read my post from 2 years back #167 where i talk about topline ring gap in a 020 bored over situation. I am actually complaining there pre gapped rings they sent me were on the lose side of the specifications. This is with a 020 bore balanced perfectly in its tolerances.
as long as your block was bored within stock specs which should have been measured infront of you at the machine shop with a depth mic if you didnt have the tools yourself then i guarenttee you the rings will be fine. I have used topline rings in builds in the past and they are always dead on to...
topline comes pre-gapped it will be with stock specs. Its a low performance OEM replacement. Though its definatly good practice to check your specs before final assy. you will be fine im sure. High performance rings come gapped below specs so the builder can gap them to there specific...
nice, i think the fuel system is tits! how sturdy is that fire extinguisher on the panel? I assume its only bolted to the panel and not fixed directly to the chassis. and also where are you gonna put the radio now? Every street car needs a radio....
oh yea and to clear up the confusion G4CP is just basicly the hyundai version of a 4g63 6 bolt non turbo block. haha not to be confused with the 2.4 liter g4cn
dsmcamaro- if you clicked up a folder in my photobucket account to the folder just called talon those are old pictures unrelated. That manifold is long gone. lol Here is a few pictures of the downpipe i fabricated for the turbo after i replaced that manifoldthanks guys...
I just finished my last 4 month project of replacing the better have the powertrain in my talon and have some pictues that im sure everyone wants to look at. Quick rundown of everything it is thus far.Talons G4CP turbocharged engine
-oversized pistons 0.020
- forged rotating assembly...
there really isnt a wide variety of these pumps out there for sale. i found this one http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=8072615257&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT what do you guys think? You think it will have the capacity im looking for to build a decent amount of oil...
i think you guys are completly overlooking what this system is designed for. Sure it will prime the engine to prevent dry start ups, why not. It would also give a much stronger oil pressure then an accumulator. The main purpose of this set up is the post shut down run time that can cool the...
I am starting a research project (and this is the begining for my proposal) to complete my automotive minor and decided to base it on some work I do with my car. Ive always been real interested in the benifits of an electric oil pump and while complete dependency on our engines would be...
i built my last 6 bolt non turbo 2.0 using a topline rebuild kit that came with ITM rings in it. They were the same way your described. They were a drop in piston ring yet the gap on the 1st and 2nd ring were excessive. Not to the service limit but not within spec and not what i want to put in a...
im not sure what version msd box it is. But i dont think its interfierence in the wires, the msd techs told me not to worry about that with the dis 2 box because its capacitive discharge and they dont really have a problem with that. Also the box runs great at high rpms without the tach adapter...
I have a msd-dis2 box wired into my 2g turbo, Its mounted underneath the passenger seat and has the wiring leading into the engine bay where it connects to the coil pack and engine harness with stock male and female coil pack connectors i soldiered on the harness from another vehicle. All wires...
this is such a vague problem you described i dont think anyone can help you except for pointing in the dark. Vacuum is low when the rpms are low and the engine is mirfiring or hesitating as you describe. How do you knwo its running lean if you start it and it only runs a few seconds as it takes...
fuel pump will bolt right in as long as its a 2g turbo fuel pump. Injectors i dont think will work as i doubt they are the same size as the 420a injectors, being they arent the same engine let alone even made by the same manufacturer. Most likely wrong impedience, plug, and phyiscial...
im sorry you dont believe that as thats the truth. I was out of the hospital 2 days after the accident, im a strong healer and impressed alot of people aswell as my father being the director of the ERs in the area i was able to leave.
here is his myspace if you would like to look at him/ want to be friends with him (better not!) http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=27659042alex
rumor has it marijuana was a factor in his behavior. So my friend told me he said he was going to do before i meet up with him that night. My lawyer said good luck proving that
i was wearing my seat belt from the second i sat down to the moment i was taken to the hospital as i always do. I had bruises on my hips to prove. Im unaware of the speed, the police report stated the he was doing 65-70 but we may have very well been going faster. Its a 35 mph turn. Ill go take...
this is a common problem on 2g awds the fuel guage not working properly after its been removed. Most likely iwould guess you didnt re align the assembly with the mating marks on the assy. & tank.
some of you guys are real good guys on here. Kills my perception from most local dsmers i meet that are egg heads (figurativly speaking) Its nice to see other itelligent people with with a passion for a strange dieing breed of odd cars. Even though i almost died in one.
well thanks everyone maybe this will make someone on here think twice before driving to close to the limit on public roads and more importantly to me with passengers unwilling to die for your stunts
Hes fine enjoying his life, he has no repercusions to his actions, meanwhile i have to feel the consequences of his actions every moment of life since. I missed all my finals at CMU so my life is still at a standstill since the accident. I do however continue to work on my car and drive it. A...
On april 22 i worked on an aquantances car who keept bugging me to help him. I installed a fuel pump, injectors, and an afc for 60 bucks. After we were done at 1am saturday morning my buddy who helped went home and me and the driver went for a test drive. It turned out great and he got to cocky...
my guess is the engine was not cleaned properly before reassembling or there is an issue in the oil pump. the service manual gives pretty specific directions on how to inspect the front case.
oh dont you worry. since that crappy 11.9 i ran on pump gas ive added SMIM, redone fuel delivery, methonal injection, large crankcase ventalation, and have it running properly now. The only thing keepin me from busting through that old 1/4 mi time is the fact that i have a broken neck. Hopefully...
10ft! no way you need a 6.5' length to the filter and 1.5' length to the fuel rail, that is presuming your putting the fuel filter near the stock location
sounds like something is definatly wired incorrectly, you should probe the wire right before the ecu it appears to be pin 75 and check the voltage. If its reading a constant 19 a/f ratio sounds like it might just be wired to straight 12 volts. Check your innovate grounds aswell.
silent shaft aka balance shaft bearing going bad usually is about the end of the life the engines bottom end. In my experience when i find a spun balance shaft bearing usually the rest of the rod and main bearings are in poor shape aswell. If this is infact your problem the sooner you spot and...
balance shaft belt or a failing silent shaft bearing aswell can do it. A fuel injection or ignition timing issue can make it vibrate aswell. Does it still run well as it does the vibration/
oh i didnt see that. Yea thats your call, im sure it would be fine but those are not pipe threads tapped into it so they arent made to seal. Either way thats damaging the intake. Should be fine either way though its strictly a personal choice id say.
just tap into the flange for some 6mm bolts like he did. Thats the cleanest way id say. Sure what you want to do will work but looks alot better his way. All depends on the work you want to do
no i really do have the fastest mitsubishi in central michigan, sorry. haha we should all go to mid michigan motorplex together in fall when school starts again ill show you. I went this spring by myself and ran a 11.9 on pump gas my girlfriend wouldnt even go to the track with me that day...
oh 11secgsx how ghetto! lol just kiddin. is that a bosch 044 i spot. See you gotta get with it and cram it in tank in a 2g awd. here let me share mine.I finished this but i never took pictures of the fuel pump assembly finished and modified after its final installation.
man that is unfortunate though you are not the first to strip those weak threads in the oil pan. I eventually took my pan and welded a -10 an fitting straight too it so i didnt have to mess with those bolts.Decide how much you care about that engine and weather or not you want to do things...
it shows me around 450hp all the times ive looked. I dont know if it means AWHP or flywheel but id like to believe its around there. Though i wouldnt use this computer guesstimation to go bragging with.
yes its fairly simple with a good understanding of airflow and attention to detail. I just recently did this for someone else and it turned out nicely. The majority of the material can be removed quickly with a die grinder and an large ALUMINUM PORTING BIT. as you can see the space is there
