Very common when certain seals in the tranny are bad. I've had luck with tranny conditioner that softens the seals and eliminates the "cold" tranny issues. I know you said the tranny doesn't have much milage on it but sounds to me like it has some issues. Has it been sitting for any period of time?

Sounds like mabe a wastegate issue or a large boost leak. Even with some shaft play the turbo will STILL make boost. I would check for a coupler that might have blown off first then mabe check your wastegate.
