. they are messed up! Interstate has the best warranty i beleive and is over all the best battery
Sorry, forgot to add. You should do an AVR test (alternator test) Take it to any Auto Parts store and they should be able to do that test for you for free. It could also be your alternator not charging your battery properly, if both alternator and battery are good, then try to check the...
Battery my friend! I had a crappy canadian tire battery here in canada and the lights would come on but the car wouldn't turn over. I checked voltage, it was great at like 13volts.I took the battery back, they charged it for me and car started fine.. i left it over night same problem. I...
terminals have covers on them, but the problem is solved. Its the battery, the shitty auto parts store sucks and keep lying to me, but I replaced with an Interstate battery.. supposedly the best =P Thanks anyhow thoguh
This is an odd problem I ran into today.. basically after work I drove for 40 min to get home. I got home, turned car off for about 30 min. I started the car no problems and drove for about 20 min to pick up my gf and then we stopped to watch a movie. Come back after movie, the car won't even...
no leaks!.. i took off my heat shield, and i got crack in my exhaust manifold.. i believe thats where the smoke is coming from!! thanks for your help.. just got that starting problem now =[
The last few weeks been having some starting problems.. the car starts, but idles like shit, if I rev it.. the car goes upto like 6000rpm and jsut dies, i'll start it again, same thing.. its like not getting enough fuel or something?.. like one of the pistons aren't firing.. but after a few...
Hey I got it for $2000 CAN, and its a 500, never been dropped, I'm the 4th owner, the guy i bought it from just bought it this year and is going back to school thats why he's selling it.. but the guy he bought it from had it since 1990 and babied it.. which is good for me.. i can't believe how...
I just bought my first motorcycle, vroom vroom, not bad for my first bike, its a 1986 honda interceptor.. pic is herehttp://www.jay-d.com/images/motorcycle/bike_high.gifI already did my first mod to it too!.. if you look at the rear turn signals, they stick out soo much, so shaved them...
ok, well since no one knows the problem, it happened again coming to work, but only for like 15 minutes, then it stopped.. I also noticed the ECU resets mostly when I press the brake..anyone have any idea?? something that I could go with???
I left my friends house in the evening after watching a movie, I've been driving the car all day and no signs of nothing. I get back into the car and when i get up the street I hear the ECU clicking when i step on the brake, or when I signal, basically whenever I put on an electical accessory...
its your clutch, for one, if it was your tranny and you put it into gear and reved teh gas you'd hear grinding noises, if you shift into gear smoothly, everything is working, when diagnosing a problem always start with teh cheapest thing moving up to the more expensive one, so in your case...
uhm, its something to do withy our charging system, check your alternator, check the connections, get a volt metere and measure the voltage on the battery with the car running, should read 13.0 - 13.5.. around there, low 12's or anything is bad, means your alternator not pushing out what its...
in the harness of wires you should have one that plugs into the alternator, one that screws onto the alternator and then there's this third one, that just kinds clips somewhere, if you look at the oil filter housing you will see the male end of that clip, i believe thats the ground, not 100%...
Sorry, i guess i lacked some information, basically, i believe pins 2 & 3 show no OHM readings. All other pins are between .28 - .33, in spec, but those 2 pins don't give a reading, it happened with my first ISC and the 2nd used one that i replaced.. heh but I'll give that crebtech a shot and...
my ecu is brand spanking new =D.. hehe well not new new, but its really clean and the car has 200,000km on it and the caps still look brand new, but i went ahead and did the cap replacement a couple months ago.. im guessing, its just a coincedence that the ISC got messed up again, it was good...
well check the battery/alternator for starters, also when your car hesitates at WOT, try checking your plugs and wires, are your plugs gapped properly? My car was doing something of the same thing when I'd start the car, it would start but idle at like 200rpms and I'd have to hold teh gas...
check your wires for starters, make sure your battery terminals are clean.. get a volt meter and hook it up to your battery and see how much volts your altenator is pushing out, should be around 13.5 - 14.. try that without running any electricals, then turn on everything like radio, lights...
oil pressure gauge was working fine.. i know the switch your talking about, it faces the tire, but this terminal was facing the front adn the wire that connects to it came from the altenator
woohoo fixed =D.. i got a new altenator and in the process of replacing it i saw this wire that had snapped from its terminal, the wires attached to the oil filter housing.. hmm.. is that the ground wire? it was awfully skinny, but i put a new terminal on and hooked everything up and no...
the game hits stores ... Sept 30th, 2003.. =[ I know, so far away.. boo.. but I was reading that this game will run on lower end machines, even 700meghz processors!http://www.planethalflife.com/half-life2/Oh yea, half Life 3 is planned as well.. =D woohoo! .. 3gig ram here i come!
I dunno how many of you guys are into computer games, but this game is unbelieveable. I saw the 22 min preview and this game destroys all possible games out there. Everything in the game is moveable, everything reacts with everythings, its crazy, I'm going to upgrade my computer just so I can...
I've got bad idle surge, and i tried #dsm on irc.dsm.org, now i asked a simple question "is it a big job removing the TB, do i need to replace any gaskets if i take it off" .. so some guy "hal" responds with "if i have to ask im not qualified to do it"What the hell is that?? so i continue...
What does that mean if you car runs with really low voltage but no radio, headlights work? My car did that for about 10 seconds, voltage dropped to like 5.65 but shot back upto 12-13..
I didn't suspect the altenator because its only 3 months old, and when my altenator did take a crap, the charging system lights came on (battery, coolant, e-brake). Another simple question, whats the normal voltage your battery should be at, today driving to work it was flucuating from like...
why doesn't anyone answer any questions or give me some sort of guidance as to what to do, i swear, the last 10 posts, i've got like 1 reply.. yeppy!!!!!!!!!
Today i was driving to work on the highway and all of a sudden my lights and my radio turned off. The signal lights still worked, teh car hadn't lost any power, no dash lights came on.. i took out my pocketlogger and i hooked it up and the battery voltage was dropping from 8volt all teh way to...
i don't know if your 420a motor has an ISC, but that was happening to my car and it was my ISC. Sounds like the ISC to me, if you got one.. if not.. im not sure =[
most likely your battery, its probably not holding a charge.. the best bet would be to hook up a volt meter to it.. watch the voltage, when the cars started its probably around 13 - 14 volts, but with the car off, if the voltage drops, that just shows you one or more cells in the battery aren't...
hmm.. c heck ur MPI fuse, its attached to the positive battery cable right where the cable attaches to the battery terminal. That fuse powers the fuel pump. Seems to me you have a few blown fuses.. there might be a short somewhere, thats causing the fuses to blow..
another way to ease teh coupler on is, by heating it up.. turn ur stove on and just rotate it over the burner, warm it up nice, its rubber, rubber stretches a lot when its hot and it just pops on there with no trouble.
youe best bet without customizing the swap is a Dodge Colt, the mounts and shit are in teh same spots, when i get my jdm turbo engine, im giving my 4g63 to my friend that owes a colt =D.. and colts are cheap, he got his for $500!
