  1. New way to do valve seals

Yeah, so we got desperate.1/2 inch exstention, 1/2 inch to 3/8 inch adapterspark plug remover (13/16) 13mm 1/2 inch socketThat's it. Nothing more. Oh yeah, some man strength. Now, I'm not totally sure if its ever been done, but we were sitting in my boys room, fighting this valve...
  2. Timing help needed

yo bro, i dont know if you answered this questoin or went through it already but it kind of seems like you have a boost leak..anyways, i would like to take a look at the car im over the walt whitman bridge, if you wouldnt mind coming by, plus tomorrow night is track night at atco raceway me and...
  3. My car keeps jumping timing

maybe i have a solution....first - 2 teeth arent gonna bend valves, its when it jumps way out...the reason it may keep jumping is due to the accentric tensioner driving the timing belt. This tension is the round one attached to the hydraulic tensioner assembly. If the 2 pin holes arent...
  4. David Blaine "Drowned Alive"

I watched this show once it was like magic unleashed or some corny shit, but it had almost a whole segment on david blaine and his tricks and this guy would show his tricks that he did on tv and completely replicate everything he did for that trick, then showed how he used alot of camera magic...
  5. Weird stuttering at idle/bad hesitations driving...

re-read the post and stay on topic, this isnt about boost levels.
  6. Weird stuttering at idle/bad hesitations driving...

i dont have a boost controller on it. i have boost leak tested it...not once but quite a few times just to make sure im eliminateing it...the stock actuator is 8psi.
  7. Weird stuttering at idle/bad hesitations driving...

no actually I dont think I have a boost leak, it holds 8psi and the actuatoris hooked up directly to a boost source, so I can pretty much eliminate a boost leak cause it builds instantly to 8psi and holds right to the top of the rpmband.
  8. Weird stuttering at idle/bad hesitations driving...

Whats up everyone. I just got my car back on the road and its giving me a bit of a problem...From a cold start the car runs and revs fine until about 10 minutes into the warm-up the temperature guage is reading about halfway from the half-mark and the quarter-mark. As you free rev it at...
  9. How much oil pressure is too much?

OK, now I'm quite confused....1. Why can't you put the mechanical one inside the car?...doesn't make no sense to me why you can't.2. I know that after several weeks, or even 500-1000 miles the oil pressure at idle and fully warmed up is going to be alot lower than the first few days or...
  10. How much oil pressure is too much?

Hey, anyone wanna keep me informed too. Just got done a ross racing piston/eagle rod build-up and no balance shafts, purchased one of those mechanical oil pressure guages from auto-meter and at a bone cold start up, it idles at 1500rpm pulls about 85-95psi of oil pressure, by the time it is...
  11. Will this seize a motor?

I dont know, it may be the picture, but I think that valve is destroyed, it looks alot LOWER THAN ALL THE OTHER VALVES and with that ROCKER OUT OF THERE, that bi*** should straight up, higher than any of those other valves, I think the head on the valve is bent if your not able to turn the motor...
  12. 1g big rod with 2g piston question

For the question of how long does it take to do the work.I went into my guy around 8 in the morning, or so and came back at 2pm, after his lunch break and he had them done. He laughed and said those little 4 bangers give him more of a hardtime than his big v8's he used to building. Just to...
  13. Bad MOVE/ New Motor.....

Hey allMe and my buddy just finished his motor yesterday, put it in and all was well.....The car started, and didnt build oil pressure. we shut it off...look over a few things and nothing....ok, we decide start it up... and this motor starts up within 2 turns and purrs like a kitty, but...
  14. DSm myspace layout

    whoops, sorry pre-made layout
  15. 20g compressor housing/ 16 centersection

Hey all, I was wondering if I took my good 16g center section that still has the exhaust wheel, the tdo5 wheel, and I was wondering if i could slap on the 20g compressor wheel to the oteher side of the 16g center-section, and would the compressor cover work for that we have for the 16g, or even...
  16. So I Just Came Back From The Doctor............

Yeah, where is there is scam in all of this, this is a pretty serious condition..
  17. o2 volts - datalogging

Hey whats up? It seems to be that this talon my boy and I have been working on has finally come together enough to tune it. I need to know what type of timign advance and o2 sensor volts I should be looking for.91 eagle talon .20 over motor on 2g pistons 255lph fuel pump 3inch dowpipe...
  18. Who really really hates this? (Obvious, pointless threads about nothing)

Waiting sucks, I have been there and done that for every god damned part for these cars. They're awesome god damned parts though. :)As for this period thing, is it a life or death situation? Do you have to type out your anger over a cyber illiterate world. What a waste of time; and a waste...
  19. Hot misfire

    timing belt, exhaust cam?
  20. Holy crap! Cheapest gas I've seen in a while.

between 2.10-2.20 for regularcitgo holds a special for the weekend for premium(93) for 2.28monday itll go up to 2.38 for 93
  21. Talon Problems

I know for a fact and I think I would put money on it, that the noise you are hearing is the downpipe hitting the driveshaft. If the dude did any work on the car himself, especially the exhaust, and the way you are explaining things seems like he was jackass and never took care of the car...
  22. timing problems

Have you had a logger on it? Did you check your o2 volts? Watch to see what they are doing in comparison to what your timing is doing. If it bounces around with the timing then you could possibly have a bad o2 sensor.
  23. what is controlling my boost

Is it a possibility your boost controller is hooked up backwards? Have you chekced your wiring and vacuum routing? I do not know too much about how the EBC's are hooked up, although I have heard that if you hook it up backwards, it has the potential too only boost what your wastegate is going to...
  24. Feels like the brakes are on when I turn at slow speeds

If you dont mind how much was it for the total part cost since you did the work right?
  25. High psi/boost "burp"-possible cause?

I would gap your plugs to something a tiny bit bigger, like .28 - it may not seem much but in an environment like that it is. Also, try a colder plug like an 8es.
  26. turbo shuts off @ 4krpm???

If its always around that same RPM, check the o2 sensor. My car was acting funny only at a certain RPM I would pass and I logged it to find out the o2 was going crappy everytime around that RPM. Swapped it out with a brand new BOSCH and it runs great.
  27. "the Evil talon" finally not so evil...LONG

Yes, that is what I am going to dub this car, "The Evil Talon", because since day one it has been nothing but problems. Name it, we've had a problem with it. Timing was off about 4-5 teeth when we got the car. The tranny liked to move around an inch away from the motor since it only had 2 loose...
  28. Creating a monster....

Ahh yes, I give you guys the most respect on this board. I started reading this thread and you (nuggets) had no idea what you were talking about it seemed. Now, you'ved built a really nice and looks to be a very well put together car. I saw the bashing, the stupid remarks people tend to say to...
  29. AHH!!! Blew my motor!?!

I'll tell you what, if you do have metal shavings in the oil pan, then i bet theres a balance shaft bearing sitting at the bottom of the pan and it wont come out cause its all clumped at the bottom of the pan. Good luck, but, I am going with a balance shaft bearing on this time. Same thing...

  31. Drill + Block = hole in block

Actually we fixed it yesterday. We took a trip to advanced auto parts and talked to a guy who sounded like he knew his shit. He gave us this stuff. It was in a tube and it was like a putty. The slogan on it said "Dries harder than steal in 15 mins". Looked cheesey and cheap but the price tag...
  32. Changing valve stem seals [Merged 8-7]

Hahah, yeah, I think i would get banned too. Especially for the shit I have done with this talon in the last 2 weeks.
  33. Changing valve stem seals [Merged 8-7]

  34. clutch slipped bad on launch

BREAKING IN THE CLUTCH...single most important thing...hahah, yeah right. I installed my brand new from the factory act 2600 clutch on a resurfaced flywheel, took it down my driveway, launched the piss out of it with literally no miles on the clutch at all, not even .1 miles. Took it to the...
  35. Got the talon to the track...

Wtf? I had no control over a seal going bad at the track?
  36. Got the talon to the track...

Oh yeah, the leak was from a blown front balance shaft seal. Sorry, since I had so much control over that. dumby.
  37. Got the talon to the track...

They didn't send my ass packing, they asked me politely to service my oil leak. Why be a ****, or even better...whats the point of making a stupid comment like that? Is there some sort of action a moderator can take on that? That comment just disturbs me for some reason. It was almost like...
  38. Got the talon to the track...

Yeh, it is awesome, it's even better seeing that it was only on 12psi of boost and base timing, i know the car has way more power in it. I think next time we get it to the track, hopefully we can run some race gas and advance the timing and raise the boost.
  39. Got the talon to the track...

    its an awd
  40. Got the talon to the track...

So, last night me and my boy took his talon to the track. It's a very plagued talon, as it has quarts of oil dripping from it, but we said #### it and decided to run it. We got there and it was runnin 17psi of boost and on the first run, bunch of shit happened. It ran a 19 @ 40mph, yep, pretty...
  41. Glad I don't live there...

Oh and another thing...why is it so damn exspensive to race at a track where everyone is. Is it seriously 35-40 dollars? Here in south jersey, located in ATCO theres a track. It's actually well known to a lot of NHRA competition and real big on street nights. Its only 10 bucks to get in and...
  42. Glad I don't live there...

    #### It, Lets All Do Drugs Instead!!!!
  43. Look my new bike

    lol why?
  44. So I need to drain old fuel out of my tank, but......(dumb question inside)

put it in a ford, with good gas...it'll be fine, or just use it to cut the grass and shit.
  45. Alternator bad?

Replace the spark plugs, believe me there is a good motion for it. :thumb:
  46. Slighty humorous cop story

me niether, but awesome none-the-less :thumb:
  47. Strange timing and severe hesitation problem

VERY IMPORTANT...I see the timing belt was done, in all this mess. Did you check the timing belt to make sure the cam gears are lined up TDC with the crank. Its important you spin the cam gears around to see if there at 12 o clock. Whats even more important is to see if the crank is at TDC...
  48. Drill + Block = hole in block

O, well what about this...Fill the very very bottom of the hole with permatex, right near the galley, but dont close the galley off. Let it dry...then weld from the permatex out to the end of the block...or could I use MARINE-TEX. I heard from a lot of old heads, marine-tex is the shit and it'll...
